That's so good to hear! It is a real shame, Jaime is one of my favourite vocalists of all time. I still follow him on Facebook. He's a bit of a state but he's still here at least. Definitely one of the better bands of that era.

lovely to see the Manics on vintage TOTP last night (“Love’s Sweet Exile”), Richey looking resplendent too, god love him.
Finished the book. Too intelligent to live seems to be my take away. I felt exhausted by the analyses of books and poems and films that he enjoyed or focussed on which, it’ seems to be suggested, foreshadowed his disappearance.

It's exhausting that you can't have any serious discussions about the Manics without crazy conspiracy theories or trolls appearing with comments about Richey.
The one that always sticks with me was someone on FD who was convinced Richey was doing the backing vocals on their most recent album (which I think at the time was Postcards from a Young Man, might have been JFPL). They said it wasn't James and wasn't Nicky so it HAD to be Richey, it was the only possible answer. They didn't react well to the responses that it was clearly Sean for some reason. That didn't make sense to them.

I'm a very long time fan and the one time I met him backstage I turned down a trip back to the hotel with him.
Bearing in mind what has been said previously was it a positive or negative encounter with him?
I’ve seen the allegations about him before and I believe them.
It was 1994, I was a (young) 17 and very very thin on purpose, if that covers it. Fortunately I was already fully obsessed with the Wire, had no interest in Richey, and my dad was waiting outside in the car to pick me up, so it wasn't happening. He wasn't narky in taking no for an answer, but I'm very aware that I am just one person and mileage may vary.
I think he's gorgeousOh he definitely used to partake back in the day. There was a nice story about him on Popbitch ages ago that he went back to a fans flat, did the business, and in the morning he'd tidied up and been out and bought coffee and croissants. What a guy

He's deactivated his fb profile at the moment. Or muted the group or something. Anyway, low profile over Christmas and up to now.
Sorry, late. But the female author's username on the Official Manics site was 4Real03 (or something close to that). She was really young back then, but I don't think that fully excuses the abuse she dished out. Plus, even all those years ago, she seemed to have an axe to grind with the band because I distinctly remember wondering why she was there if she hated them so much. I also remember her because I was one of the people she came after.
Anyway, as for Sean. I knew he had a Facebook account which I thought was very strange for a guy in his position. An official FB page, sure. Loads of musicians would have one of those. But an actual account, adding people and joining groups dedicated to their band ... that was definitely weird. I assumed it was a fan pretending to be him (there was one for James Dean Bradfield for years, at a time when we all knew James barely knew how to switch his mobile on, god love him). But then people within the fandom who're "in the know" verified that it was him.
But if that account is now deactivated, hopefully it's because he's over his midlife crisis and settling down with his new partner? But it's still crappy if women were being used by him - I make no excuses for that.
Hmm, I don’t think I remember her! I remember Finn and there was always issues because she seemed to bully people and acted like she was more important because she was the admin? Can’t really remember everyone and went to check and it seems that Forever Delayed has gone to forum heaven!
Re Sean- I was told years ago that he had a log in for FD and used to be an avid reader of… everything. Including the fanfic
