He seemed to be a genuine person (as much as you can tell these things from seeing someone on TV). He was also heavily invested in the science behind the dieting and many other areas he researched. I don't think it's true to say he didn't know or understand nutrition (I know your post doesn't say that). Providing accurate, accessible information seems to have been extremely important to him. I don't get the impression he was money driven, just passionate. My experience of doctors (GPs anyway) is that they can be dangerously arrogant and out-of-date. Michael Moseley was willing to challenge the orthodoxy, and his approach to preventative medicine and self-help through healthy eating and a variety of exercises and practices was genuinely helpful to so many.
This!! How do people think everyone gets around when the sun is shining, suddenly start levitating?! He's a grown adult I'm sure he took measured risk and unfortunately his time was up and that's that, probably nothing he could have done to prevent it.One thing I do wish people would stop mentioning is about him being a doctor and being knowledgeable about not going for walks in heat. having worked within the NHS a lot of doctors are medically competent but very lacking in common sense.
Also He was a doctor in qualifying only back in early 80s he didn't practise as a doctor he isn't licensed as a medical doctor and pretty much went straight into television after qualifying.
I can’t stand victim blaming. He may have felt too ill and wanted to get home as quickly as possibly and just became confused. Anyone can make a silly mistake in the heat of the moment. It’s so sad that it cost him his life in this case! I hope to god he died quickly and heartbreaking how near he was to help! The victim blaming on Facebook is rife and I come here and see some comments too. Poor man barely dead and being blamed for his choices

Sadly with more people living alone, lots of people can die or get very ill and go unnoticed.Rip
I think he was a great man who has done great good for humanity.
About him maybe dying of heatstroke. I have had low iron and heamoglobin for a few weeks and last week passed out in the bathroom and woke up in the bath. My bp was 71 over 55. What if I’d been out an about or driving ? He probably just passed out and fell
It’s been more or less dispelled though that he left the beach because he felt ill. His wife has said on record he went for a walk. Presumably then he felt fine when he set off. Obviously he may have had a health issue towards the end though.I can’t stand victim blaming. He may have felt too ill and wanted to get home as quickly as possibly and just became confused. Absolutely victim blaming is you getting attacked through no failt of your own because what you are wearing and similar situations. And getting blamed for it.“victim blaming” is a phrase that imo is getting a bit mis-applied. Speaking generally, there is a difference between blaming someone who was sexually attacked in the street for wearing a short skirt and blaming someone who ignored standard health warnings & advice and then as a result, suffered from health issues including an accident because of rough terrain.
Not that it matters but I am confused about the he was feeling unwell story, where did that come from? I thought his wife had said it.Daily Mail reporting cctv footgae from the resort has now been seen with him picking his way down the slope before stumbling. So very sad for his poor family.
