There is bad people, men and women, in every single profession so if guilt is proved here, I am not in the least bit surprised. I think if she is, people tend to be shocked because she’s young blonde and white.

IF (saying IF) she is found guilty, I think depending on the circumstances that it might show the hospital failures resulted in a lapse of safeguarding protection which allowed someone to take the opportunity to harm patients (say if they relaxed a two staff at all times type of rule). However I don’t know if they would be held accountable in a criminal way or if there would just be resignations/improvements put in. I don’t recall seeing David Fuller’s hospital being held accountable in any way (although I haven’t followed it closely) and his crimes were horrific.

Thats a very good point. If LL is found guilty on most/all counts, that doesn’t even mean the hospital are off the hook. For a nurse to have the opportunity to give babies overdoses/the wrong drugs/meddle with machinery (time will tell which methods were allegedly used) then it’s disturbing to think it went unnoticed by colleagues.

Yes I think I said in an earlier post that many people seem to think it’s an either or situation. It’s either the hospital failures OR she’s guilty. But if a hospital has systemic failings it could also allow someone that way inclined to take advantage of a failing hospital with poor enforcement of safeguarding procedures. The hospital can be a failure AND have a serial killer working for them at the same time (in theory, in six months we may know for sure).

I’m relieved we are finally getting updates and there isn’t going to be the restrictions Jammy Dodger said there would be. But now I’m feeling terribly anxious about the prosecution opening statement and finally hearing the basis of this case and summary of what evidence they have.

These babies died whether murder or another reason and they will have to listen to that for months. Are the jury allowed to discuss with each other during the trial when together in court breaks?

There was a case in America, can’t remember what it was for, a serial killer maybe, and the details of the case were so horrific the judge excused the jury from jury duty for the rest of their lives. I can only hope the jurors from this case are afforded the same

Only when deliberating I think well when I did it that was the case

No...not at all. They can't influence each others decisions. They can only discuss when the judge releases them for a verdict.
