Omg i feel happy but so bloody sad for those families. Happy that it's all being exposed and those poor bloody consultants who so bravely stood their ground have come out of this so well but so bloody sad that she could and should have been stopped the minute concerns were raised. And a tea party? I have no words. Just thank the bleeping lord the consultants prevented her coming back. Also thank you so much for keeping the thread updated guys, I've not been able to listen in at all today just dipped in here on my breaks.

It doesn't paint a picture that Lucy was scapegoat to protect a failing unit. More that they want to sweep the whole thing under the carpet and pretend it never happened.

I wish there was a “100%” reaction here because this is it for me. They wanted her back on the unit because she took all the shifts, they didn’t care that there was even the tiny possibility she was deliberately harming babies.

At best, they were willing to put a tit nurse whose care was causing deaths back on the unit to save their skin.

I hope nothing good ever comes to these people in their lives. I appreciate hindsight is a wonderful thing but their actions of trying to get her back on that unit without any sort of investigation is disgusting

edit - for spelling.

Ian Harvey is a lying toad. His ability to recall or not recall things is almost as interesting as Letby’s.
So Horden says this isn’t as thorough as it needs to be in her report and yet still found incredibly sketchy causes of death and largely deems them “unascertained”. But isn’t informed that suddenly the pattern of unexplained collapses and deaths has stopped now letby has been removed. Jesus.

My link has gone down and can’t get it back now and I’ve not got to the Mad Twatters tea party 😭

Yes I heard this. They played the clip of statistics lady Jane talking about 'from what I've seen, I'm concerned' which had me eyerolling hard. Like unless you've seen everything relevant there is to see, maybe shut the duck up?

Then they interviewed the solicitor. Started with them saying Jane had volunteered to give evidence at the inquiry and would the families welcome that? Response: No. That would be completely inappropriate. This is about the hospital, not about the criminal trial, which has concluded.

She also went on to say that the speculation was really offensive and hurtful to the families. (I paraphrase all this, apart from the 'No', which made me snort.)
Jane really needs to wind her neck in. On the podcast it sounded like she was saying it should be statisticians deciding whether a baby's collapse was classed as unexpected rather than medical staff 🙄.

What is clear is that the first organisation to have any real desire to understand what happened to these babies was Cheshire Police

have you tried iplayer? I’m still on it but I started the streaming when it was still live.
I searched inquiry and it didn’t come up. Tried Letby and the fourth hit was bleeping Doctors 🙃😑

Why, why, why were they more concerned about pandering to Letby and avoiding a potential employment claim than they were about what was happening to those babies? It makes no sense. All the fuss about her welfare and ensuring she was okay boils my blood.

Strange how the NG planks are very very quiet on Twitter. I can only find one or two hashtags regarding the inquiry. Why so quiet weirdos? Is it because you've realised today that actually she's as guilty as sin, and worse has been enabled by a corrupt system?

The pro Letby halfwits are ramping it up aren't they? I think it's because there are more people now out and defending the verdicts, the non guilty morons have had their day. Look at this vile tweet from that most disgusting of simps, I just can't fathom how any reasonable, sane and empathetic person could even think this let alone put it on socials. It's such a horrible thing to say, that man is warped and twisted.
Williams is a very sick and twisted individual. He needs to be arrested

oh no, I need to make sure I don’t close iplayer before I’ve finished then! I’m only at 12.20pm as I have to keep pausing for child related duties!

The stream I’m watching on iplayer is called ‘first hearing in Letby hospital inquiry’ and I found it in the news section.

I’m still in shock. It’s a close second to the plumber moment.

A… bleeping tea party
Me all evening every time I remember..

Seriously, Dr Noname knew she was being investigated for the unexplained deaths yet he still took her to visit Alder Hey. He really should be held accountable and have his anonymity removed 😡
This is exactly why I said I didn’t think all the doctors were without reproach and today is just making that even firmer in my mind. Not only was Noname endlessly texting her while one or both of them were on duty he’s clearly known she was being investigated and refused to listen.

I’m like this at the email she sent to her colleagues to say she had been exonerated and would be returning to the unit. Even in a world where she was wrongly accused, I don’t know how that email could ever be appropriate. It was not for her to send those type of emails!

Dr Noname acted differently from the other doctors. He was taken in by Letby. He was also a locum? and not a consultant so may not have been privy to all the discussions. He probably just thought with his d*ck, and didn't read the room. He'll regret that now.
