Because I laugh reacted at this I feel the need to say I don't agree with the bit about Jen (Jen - you seem really compassionate and broadminded. Lots of shades of grey which I like) but the awkward efit was well...awkward.
I’m sure she’s a decent person in real life but it’s not necessary to rip people apart for having different theories! One of them may be right or a completely different theory no one has noticed yet, but if she doesn’t agree with people she can skip those parts quite easily.

I take your point.

I hate arguing, not that anyone is arguing as such but I've got that weird, flappy, want to make the peace feeling, where everyone gets heard. I didn't know such emotions were possible on an Internet forum 😆.

You’re very welcome, unfortunately I’ll be working tomorrow so I hope you can find something useful to do with your time until I’m back sweetie, perhaps that little thing called get a life and accept other people can have options/speculations/discussions and debates without your view being the right one! The mccanns aren’t grateful that you waste your time defending them, find another hobby!
I do accept other opinions and challenge them if I think they're wrong. Happy to accept the same by return. Given the overall majority here are anti the McCanns, why does one lone voice who doesn't believe them to be guilty of killing their daughter or abusing her bother you so much? Some of the stuff you've written is just pure fiction, garnered from those awful forums that you seem to devour (or write). So I might suggest you 'find another hobby' too.

I agree, everyone can get along by suggesting different theories if they chose to and discussing them respectfully like the majority of people are already, there is sadly always one who wants to disrupt that for no apparent reason but I’m not interested in arguing, just trying to make sense of why an innocent little girl vanished.

My ‘theories’ are only repeats of what was put out there in the early days anyway I didn’t ‘invent’ them  just think it’s interesting to go back over them after all these years and while some now seem far fetched others still sound plausible

I don’t think the McCanns deliberately killed their daughter. I do think there is a possibility she met with a fatal accident while alone in the apartment or that they sedated her and she had a fatal reaction. I also think it’s possible she was abducted by a third party who had nothing to do with the McCanns. I have no idea which if any of these possibilities is what happened.

I don’t think the McCanns abused their daughter but I do think they were negligent in their care of her.

If Philpott had been a wealthy doctor he wouldn't have committed the crime in the first place. Like it or not, socioeconomic background is a huge factor in crime. He also had a record for violence and fraud, which is why he was a suspect from day one.
If he was a doctor he would probably have been clever enough to realise that the way he lit the fire would have created a raging uncontrollable inferno. He used too much petrol, and didn’t realise an open window upstairs and varnished wood panelling on the stairs would have drawn the fire upwards.

He never intended to kill his kids, he wanted to frame his ex mistress for the fire to get custody of their kids, and meanwhile he could rescue his kids from the fire and be the hero (hence the window being open). He only wanted a survivable, medium sized fire. He was too thick to realise how dangerous his plan was.

It was a very normal thing to do pre MM. Lots of hotels offered listening services. I used those services a couple of times. My kids were out like a light every night at 7.30 back then and I was still in the building at least. 😂 I don’t think I don’t deserve to have kids because I left them.

The night before MM was crying so badly that the neighbour had a word with the McCanns the following morning, the day of her disappearance. To go ahead and leave the kids again knowing they were distressed was hugely selfish.
I don't have children myself but I remember discussing the disappearance at the time with friends who did, with children in their teens. All were appalled by the situation, saying that they used to sit out on the balconies while the children were young and in bed, having had earlier meals with children asleep in their buggies beside them if they were tired.

I'm 61 and my parents didn't use listening services until I was very much older than Madeleine and the twins.

The resort had a nighttime crèche that could have been used with a lot less hassle than constantly going to check, and a bloody sight safer.

