Tbh I was glad George stopped featuring in her videos and now has made his profile private... I’d be happy to never see him on any of her content again. Was always the worst part of her content, strutting around like the sun shone out of his arse when in reality nothing he ever said was remotely funny and definitely not cool. But hi George - tell your mate Paddy to stop being a cringy try-hard as well...

Also, when people ‘delete’ their instagrams do they actually delete it. Because his profile now has zero photos? Seems a shame to delete years of memories on a profile just because you throw your toys out of the pram because a gossip thread calls you uncool...

One theory I've mentioned on the Emma Hill thread is, a lot of the bigger influencers are Ltd companies, they may have furloughed themselves via the company, so can't be seen to still be working as an 'influencer' as it goes against the furlough rules.

I actually started it because I used to really like Megan. I stopped following her a while ago and was surprised she didn’t already have a thread on here. As for her sister. Absolute fucking dickhead alert. I’ve never followed Faye but I’ve seen her page and always found her just fucking tragic. I also have to say that I really agree with people’s comments about Megan’s life making others feel bad, and is the reason I joined this thread.

I’m younger than her but through watching her videos and following her out of pure enjoyment for the last few years, I look back now and think she’s definitely made me feel like I’m not successful enough. Like, her life online couldn’t be more perfect, cool flat, then owned two amazing houses, now engaged to her teenage crush, two perfect dogs, amazing relationship with both her and George’s families, always on incredible holidays and trips and has a wardrobe to die for, owns a clothing company, literally a picture perfect engagement on a helicopter in friggin New York. In reality ‘normal’ people can’t compete with the amount she’s achieved because she’s achieved a lot of that through luck money and privilege. But yet always portrayed herself as the down to earth girl. And I think her latest moves will back fire on her, because she’ll seem more unattainable than ever. Like, there was literally no reason for her to delete most of the vlogs that she has - most people watched them for entertainment and her day to day style. She can’t use the argument of a privacy breach for deleting her travel vlogs for example.

She would really push that message as well in her blogs and videos, every festival she went to was the ‘best festival ever’, every holiday was the ‘holiday of a lifetime’, even in her last blogpost she wrote that this summer was supposed to be the ‘best one of her life’ even though she said that about last summer too. She was constantly portraying the fact that her life was perfect.

And don’t get me started on how downright embarrassing her obsession with Queen is, or how she pretends to be a music nerd in general. In one vlog she pretended to be a huge Arctic Monkeys fan girl yet saw them for the first time at TRNSMT in 2018 - where you been for 12 years hun?

Couldn’t have put it better myself! On the Queen front - apart from Megan’s style, I find her and George’s taste in everything just really cheesy and try hard. Then again, his band was awful, so it makes sense that their music taste isn’t great. This wouldn’t bother me if they didn’t try and act so cool about it. Just own that your taste is cheesy, dated and unoriginal. I find people who are trapped in the 2007 indie scene so cringe, but maybe that’s just me...

Does anyone remember when George tried to make it big with a cookbook? His signature dish from it being mac and cheese. Groundbreaking

I hope she addresses it too and realises she should be doing more with her voice and influence. Everything so far has been entirely on her own terms. I hate the cliche of 'her fans got her there' but it's absolutely true. And she's ignored that for too long. People loved her on Youtube, but she quit that and hasn't offered anything else instead. Apart from trying to flog expensive shit she isn't giving her followers anything at all.

I used to follow her sister Faye on Insta years ago. Then she posted something really mean and spiteful about someone (either a shop worker or barista or something like that) and I remember thinking it was really unkind of her.

I actually commented on how mean it was, she responded snarkily and I unfollowed her. I can't even remember exactly what it was now but I remember thinking.....wow this girl is selfish and mean and I can't believe she posted that. It was nasty enough for me to unfollow.

I'm also loving this thread! I've followed Megan for years now and loved her, but now her content, clothing and homeware has become unattainable for the average person, especially in these tricky times. It's nice to have a place to vent about her. I still really enjoy her content for the most part, but I have to pull up this quote from Mermaid456 before that really struck a chord with me:

Also, i think my mental health suffered a bit to honest as the way she always portrayed her perfect family, sister and george... got under my skin a bit, just as i actually started to feel bad that i didn't have such a close relationship with my sister and thought i had failed within myself, also her parents seem absolutely perfect haha, would be nice to not have such an influencer spin on it all.

I also think my mental health suffered from following Megan for so long. I'm sure it is not really the case, and I know Instagram is a highlight reel of someone's life but things just seem to come so easy to her? She landed the guy of her dreams, moved into a cool flat within a few months (it was the first flat they viewed, no need to do the gruelling flat viewings that most of us have to do), moved into her house that she paid for by herself, did the house up within the year, gets to travel all the time, perfect family... etc etc etc. I'm only a year younger than Megan and find it difficult not to compare myself. Like, why am I not on my second property and about to get married? I think Megan is the only influencer I've ever been "jealous" of tbh.

At the end of the day, there is literally no excuse for deciding to go offline as soon as she got backlash about her black lives matter post, showing everyone her white privilege with how easy it is for her to ignore what’s happening in the real world. Calling it ‘crappy timing’ demonstrated this by not even talking about it further or admitting that she had made a mistake, only tried to justify it.

Only reason for her deciding to strip her posts to just fashion is an excuse to show no opinion on anything now as she’s too scared to say something which she actually feels in fear of backlash. Too scared to even repost that post by vixmeldrew about unfollowing if the creator isn’t creating content on issues you want to see...like what if we all just unfollowed George Floyd’s killers on Instagram instead of rioting about it? Isn’t turning a blind eye the thing that everyone’s trying to change?

He got his lawyers involved and managed to get the tweets deleted and the twitter accounts ( two of them) suspended for 'slander'. She believes him obviously. I will be deleting my comment soon. It has annoyed me that people on here have been labelled 'Bullies' and that you all need to question your lives. I think we all now know who needs to question their life choices. Random one but just remembered something related to them acting shady about Faye moving into Megan’s old house.

This post saying the orange sofas are going to a loving new home even though it appears they’ve stayed at her old house for Faye to use. (Which is good because they were really not very old and they’re so nice imo). So why not just say that?

Another example of seemingly trying to hide that Faye is living there - just don’t get why?

It's strange how secretive they are about the situation when they both post so so many photos of the insides of the house. Do they think people don't notice its the same house??
