On watching the recent BBC documentary (and then reading various articles, that I did not pay attention to back in the day). I now believe that he was grooming and abusing children, I think it was likely that he was also falsely accused by some - but not by all of his accusers, I think it’s also very likely, that some victims haven’t and won’t speak out.

The recent bbc documentary is very informative, it’s not sensationalist- but presents the timeline in a way that was not clear to me, previously.
He comes across as a very manipulative, calculating man.
The time line of a few things were off, he released History while still married to Lisa marie, yet this made appear they were already divorced.
Thats the one that stood out to me.

Of course one of MJ’s family wouldn’t just stick up for their uncle?

Don’t get me wrong I love his music as much as the next person but if ‘roger from down the street had boys sleeping over at his house for weeks on end. In his bed, with him’ we’d all be fine about that would we???
Not at all, and i dont think the sleep overs were right, i dont belive he abused anyone.

I've never seen this before. Latoya always knew.

She did a few interviews about it including saying she thinks the reason he married Lisa Marie was to shut up the rumours. Years later she recanted. The rumour was she needed money after splitting with her husband, they gave her it and she publicly claimed she only said it because she was forced to by the ex.

Yeah I’m not convinced by the documentary having watched it.

However,
I still think a grown man wanting children to sleep in his bed isn’t innocent and even if nothing happened is crossing a HUGE boundary. No one would be okay with Roger from down the road doing it.

Also, didn’t one of the boys describe in great detail the marks on the underside of MJs penis which turned out to be accurate?
This is exactly where I am with it all as well.

The boy that identified the detail on his penis was Jordy Chandler who received the payout and then went into hideout

the current family who filed the lawsuit were vehemently defending MJ over the years.

I don’t doubt MJ was a paedophile at all. I don’t think he abused every little kid around him though.

he favored submissive boys didn’t he.

I think it was all normal for him but he was savvy enough to abuse kids hidden. he slipped up when he defended sharing beds with kids and had to go with it I think.

they actually changed their dates of abuse multiple times before it went to trial. Initially they claimed it happened pre-documentary but a video was found of them behind the scenes of the documentary talking extremely positive about Michael which they couldn’t explain away. They also claimed they were ‘held hostage’ at Neverland but again, they found that the mother went for a bikini wax and to the dentist during the time they claimed they were being held hostage so all the dates got shifted to after the documentary 😂.

They also said there was a conspiracy for Michael to ‘get rid’ of them by sending them to Brazil in a hot air balloon. 🤣 This is all mentioned in the court transcripts. The mother was charged with Fraud after this case, as the mj case actually flagged the fact she was claiming welfare checks whilst concealing her income sources. They also continually fundraised for money for Gavins chemo, whilst they actually had insurance which covered all his medical care. Jay Leno, Chris Tucker and a few other celebrities took the stand saying this family tried to get money out of them too.
Arr yes I remember the bikini wax story at the time. Load of bull the whole of it.

I think it’s really important to remember that lots of survivors of childhood sexual abuse never disclose it to anyone or some don’t until their abuser has been dead for many years. He was an expert at grooming boys and they felt like they were in a relationship with him and that it wasn’t abuse. They felt like they had to protect him.

I’m a very open and outspoken person but a few weeks ago I disclosed things that had happened to me 35 years ago and this was the first time I’d ever said it out loud. The reasons why people don’t disclose things even when directly asked are complex and I think that we shouldn’t question people’s credibility because they didn’t speak out earlier.
do lots of survivors deliberately conceal evidence from court (as adults)? Do they lie about various technicalities (eg claiming not to know about existence of the “MJ estate” even though they’d been emailing the MJ estate) in order to maximise financial compensation?

i’m not saying the accusers are lying about abuse. I wasn’t there and so I don’t know and never will. But their credibility is seriously questionable after how they have conducted their civil suits.

I say this as someone who has been through abuse myself.

The percentage of accusers who lie about abuse to police is absolutely miniscule. But I’d be interested to hear the percentage that lie when there’s millions of pounds at stake and the accused is dead.

MJ has had more (false) paternity suits against him than he’s ever had child abuse allegations. So the “no smoke without fire” statement doesn’t ring true.

