I’m not for or against the death penalty really, it’s a tricky one, but in cases like this & for people like that, it’s needed. She doesn’t deserve a life. I sound heartless but after what she’s done it’s the least she deserves.

I am for the death penalty in certain cases (e.g. Ian Watkins , Dale Creegan) but I think in this case having the death penalty could’ve made it even harder for the jury to reach an agreement, given that we know they weren’t unanimous on all charges (which is wild IMO but that’s another discussion).

Id happily see her given the death penalty, but personally I’d like to see her injected with air every day for the rest of her miserable life, see how she likes it.

I don't think her parents will accept it. I've seen parents of terrible criminals protect them, lie for them, give them money, abuse others who didn't similarly excuse them etc. And some of those were criminals where the parents DID accept the verdict - they just made excuses for their little darling. I think they'll help Letby continue lying about her victimhood for the rest of their lives.

Her parents will be relocating as we speak to near to what ever prison she's been took to. Her dad will probably looking for some barrister to find a loop hole to get her out If they've believed she hasn't done it all the way through they're not going to change there opinion any time soon. Perhaps Her friend Dawn could relocate with them too? Stupid cow

I'm not sure what's worse- loose your child or to see your child severely disabled and fully dependent on other till the end of the lifetime
I know it might sounds awful but watching your child suffering while seeing your child peers who are growing up more and more independent and enjoying life to the fullest sounds like a torture. Not to mention constant worry what will happen with your brain damaged child when you gone

I don't think her parents will accept it. When did she stop working at the Countess? I am from Chester, I’ve followed this case but I can’t remember when she stopped working at Chester hospital? Did she go onto work somewhere else? or did she stop working?

She should have been dragged to court kicking and screaming. These murderers should be forced into court, not given an option!

Respectfully, I can't imagine many of us with severely disabled children would rather our children had been murdered.

I just view things a bit differently because in my husband family one of the cousins had car accident (caused by drunk driver) and he need round the clock care. It's a torture to see him so poorly without the chances of ever getting better.
Personally I would rather die than live like this but again- its just my opinion, I'm not saying people with such a severe disabilities are less worth living- of course not. My family know I don't want to be keep alive if I ever have accidents and end up in vegetative state, I want my organs to be donated and help others if that ever happens to me.

If they have any decency as humans they will feel overwhelming guilt for the rest of their lives. They could have taken her off the ward and some of those babies would be living their lives as they should have been, but their decisions allowed her to keep killing. To most people having that on their conscience would be the greatest punishment there could be.

Yes, just saw that as I posted my reply. It’s very confusing that the letters have changed and it does feel wrong.

The name of one is still included in the sentencing remarks, though. I’ve screenshot and highlighted that bit, and emailed to both the general and press email addresses on the website so fingers crossed someone sees it.
After all this time of the babies’ names being protected, for one to be published in this way is so careless.

I really feel like they shouldn’t have changed how the babies have been referenced throughout. I know it isn’t their names, and obviously those in court would have heard their names and it’s probably unimportant to most. However, for anyone reading up later and wanting to cross reference verdicts against sentencing remarks on there, well it isn’t going to make any sense. I wonder how the news will present it hopefully they report it properly.

The premeditated nature of the crimes, lack of remorse and damaging public trust in the profession are all aggravating factors, so he gave her the absolute max sentence.

Very telling that her defence team could offer absolutely nothing in mitigation.

Her defence KC’s position is that she didn’t do it. He can’t say “she says she’s innocent BUT if she did do it then you should consider XYZ as mitigation”.

I know that Letby is the one who killed but those managers didn’t care enough about dead babies and their parents.

They were more concerned about being sued for ‘bullying’ by a nurse and the Gobshite radiator flogging dad advising her.

They need to be prosecuted as a message to other NHS managers who also currently don’t give a tit.