Does anyone on my wave length remember a far fetched story that Madeleine was a twin and they were going to sell a baby/both babies or it was just a surrogacy. That a woman came and made a scene asking for Madeleine because she was hers but they didn’t give her up. There was another birth registered under kates details with the same details as madeleines birth, a boy possibly called owen? There’s a photo of Kate with a little boy very similar looking to Madeleine who was in the corner of the photo looking angry. All very strange. I was once almost close to believing the story that Madeleine didn’t even exist just based on how odd everything is! Once you think something makes sense another thing throws a spanner in the works.
The girl shall not even have existed? Why would they have pretended the life of a girl whole four years long?

Yep I noticed her dodging certain comments and questions and her condescending and insulting responses towards people.

It was sarcasm, but there are people who genuinely believe it as she was dumped on relatives constantly so there wasn’t any one outside of the family who came forward to talk about her, only their nanny who was a family friend. Inventing a fake child is not something anyone could realistically do.

Just to,say, I’m not ‘anti’ anyone and actually think that is one things that has made the case so fractious.

What I find hard to comprehend was that she was upset the night before being left but they chose to do it again!! Surely even if you thought it was perfectly acceptable to leave Madeline alone surely the fact she was upset with you gone would make you think it’s not fair on her we will take her out in the pram or perhaps we should stay in instead. I’ve just doing a quick Google search and find it even more shocking what they said

on the morning of their last day together, Madeleine asked her mother, "Mummy, why didn't you come when we were crying last night?"

"It was sort of fairly early in the morning, she just very casually really said, 'Where were you last night when me and Sean cried?' and we immediately looked and said, 'When was this Madeleine, was this when you were going to sleep?'" said Kate McCann.

"We obviously told the police because we thought, does this indicate that someone has been round the night before and that's what has woken her up?" she said. "Which is significant you know … I've persecuted myself over and over again about that statement because you think, why didn't they [the police] kind of just hold it and say, 'What do you mean?'"
Madeleine didn't answer her parents' question and "carried on playing, whatever she was doing, totally undistressed," Kate McCann said.

The McCanns say that because Madeleine didn't make a big deal about the issue that they let the matter go. But they say they consciously decided that evening to be more vigilant about checking in on the children.

"As Gerry said, 'She's a very bright little girl, and if Madeleine had something to say she'd say it,'" Kate said. "And also bearing in mind that that night, the night that she went, she said that had been the best day of her holiday, so she certainly wasn't upset by anything.

Her 3 yr old daughter is concerned that nobody came to comfort them when they cried but they just buggered off for another night out and left the doors unlocked anyway. What a selfish thing to do.

I wouldn't even leave my dog in an unlocked property let alone children who had been upset about it the night before!

They are the same 3 possibilities I believe too.

The only thing that has always baffled me is that when the cadaver dogs smelt that someone had died in their apartment Kate’s first reaction was “They’re wrong.”
Now I can only speak from my perspective, but if my child was missing and that happened I’m pretty sure I’d not have dismissed it like that and more likely been absolutely devastated that my child had been killed in that room.
Why dismiss it immediately? If you’ve no idea what happened to your child then why would you dismiss a possible theory?

I know a lot of people discredit the dogs as unreliable, but the dogs they used were proven to be correct in all their cases up until the mccanns when apparently they were wrong. They detected death on kates trousers, the toy cat, the hire car boot and the flower bed outside the apartment. In Portugal their findings were enough to put them in prison alongside Madeleine’s dna in the blood found under the tiles, but the U.K. swooped in and they ran away home after previously saying they wouldn’t. Kate confirmed the dogs were correct by saying the scent of death on her trousers were because they were worn to work when she visited a dead body. Her surgery confirmed she was lying. So based on those facts it seems to me kate had very close contact with a dead body while on the holiday.

Again this makes no sense. When Madeline said her and Sean were crying, Kate jumps to someone waking them up. So if she thinks someone was lurking close enough to wake them up then why did neither twin wake up at all when she's screaming when they found Madeline gone the night after? Neither twin also woke up when there was an apartment with what you assume all the lights on, all the adults in a blind panic and police walking in and out
