As usual, everything is slightly off with Lydia’s look. Unflattering dress - badly fitted - hat that doesn’t quite match colour wise (so should have gone for a different colour altogether), bows on shoes that are pointless as the dress is too long and interferes with them, bows on hat, dress, and shoes - too much!! - especially as they are all different shapes and sizes. Bag strap hanging down, should have been removed. I love pearls, but coupled with the awful dress material and colour, they gave off a distinctly dated vibe. And don’t get me started on the gloves and rings very Ming the Merciless (similar eyebrows, too )

Imo, the big blue hat was the star of the show ....
It did the job of hiding her smug, slappable face for 90% of the time.

And the gloves looked ridiculous. Like cheap latex gloves.

The Ascot outfit is awful. Too much of everything but at least the shine on her dress matches her shiny booze face.

Lydia is a horrible person and no amount of PR or 'perfect' shots, will detract from this, The way she goes through friends and workers shows this!

I think the ring is tacky; a real diamond of that size (not lab grown) would be at least £50,000. I am no expert, but to be the stone looks very cloudy and lacks the clarity and brilliance of a quality diamond.

Formal glove etiquette

Gloves should be worn rather than carried. Never wear rings over gloves. Short gloves are appropriate and elegant for cocktail parties. At informal occasions gloves should be removed upon arrival and left with the coats at the cloakroom.

Gloves should be worn rather than carried.
Never wear rings over gloves.
Short gloves are appropriate and elegant for cocktail parties.
At informal occasions gloves should be removed upon arrival and left with the coats at the cloakroom.
Short gloves should not be worn to a “white-tie” event, court presentation or gala ball.
Formal events require gloves that are at least past elbow length.

I can’t believe how much of her back is showing. She was wittering on about the straps having to be a minimum width to adhere to Ascot rules, but then wears a dress that is lower at the back than many swimsuits. If you think about where her actual waist is … that’s a VERY low back.
