So if the unthinkable happens and we have a hung jury…. Does she walk? Or is she still held on remand while the CPS decide on a retrial or not?

It doesn’t bear thinking about does it, she won’t walk, the CPS will have to decide what charges they’re going to go for a retrial on, but then she’ll probably appeal being held on remand.
Even then, a retrial will cost so much more money that I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if the CPS suddenly discontinued a lot of their caseload, under the guise of not enough evidence but really to recoup money.

Anyway, that’s an entirely hypothetical scenario and we shouldn’t worry about that without facts, she’s still more likely than not to be going down forever.

My hope is maybe there are a couple who are struggling with the evidence, but are open to changing their minds once the other jurors have talked them through it. And it’s just taking time to go through each one. We are still only about 4hrs deliberation per charge and that’s without breaks.

I also have visions of the deliberation room being like these early threads, very tense

This is what I’m hoping to. The obvious ones they have decided on already and just a couple of the attempted murder they are sure.
This is complete speculation on my part but I’m also bearing in mind I think a lot of the jurors will be older/retirement age due to the length of the trial/the judge mentioned the jurors wouldn’t experience too much financial hardship so might be finding the technical information a lot to get their head around and I feel they would be more thorough too. Sorry I’m being agist there so hope I don’t offend anyone that’s not my intention just wishful thinking

I got so confused because it wouldn’t accept my normal email address so I had to create a new one ending in ‘tl’ I was getting annoyed whenever my family tried speaking to me because I couldn’t concentrate

Sorry if we’ve already discussed this but how long was the Harold shipman and Beverly allit cases giving evidence for? Is the length of deliberation longer because there is more evidence to go through maybe?

Hazza had 4 months of evidence and Bev’s entire trial lasted two months. So yes this is longer. But I’m worried by BMG’s interference yesterday that it means something re how they’re getting on?

I really do wonder what she (LL) must be thinking or feeling right now. From what I have read she has showed such little emotion during the trial when you think of the awful nature of what has happened. I wonder if she is shitting a brick worrying about it all, or just that it's gone on so long and just wants to know like the rest of us and perhaps has a pretty solid idea of the way this will turn out. Sorry, I'm just musing really, we will never really know what the hell goes on in her head.

I don’t follow trials but there was a murder in my area a couple of years ago which is pretty mental for where I live, so I did follow that, the first trial ended with a hung jury and they immediately announced that they’d be pursuing a retrial and the guy was remanded. Don’t know if that’s the norm tho

I’d say she’s enjoying every minute of it, unfortunately.

Ok I saved the day, did round 1 on the office so at least the surfaces are clear and and ready for round 2 as soon as I can get around to it!

30 minutes on the bike this evening, I won’t be getting off the couch for at least an hour, those hills are a nightmare!!

I followed the Star Hobson trial and the threads here were good to discuss. Especially as the main reporter was amazing. No falling asleep from him.

Well done @A mega Pint! That’s great going. I’ve been a lazy tit and haven’t got off the couch most of the day.

You should see a noticeable improvement in your fitness levels in 2-3 weeks. Just don’t overdo it! I need to get off my hoop tomorrow.
