This was the Official Forum, it closed down well over ten years ago after someone who was initially banned, then allowed to join again, spammed porn all over the boards (some of it 'illegal' porn too). And one of the people involved in that is now a Labour Party councillor in the Greater Manchester area, which is concerning to say the least. I logged into Forever Delayed quite recently, but checked just now and you're right. It's not there anymore. I have no idea what's going on there. But I'm sure I checked in over the Christmas period and it was all up and running then.

Having said that, she was on FD too but I forget what name she used. She was still rude AF and only talked about Richey

Sitting here watching old Manics on TOTP.

I may have previously said in this thread, but I was one of the obsessed fans, I've seen them 50 times live over 29 years. I had Manic penpals across the UK as my gig and friend network.

Tonight I stumbled across Roses in the Hospital on TOTP and it all flooded back to me about word in the fan network that it wasn't Nicky in the Mickey Mouse mask. Apparently it was someone in their crew called Rory.

I remember at the time thinking the bass player moved differently to Nick. Even all these years later, I still do.

Anyone else remember the rumour? Here's the clip:

Did anyone used to frequent the official manics forum? I used to around 2004-5 ish, had a few friends on it and we used to visit each other and still in touch with some to this day!

Oh I didn't realise that was just a rumour, I always thought it was true that he was on his honeymoon and someone else stood in. Is that unconfirmed?

Nah, it’s a fact. I wasn’t a fan back in 93 but it was reported widely enough for me to have read about it back in the late 90s.

I would also include Marion, who were a personal favourite of mine, but I can count the number of people I know who have heard of them on one hand. They were another band that should've been bigger, but drug excess took its hold. I'm sure Brandon Flowers must have been a fan; Hot Fuss is very reminiscent of Marion, to me.

I’m replying to this a year later, but I too absolutely loved Marion!!! I thought no one else had heard of them!

I definitely remember some cringe anecdotes about groupie stuff with Richey. Pre-marriage though I think.

I was on the Official forum at the same time, but I never met up with anyone. That place was wild. And I miss it!

yep it was a good place. I was there 04-05.

you have an excellent memory of some of nonsense that went on!! At least it’s not just me who remembers that ‘photograph’ put up by someone that’s now a councillor!

I also remember 4_Real_03 being an absolute savage to I and most others.

did anyone else go to a meet up at a house in Rotherham in August 05?

Sounds exciting how can I find out who the councillor is?! I think I'd left the forum well before then not sure why as at one point it was probably my main social interaction haha.

It's taken a lot of digging in my memory but I think I do remember 4_real_03, wish I could remember more old usernames!
