Agreed, I don't think anyone is arguing with the fact the decision to leave the children was a disaster

So, Kate’s book was 2011 and Madeleine went missing in 2007 - so that’s 4 years?
if that was the first public acknowledgment … which you would have had to read the book to see? … then it’s not that strange that people either don’t know about it or think it’s a little late?

They've said it in TV interviews as well. That was just one that I highlighted but, as I previously said, if you have an agenda it will never be enough

I’ve watched a lot of their interviews and have never seen them apologise. Care to upload any evidence?

In hindsight they’ve showed regret but not remorse

Anyway, as you were, please upload any footage of them being remorseful about leaving them in an unlocked apartment whilst they were dining elsewhere.

As I asked, how long after?
the initial responses were bullish, when did that change?
I’d assume possibly when someone told Clarence Mitchell that no, people didn’t all do it and that attitude wasn’t doing them any favours.

I don't recall bullish behaviour. I recall a mother who looked broken and like she was barely existing. Looks like we all see things differently.

But they had the occasion to use foresight, though, didn’t they? They had the occasion of Madeleine and Sean crying to realise it wasn’t a good idea … but they seemingly (according to the group statements) doubled down and just decided to leave the patio doors open in case Madeleine needed to come and fetch them.

I don't love them, I feel sorry for them and don't think they deserve nearly two decades of hate.

I mean Gerry is a consultant cardiologist, he is a professor, very well educated and extremely bright, he works at one of the best heart hospitals in England. He treats vulnerable people (including children) daily, people who (like Madeleine) require care from a sensible, responsible adult.

What would you think if he left a patient for 3/4 hours to go for dinner and drinks with his friends? Do we really think that having the attitude of "it's perfectly fine to leave my toddlers and 3 yr old alone at night in an unlocked apartment in a foreign country," is the attitude a GP or consultant doctor should have?
Sorry to say but I wouldn't be happy for him to be in charge of mine or anyone's care.

I think they are well connected and that is why they have suffered no legal consequences for their terrible behaviour. If she hadn't disappeared that night, she would have come to harm another because her parents quite simply didn't give a damn about her or her siblings' safety. And we can sit and say we feel sorry for them and they already "suffered enough" but as far as I'm concerned the person we should feel sorry for and who definitely suffered a hell of a lot more than those two is Maddie. No excuses should be made and I have no sympathy for them two at all, they should be ashamed of themselves and carry that shame for the rest of their lives. My sympathy lies with their innocent children, two of whom will be forever known as the one whose sister disappeared and the other who will forever be known as the one who disappeared because her parents put their stomachs and social lives before her. Their actions caused irreparable damage it can't just be swept under the rug.

How old was Maddie 3? so they thought it ok for a 3 yr old to wander around the resort on her at night to fetch her parents if she or her siblings needed them?

The problem with that statement though is when you are 'dining in the garden' you know who is next door. You are not in a resort with hundreds of strangers!

It proves that showing extreme anguish is irrelevant. Karen Matthews anyone? I don't consider they were bullish but even if they were. So what? People respond to tragedy in different ways

I'm talking about their statements made about leaving the children alone.

What I find remarkable is, I read somewhere the children were artificially conceived, so they must have been wanted and wished for quite urgently (not that naturally conceived children aren’t) just to be neglected four years later.
