The press conferences might remind the general public of the covid government announcements, when important updates on a national crisis were given. Most of the public trust doctors and medical experts. I've been shocked at the lies and deception that Mark Mcdonald and friends have unleashed in their reports.

The way Dr Brearey has been treated is disgusting. Both by the hospital managers and the first press conference.

the Families, or the Inquiry, feel reassured that the basis for the application to the CCRC has been
any more carefully reasoned or considered?"

It’s actually great that it’s their own strategy that’s backfiring on them. Their desperation for public support means they exposed themselves and given the other legal teams a head start in debunking it before McD has even submitted his full application.

I saw on a subreddit a truther bemoaning what a bad week it's been for Letby. Good.

It also wasn't the number of deaths and collapses that alarmed the consultants, it was the nature of the collapses, the way they responded to resuscitation, the unusual skin discoloration etc. The statisticians seem to be ignoring this fact.

Mcdonald's publicity stunts are just evil. They are taking advantage of the public not being medically/ legally trained and then feeding them a load of lies. This is then feeding into the truthers conspiracy theories which then leads to disgusting treatment of the families.

So many bizarre people out there. Let’s all just do away with the court system and stick a guilty/not guilty poll on social media in the future…it’s all madness. She’s so guilty

One day last week my local paper ran a story about Letby. It was essentially the Karen Rees story claiming her innocence and they ran it a day or two after it had been in the national paper. Must have been a slow news day for the local paper and they were trying to find additional stories. Anyway I couldn't believe the vast number of comments claiming a miscarriage of justice and a really small number saying she was guilty. Not only that there were huge numbers of likes for the miscarriage comments and a small number of likes for the guilty comments. There's no way all these people living in a relatively small geographical area can know much about the evidence and trial and yet because of the highly publicised 14 experts so many people have come to this conclusion. I feel quite sickened by this. It makes me think McDonald shouldn't have been allowed to do what he did in this public way. Yes he should be allowed to take the appeal to the CCRC but in a private way. If in the future there was another trial how can it be fair with so many uninformed people with already strongly formed opinions. I hope it never gets to that. All these people have totally disregarded the highly qualified expert witnesses at the trial and seem to think the 14 hand picked witnesses by Lee are far more expert. It's disgusting the tactics that McDonald has deliberately used to influence the public through the media and social media, probably as much for his own personal agenda. The Cheshire police must feel very frustrated after years of gathering evidence and all this must be torture for the families. I hope the police are giving good support to them.

The high court judges ( if it gets that far ) will certainly be fact checking and that is the only thing I am interested in.
Let them write their incorrect click bait articles and as much as it disgusts me, their time in the sun will be short lived.

Please stop the inquiry even though we haven’t even done a full application to the CCRC yet.

We have all this evidence but we’ve not submitted it yet, but when we do CCRC will decide quickly in our favour because it’s so compelling. Even though it’s taken us months to make it up.

People still falling for this bullshit? Even if a CCRC application was grounds to stop the inquiry, they haven’t even bloody done it yet!

Assertions are untested (and not for her to comment on/judge)

I love how the inquiry has carried on as normal all week despite the submissions to pause it. After tomorrow there would be nothing else public until Lady Thirlwall publishes her report anyway.

There’s zero chance it will be paused but I wonder if there will be a formal response to the request.

No. I imagine if you were innocent your thoughts would be more along the lines of “did I kill them because i’m not good enough?” Rather than the very definite “I killed them on purpose”.
