If anyone refuses to go into the dock to attend trial or sentencing, but especially to avoid victim impact statements, it should be broadcast on the entire wing of the prison into their cell directly. And their reactions to it televised.

I forgot to have lunch and my phone battery got down to 5% so I had to eventually move!

TV off now though and just reading on here.

Feel oddly disjointed from this now it's everywhere.
Yeah, I was the same with the Star trial, same feeling again today especially now every Tom, fool and Harry is popping up here and there with their opinion.

I still can’t believe it’s done (I know it’s only the start with the investigation ongoing but you get what I mean). I feel drained - god knows how those poor people at the heart of it all feel (not Letby, she can get ducked).

Just thought that the whole prison will now know she's been convicted once she gets back there, and probably will know some of the extra details that have now come out.

The footage of her getting arrested is just like her letting the gas man in 😂

Aye just come in nee botha.

Not what's it for or anything like that.

Or is that how people who think they're posh act?
exactly, it’s weird. Like expected.

if the police showed up at my door I’d just immediately start crying thinking one of my family had died in a car accident or something

I hope she is on suicide watch as I can see her taking the easy way out. She surely is getting a whole life tariff…
She should be made to listen to the impact statements like the families have had to listen to throughout the trial…

@xhc___ … get in here and spill the beans

So! One of my colleagues at the hospital said she had a relative who worked at Rampton and that letby had gone for a walk around during jury deliberations as they felt the verdict would be guilty and she on the walk around said to senior nurses that she “loved” Beverly allitt’s work and that she hoped they would be able to hang out together if she ends up being placed here!!!!!!

Anyone else feeling more sorrow than joy? Obviously I’m SO happy she’s getting punished for her acts but also nothing will bring those babies back. As much as we all knew she did it, deep down I just wanted it to be a huge misunderstanding, as I’m sure a bunch of you guys did too. She did this, she took those babies from this earth and left devastation in her wake. Just feels so much more real.
I haven’t posted here before but had to reply to this one because I know exactly what you mean.

If it hadn’t been a deliberate act - if it hadn’t been for one person - those babies would be with their families now. It could have been prevented. It shouldn’t have been able to happen.

If it was accidental, natural causes, complications of their conditions, something like that, it isn’t easier in any way. It still happened. The babies are still no longer here, but it couldn’t have been avoided.

I’m glad she’s facing justice. I’m glad for the families that this part is over. But I wish they didn’t ever have to go through it in the first place, all because of one person.

Was she refusing to leave the prison and go to court at all, or was she in the holding cell at court?
I read it that she stayed at court and didnt come up - she would be going to court even to sit there under it rather than get disciplinaries at prison and more lock up

I followed the trial really closely, and all of your posts. I became afraid to post because of worry about contempt of court, wasn’t sure how it worked. I’d just like to say that I am thinking of the babies and their families and I am also thinking of a couple of others. Poor Dr Gibbs who retired from his long career only to find himself involved in a harrowing murder enquiry. Dr Evans who had his reputation destroyed by BM. There are more victims but these 2 really bother me
