I'd love it if there were more charges
---
Interesting about the gathering. I wonder what the drop out rate will be as they learn more about each baby. Assuming Mark McDick is fully transparent of course. Or if they are so far down the rabbit hole they can’t get out.
i bet at least half of them were statisticians

probably nice for old friends to meet up - many perhaps not seen since the last anti-vax rally

I too bet she attacked babies at LWH, possibly even having her first kill there. But I worry it was so long ago that they might never be able to prove it.
Medical notes needed to be kept for 25 years. All the evidence in them will still be available.

Operation Hummingbird must be fairly confident more charges will follow in the New year, or why go to the bother of interviewing Letby and telling the press.

Hello! Nice to see your name pop up 🤗
I think you could be right but maybe one possible difference could be if there are living victims with complications. 33% of her shift at LWH had “life threatening incidents” (that’s staggering 😵💫) so what if some of those poor babies are left with brain damage, learning disabilities or physical disabilities like the babies in the first indictment 😔
I am guessing they couldn’t pursue claims if she’s not found guilty and some of them might need care like baby G. I can’t imagine how they must feel waiting all this time and knowing there might not be justice for their child. Hopefully some comfort that she’s never getting out of prison but not sure that would be enough for me 💔
I think they’d be suing the hospital rather than LL either way, so shouldn’t affect claims.

The Shipman one included a lot of cases where the legal evidence would have been lacking. Unfortunately some of this might be, I’m not sure of the level of swipe data that LWH had in 2013 etc

Of note from Shipman:

In 2008, a University of Dundee investigation found that even if the monitoring of patients' deaths was introduced as the inquiry suggested, it would still take 30 deaths to detect a murderous trend

So since they’ve identified one with 8 babies…

Imagine the smell.. cheesy stale old incel white knights and eggy batty old pharmacists 😷
Bet they didn’t know which babies survived or didn’t, bet they didn’t talk much about the chances of two vanishingly rare false insulin tests for one nurse, bet they didn’t mention vast amounts of the overwhelming evidence like eye witness accounts, bet they parroted the same bull started by a crazy American domestic abuser and a stoned Dutch crank.

They will talk about the insulin tests not being forensic whilst accepting the post mortem results that were not forensic.

I also wonder if the medical records of the babies and mothers is now just a free for all for any “professional” who wants to have an opinion?
It’s one thing having to give up the privacy of your medical history to a police investigation but another for an unlimited amount of sceptics to huddle and criticise yours and your baby’s health because they think the earth is flat.

Mark Mcdonald will have access now he's taken over the case, wheter he is now free to show them to any potential expert witnesses?

One of the new cases is about water in a breathing tube! I can't see how this could happen by accident! They come in a sealed packet and are then connected to oxygen. No doubt the truthers will be on Twitter soon to explain why this wasn't Letby's fault.

I remember reading a different article about poor little Alvin but there’s a second baby in this one that I don’t remember at all. Both perfect letby victims 🙁 learning difficulties and a young mum, possibly EAL but crucially another c section birth that didn’t allow her to be with her baby. All the hallmarks of letby. I’d never heard the bit in Alvin’s story about overhearing letby saying she was ill and going home then he died two hours later?! I wonder if she poisoned him with something.
I also wonder the black/brown marks under some babies is actually her introducing something other than air to babies. Or as well as air. Maybe water. I don’t know 😣

My understanding is that there would need to be formal instruction of an expert - they can't just be shown to anyone who turns up at his office.

He’s such a cowboy isn’t he? Because presumably then he’s trying to get opinions from people who (still!) haven’t seen all the evidence / medical records. Did they bring up the tattle wiki instead?

Or he’s potentially breaching whatever the patient confidentiality rules are around this.

Thank god he’s wasting his own/Peter Elston’s money and not the public’s.

Nick Johnson is probably licking his lips at the prospect of examining a Letby expert witness in court.

Nipped over to Twitter, the truthers feel the police are possibly bringing more charges to close down the reporting of Lucy's innocence. One feels it was insensitive to question her in the run up to Christmas and the police should have waited until the festivities were over.

They are nuts. Christmas, new year, birthdays, all the same nothing special when you're banged up in jail.

Transcripts from yesterday 🤣🤣 another one that can’t remember!

Now, your witness statement, Mr Holden, is
26 pages long and on over 50 occasions you can take from
me you say either that you cannot recall or you can't
remember --
A. Yes.
Q. -- or some variation upon that.

What kind of role did the non-exec directors have in all of thie? They all seem to be names I’ve not heard of.

Been thinking again - so Thirlwall docs / neonatal mortality rate in 2010 was 1 baby at COCH - Letby first started there in 2010 according to that Telegraph article about little baby Alvin and M. From 2011 the death rate went up to 3+ before her killing spree in 15/16 and we know after she was removed in 2016, that there has been 1 death since, in all of those 7+yrs.

So my new depressing thought (as that’s all I seem to have about this hag, like about baby Noah) - is, is the 1 death in 2010 to 3+ deaths from 2011, which became their baserate at COCH, her doing from the off that she was in that place and made herself comfortable after a few months? 🫠 Do we have anything on pre-2010 mortality rates 😬😬

Part of my job is monitoring the local babies in NNUs. From doing that I can see the death rate for NNU babies is very low. So it doesn't surprise me there has been only one death since Lucy left.

Haven’t posted much recently but have been following along. I wonder if the NHS will have to set up a compensation scheme for the babies yet to be confirmed, like they have done with other large scale fk ups? Also, what the hell was she planning to do on return to work? Stop harming babies and act smug? Lay low for a while then resume the killings? Come back “with a bang” 🤢 and do as much harm as she could because she was effectively untouchable? Use the information she shouldn’t have been party to, to scapegoat someone else? Get reinstated and obtain a glowing reference to take her evil somewhere else? I don’t understand why she was hellbent on going back to that unit.
