Can optic neuritis be related to a brain condition? I'm a bit thick when it comes to medical stuff
Not usually, it can come from some meds, autoimmune issues, hyperthyroidism, sometimes raised or lowered intracranial pressure, eye pressure etc, but not with anything that causes psychiatric issues.

I get it as I have an ongoing brain fluid leak and that can cause a few memory issues, but I doubt she could have attended trial if she had that. And it wouldn’t affect personality in that way really, you’d have to have some sort of damage to the bit of the brain that processes empathy/impulse for that to be the case and leaks mainly affect the cerebellum instead.

Fuckinghell. Just caught up. Feel very emotional indeed.

Mixed feelings - feel for the parents that didn't get their guilty verdicts.

Typical behavious for an evil narcissistic piece of tit to not come out of her cell (she should be forced on Monday)

Knew her folks were wronguns/had issues/just plain dim just from their behaviour while waiting for court the day I went.

SO bleeping ANGRY at the bleeps running that hospital - made those doctors write apologies to Letby - wtf. Guarantee Karen Rees etc all will come out of this scot-free - they should bleeping go down. Fair play to Ravi for his post.

Stuff that comes out is gonna be bleeping upsetting and there'll be plenty more. So bleeping angry at her and the bleeps who run the hospital -they have to have psycopathic tendencies somewhere to cover this tit up lke this surely?

Wish I could go for a drink tonight with all you great people.

OMG 🤬🤬 just heard the consultants were (against their will) made to write her a letter apologising for any distress caused originally for naming her after a hospital enquiry found no issues and was returned back to the unit.

I could even understand if she just said “take me instead” but to say “I did it” .. wtf 😳😳
She sounds deranged like her daughter. I’ve no sympathy any more for her Mum and Dad, the dad having long meeting with the CEO’s, I can imagine him demanding that the consultants apologise to the rum of the earth. They are reaping what they sowed!

She’s been indulged her whole life, treated like a golden egg and in turn she’s managed to alter her personality, vulnerable, innocent, sweet and harmless in order to fly under the radar. I know exactly what she is, I knew one, I was friends with one and I know the lengths they go to. They are ALWAYS the victim
You were on the money describing her as a fragile narcissist, it’s got so many classic signs.

Bet they played the mental health card to get the consultants to apologise. Just another layer of depravity.

Sorry and at work and not keeping up with the thread...

Am I right in thinking she not only is not attending in-person on Monday, but she has asked not to appear via video link from prison on Monday for sentencing?

Why did the CEO hold a meeting with her dad?? What did her dad do for living? Union repping?

Followed these threads from the start although haven't commented since early on in the trial. I voted guilty every time. So glad she has finally been found guilty! Do we know why she wasn't there to hear the verdict? Or why her mum an dad wasn't there? Im thinking they got told to expect the worst and not turn up for fear of what might have happened outside court with paps etc

Its absolutely disgusting and unthinkable....I don't remember reading anything about the apology letter in the trial, I wonder why it wasn't touched upon in court.

The parents on sky news said that one of her colleagues was saying to her during her child’s resus that she hadn’t done anything, so her colleagues must have known full well that there was a notion of a murderer on the ward

Really weird isn't it? It leads your brain down a path........ 2+2=4 (Sometimes)
They're a very creepy family tbh. I always found her parent's extreme involvement in her life disturbing. That didn't make her a killer but she was never going to be emotionally healthy. If you grow up in a bubble with just your parents sheltering you from reality - you must have such a skewed view of right/wrong. Almost like she lived in a parallel universe to the rest of us.

My partner's eldest brother is like this. 40 years old and despite being very intelligent and academic has never worked - and his mum encourages him to stay at home, doing everything for him. Even when he miraculously found himself a gf, the mum refused to let him have her over and of course the relationship ended. He has no concept of right and wrong and is entitled. Borrows money and refuses to pay it back, in fact is shocked that he's expected to pay it back. Hacked into my partner's email just because he could and had no remorse when found out. He's not a killer but i think what separates him and LL is that LL probably sits further down the psychopath spectrum than he does.