How can you lie about the underside of a mans penis - who when checked matched the description - apparently there were marks where it had been bleached etc that you wouldn't know unless you saw it?
he also said he was circumsied and it came out that he wasnt

In fairness she was very young when he passed away, she can’t pretend she knows him completely. Also parents protect their children from alot, especially a painful upbringing. I thought the film was good. Jafar was amazing but it was never going to be Oscar winning. People complaining aspects weren’t covered, the makers already advised they weren’t allowed cover a lot due to legalities.
She was 11 she will remember him well. His only daughter isn't supporting this and one of her brothers didn't turn up either. It's very telling because they used to go to anything.

Does anyone think Justin Bieber is an adult living with abuse as a child? He is def not right, and he was mixing in this rife world too when he was underage.

I'm not sure if he ever actually met MJ...he would've been like 15 or so when he died and all of the 'pictures' I've seen of them together are of him after that so I think they're photoshopped. (You can tell by his hair as he had that weird bowl/swoop cut then)

I do think Justin has been through a lot though. His dad in particular seems like a typical stage parent. I also don't think being with Hillsong is helping as I have nothing against religion, but it seems more like a cult then just a regular Christian church.

Jafar really came into it during the Thriller and Bad eras. His dancing and mannerisms were incredible. The guy playing Joseph was really good too. I may have to see it again...
I just watched it, got free tickets - Jafar looked and sounded great but I felt like it looked nothing like him when he did Bad era just before the end. Thriller makeup was uncanny. The young boy was a fab little actor whoever he was. It was ok, preferred Better Man.

"Apparently". Right.

Well Riley (Lisa Marie's daughter) has said in her own words in a recent interview "I loved him" when talking about Michael Jackson
Lisa Marie said of Jackson: "He was an amazing person, and I am lucky to have gotten as close to him as I did and to have had the many experiences and years we had together,"......"I desperately hope that he can be relieved from his pain, pressure and turmoil now. He deserves to be free from all of that and I hope he is in a better place."

Yes it's definitely wrong and puts everyone in a vulnerable position. Hanging around with children in bedrooms should never have been acceptable and his family or someone close to him should have stopped it. It's unclear that he was actually sleeping in beds with children, potentially just sharing a room from time to time. But still. Wrong. Certainly in western culture but I have listened to others who say it's far more normal in other cultures. It's definitely not acceptable in the Uk and there's a reason for that!

But Jackson grew up in a tiny house and loads of siblings and then on tour on the road, sharing bedrooms with his brothers constantly. So you can sort of see the whole arrangement seemed more normal to him. He had no 9 to 5 job so the idea of bedtime or normal hours didn't apply. His choreographers would often say Jackson would usually practise dancing all night and sleep in the day. He had people who would come and stay at Neverland for weeks at a time (people like Mark Lester and Diana Ross' family including son Evan). They all attest to be giving free access to the whole of Neverland including Jackson's bedroom. So it seems as if it wasn't treated like some sacred room for sleep. More of an activity room on two stories that people would play and sleep in.

Exactly. I only believe stuff when I hear it from the horses mouth i.e Lisa Marie’s actual kids or Lisa Marie herself. She said a million times she loved him and they had a normal, healthy relationship, abet with its problems how many celebrity relationships don’t ( ?! ). They had a lot in common both being from showbiz families. I can’t wait for her book to come out, although no doubt some of that will get misquoted and twisted.

I love a good debate but if you’re quoting the papers that’s not good enough for me. 🙄

Does anyone know if there is any truth behind Jackson’s dad getting him chemically castrated?
(There’s also the argument that a person doesn’t age beyond the year they became famous)

Not that it would excuse his actions in any way but it would explain it to some degree.
If he did have the mind of a child he could have possibly just originally wanted to play and spend time with people that had the same mindset and intellect as him. Also it’s not uncommon for young teens to explore their sexuality together/their bodies/practise kissing etc. So maybe he thought he was doing that.

BUT then again, the actions accused by the men in the documentary are very graphic and advanced for what a teen (in my opinion) would be exploring with friends/others his age.
And again I’m even saying teen which is older than the the boys he chose to spend his time with.

It’s just something that keeps bothering me about this. Was he a child in his mind?
