10k per ad, wow. And with 8 out of her last 12 Insta posts are ads, and that’s only since 22 July. It’s pure greed, no one needs that much money. That it’s under the guise of sustainability and minimalism is galling. Considering the state of the planet it is fiddling while Rome burns.
Everyone can be bought for a price and Maddie has well and truly been bought and paid for!
I'm sure leaving her management was done for greed too, no 20% commission to pay.

She reminds me of actors who take any acting role for the money, and then down the line wonder why no one will cast them in a serious role. She doesn't seem to be thinking long term, it's all about the instant cash grab.

What’s with all the linen dresses on insta as well? She used to dress quite nicely imo, now she looks like frumpy.
It's weird, she used to pose in skin tight work out gear and bikinis (obvs for likes), but now it's all linen bed sheets lol. She says she's comfortable with herself now, but I don't think she is.

Being sustainable = using products that do not harm the environment or making do with what you have or recycling. So it's ok to wear recycled wool
Vegan no to wool or leather or anything animal based.
So NO Maddie as a vegan you can't wear wool. Where are your principals and ethics of a vegan ?You cannot chop and change because it does not fit your agenda.

As someone who's vegan I'm OK buying and wearing second hand leather and wool. Those items often last much longer than the alternatives. I'd avoid buying it new because it creates demand. I'm sure that used to be Maddie's stance too.

ETA I know this is a personal preference and I know some will disagree and prefer to avoid wool and leather at all.

Influencing is a somewhat precarious existence but how many use that as an excuse for a cash grab. And the ‘make hay while the sun shines’ becomes a self fulfilling prophecy for some as the high volume of ads and choice of partnerships puts their followers off and erodes trust, speeding up the end. Maybe they were never in it for the long haul anyway.

The flash-in-the-pan Amplify Melanated Voices campaign is so revealing how these influencers are all about the optics and nothing of real or lasting substance. And Rachel Ama had a new book out last week (including an appearance on This Morning) - she may not be a household name but is very well known in the vegan sphere so no way the launch would have escaped Madeleine’s notice.

I’m fully prepared for people to argue and disagree, after all if everyone was the same and thought the same the world would be crap. But as a vegan I also wear second hand wool and leather, not a lot and a lot of it is items I bought before I went vegan, would never buy new but vegan alternatives are just plastic, they don’t last and good quality ones are well out of my price range and until a viable and sustainable option has been found I will probably continue.

but I do feel the need to quickly make a point again this is but one opinion and I don’t this forcing someone to try and see the same way will ever work. But one of my mums oldest friends has a farm, it’s a small farm family owned for generations, and I also worked for a time in a small town in Wales for the local council, and lived next to a sanctuary that rescued farm animals from slaughter - it was a dream especially when there were baby animals running around and I was able to help them rehab these animals. And I learnt a few things about what the human race has done to animals in the name of farming. And while leather I don’t agree with at all as there is no way to create leather without an animal dying, unless you’re solely using animals that have died naturally but not sure that’s viable. Anyway long story short, part of the breeding of sheep for more meat and more wool means most sheep breeds cannot survive on their own, and especially without being sheered regularly. They produce too much wool and it’s been engineered not to fall out and shed how it should. And when they aren’t sheered - google escaped sheep that have been found after years, they have so much wool, the weight can kill them, you cannot just sheer them either as the lifting of such weight too quickly can kill them as well. My point is, although I personally don’t buy new wool. There may need to be a mid point for things like wool as we’ve as a race ducked up so many animals alot now cannot survive without us and without care such as sheering.

But Maddie isn't wearing secondhand wool or leather. She's wearing "recycled" wool, it's not the same thing as buying a wool jumper from a charity shop. It's literally the same as buying a standard wool jumper. Recycled fabrics is mostly just greenwashing.

Another day, another linen dress (reminds me of Victorian day at primary school!), another ad.

Didn't she already have a washing machine?Has she accepted a new one because it's free? How eco of her!

As a loyal viewer since 2016, I've had enough. I no longer like, respect or trust her. I have unfollowed on YouTube and am about to unfollow on insta.

It's weird because it's a bit like cutting ties with a friend, but a toxic friend who doesn't make you feel good.
Maybe I'll watch a video here and there, but for now it's bye bye Maddie.

I am not vegan. I make no judgements. But if I were. I still would not wear or buy new or 2nd hand wool and defo not leather. I have a friend who is vegan. She does not push it to anyone. But she would never wear leather nor wool.

What bothers me about Madeleine is she sets herself up in a preachy model sustaintable vegan role but then falls short all of the time. If she wasn't so preachy and smug about it I probably would roll my eyes less at her when she does un-sustainable things.

Of course, I think it's normal to make mistakes, and I think its hard to live a perfectly virtuous sustainable life (I certainly don't!)
But Madeleine's whole brand is about that. So her unsustainable choices and weak justifications for them are annoying.

The idea that she’s currently ‘resting creatively’ whilst pumping out paid ad after paid ad is ridiculous.

Imagine buying the new issue of Vogue and it’s all ads & directory and Edward’s editors letter is like ‘hi, don’t mind us, it’s all about ebb & flow, we’re resting creatively this season’. Or tuning in to watch your favourite programme on ITV and the voiceover person says ‘we’ve put all our effort into the ads tonight, don’t worry your show will be back once the team have rested creatively’.

And she has done a recipe video recently but it was a paid ad for an ice cream company so the creativity managed to flow for that? Oh I see…

Haven't they got tradespeople in doing most of the work? She makes it sound like she's doing it all herself.

How exciting. She's taking a break so she can get back to cooking up a storm. Can't wait for the next porridge / dal recipe. 🤦‍♀️

She has not been bothered by creativity in her cooking before? Her recipes are not exactly original or complex, and other food influencer type people seem to manage.

It is all just a cash cow for her. She has no interest or bother.

I’m allergic to mushrooms so I just zoned out when she banged on about how wonderful they are. Why does everything have to have damn mushrooms in when you’re a vegetarian/vegan?!
I feel you, I sigh anytime an influencer mentions those fad nut butters with every meal they show  (I’m allergic). Seriously though the nut butter fad is everywhere. I couldn’t be vegan easily because everything seems to contain the b*stards (devil’s food = nuts) I swear the likes of Maddie copy each other with the way they present their meals.
