Dr Noname acted differently from the other doctors. He was taken in by Letby. He was also a locum? and not a consultant so may not have been privy to all the discussions. He probably just thought with his d*ck, and didn't read the room. He'll regret that now.
I don’t know if they cover it today but in the trial he was definitely involved in a later meeting because he fed back confidential information to Letby!

Yeah to be clear I’m not judging the consultants who spoke out or saying all the doctors there acted like Dr Noname but equally I don’t think they were all automatically above reproach because 4 spoke out. Similarly the nurses, while some were clearly v distressed others were happy enough for her to go to a tea party with them.

I truly believe that Letby got away with more on that specific unit than she would have on others. It doesn’t make it their fault entirely and it’s likely not particularly on any one person which is why I’ve said the hospital and the unit as general terms but the environment there seems so questionable generally and the more I’ve heard today, the more it’s reinforced my opinion.

Art of Law...

Ignore the clickbait title, the video is a useful primer of the scope of the inquiry.

Myers has been retained, the new lawyer is his junior.

All the talk of biases from the doubters… it’s quite clear that Eirian Powell’s own biases towards Letby was quite obstructive in the process of getting her removed from the unit. The concerns of bias and misuse of statistics should work both ways. I’m sensing Alison Kelly was the more concerned of the managers involved although I’m only at 2pm of today’s hearing.

I've just finished listening. Got chin muscles like Letby after all the jaw drops! As if they chose a pharmacist who had beef with one of the consultants to investigate the grievance! WTF!!

Ian Harvey has a selective memory doesn't he?
Can't wait for the oral evidence and watching them all sweat as they scramble to save their own sorry arses and chuck each other under Letby's juggernaut bus. It's so clear already who's lying through their teeth.

Also big up to Rachel Langdale KC who put in an absolute shift today 😘

ETA.. did I also hear a Miss Slingo mentioned? Interesting name 👀👀👀

I’m so frigging annoyed right now! I paused iplayer to put my son to bed. I was gone less than half an hour and the whole Roku stick turned itself off so I lost the streaming 😩 I was at 2.20pm and hoping to finish it off uninterrupted this evening.

The thirlwall website says transcripts will be made available so I hope it’s published in full.

Strange how the NG planks are very very quiet on Twitter. I can only find one or two hashtags regarding the inquiry. Why so quiet weirdos? Is it because you've realised today that actually she's as guilty as sin, and worse has been enabled by a corrupt system?
They don't want to draw attention to the inquiry because it makes Letby look the the murdering pos that she is

I really hope so too. Was amazing to listen knowing we were getting the whole story for once and gutted to have missed the last bit. I must have got to around the same place I think.
I’m trying to look over the Chester reporting now. Finding it interesting that of the 13 deaths clearly being investigated, it seems that A, D, O, P and I are repeatedly mentioned but then at times, different people suggest that 2 further deaths are looked into forensically. Now presumably if these two were C and K then they would also be referred to so they must be different babies and if the docs were concerned then I’d bet Letby was 100% on shift and involved in their care.

I’m like this at the email she sent to her colleagues to say she had been exonerated and would be returning to the unit. Even in a world where she was wrongly accused, I don’t know how that email could ever be appropriate. It was not for her to send those type of emails!
I feel like this email is a really interesting window into her personality. Like you said, WHO the hell would send an email like this. It's not for her to send and the whole tone of it is weird. Absolutely 100% power play and God complex at play here. She's loving it.

It's a shame the whole recording wasn't saved on iplayer :(.

You seem to have an obsession with what you believe the unit did wrong. At the end of the day, it's a fairly unprecedented situation. We can see from today how many chances were missed and they mainly come from a management level. You seem to be more miffed at the unit than the baby murderer...

The absolute brass neck of her to send an email like that. I found it jaw dropping that she had the nerve to send it. I can't believe nobody pulled her up on it.

The tea party was a big power play. They'd gone to all that effort and she was cool and aloft. Didn't want to build bridges and come across as a victim. Got Mummy and Daddy involved, why was her mum reading a statement out on her behalf when she was there?

Why, why, why were they more concerned about pandering to Letby and avoiding a potential employment claim than they were about what was happening to those babies? It makes no sense. All the fuss about her welfare and ensuring she was okay boils my blood.
Because she’s a young, white, blonde, thin, blue eyed, relatively normal looking woman. Had she been someone who was a little large or unattractive they’ve had been on her. Also she used to be very close friends with a lot of management. Nurses are very cliquey too which doesn’t help cos she was well liked and having worked in hospitals for over decades now there’s always been a doctors vs nurses culture. And those who suck up to management get the best treatment and get away with anything.

I was watching until early afternoon but then had to go out for a few hours. I assumed I would be able to continue rewatching when I returned (really disappointed).

yes I’ve noticed this. We’ve always said it but I’m more convinced than ever that there are at least two other babies she’s killed, but for some reason they’ve struggled with the evidence to charge her.

I am also reading CS reports (Mark has definitely upped his game in the past year 😂) and it’s so frustrating seeing them come close to calling police but then not for some reason that’s not clear yet.

I notice Jane Hawdon initially issued her report in November 2016 but it took until 13 April 2017 for Harvey to ask ‘what do you mean by forensic review’!!! And even then… it took another 2-3 weeks for Chambers to report to the police. 🤯

Yet end of June/July 2016 you had multiple people suggesting the police for the first time.

Stephen Cross - Director of Corporate Legal Services:

Sian Williams - Deputy Director of Nursing:

Even Tony Chambers himself mooted it in July 2016:

CS2CR just put an enquiry video up. It's over 4hrs long and looks like a recording of events, so those of you that missed out might be able to rewatch most of it on there.
