@Caledonianprincess - was just about to say get yourself a Perfect Prep, but you're one step ahead. That thing was a game changer when I had my 3rd!

I never managed to breastfeed any of my boys (very flat nipples when I had my 1st at 18, and I had a breast reduction after being told I'd probably never have any more babies...only to then go on to have 2 more!). With my 1st, I'd never planned to do anything other than breastfeed, so "failing" triggered horrific PND as I was bombarded with breast-is-best messaging. You've achieved so much, 8wks is no joke and you've given the wee man such a great start. But you need to put your mental health first, and duck anyone who tries to make you feel like anything other than the supermum you are 🩵🩵

I never breastfed any of mine they went straight on cow and gate, no judgement from me to anyone who chooses not to have a kid swinging off their tit for whatever their reasons ❤ we’re all doin our best

I have bought the perfect prep machine and formula then bfed mini me and tomorrow I start on a new feeding journey. I'm unsure if I'm better cutting down slowly or just going for it. I'm sore and engorged a bit as it is and that's with regular feeding

Ps to keep on topic Lucy is a massive jobby 💩🤣
I'd do it gradually to avoid your boobs becoming engorged.

Best to replace a breastfeed a day or so with a formula feed and wean the boob down that way rather than just stopping altogether, especially with your history of mastitis. It can be a big change on the baby’s digestive system too switching all at once so for both reasons best to do it slowly. ♥

Perfect prep machine is one of the best inventions ever and I will not hear differently! Bottle fed my daughter and will be with the new one when he gets here. duck what anyone says, fed is best and you do what works for you and your baby!

well let’s just see if you need to be able to have a few Proseccos this week 🤞🏼🤞🏼❤

Im so sorry you reached that point, but the strength and resilience you have is amazing. Im so glad you reached out here too. Forget a hand hold, I’m sending a (gentle) bear hug - in fact I’ll pick up the bus from where LL left it, I’ll fill it with tattlers and we’ll head north o’ the border for a massive recharging hug for all.
Yes yes yes - count me in ❤❤😉😂🍻

But if we asked you next week, would you remember you owned it?!
Omg Della liked my post - I’m fan girling as though a celeb has noticed me 😂 the day she replies to me (ideally with something insulting) I’ll know I’ve made it on here.

I see you as the mother figure of the thread @DellaC (not in age though, I promise 😂)

I'll probably drop a mid day feed first then and see how we go will keep the first morning and night time for now as night to morning is when I get most engorged

I always just got 2 flasks. Filled one with boiled water and one with cooled boiled water for making bottles. Did the trick for my kids. Or sometimes just got the pre made bottles you can pour straight into their bottle.

That’s a plan (y) I feel for you, I was ready to give up then too but told myself to get to 6 weeks and miraculously by that week it had improved but that was down to a lot of support, got a great HV. I remember you saying you didn’t have much support before which is a shame, I don’t even think we live far from each other too. You’ve done amazing, your baby would rather have a happy mum ♥

New game to cheer us all up.
What was the last sentence spoken in your house?
The last sentence spoken in our house just seconds ago
“Darling , could you not stick your nose up your sister’s mole” ( spoken to the spaniel sniffing the cat’s behind - again)

over to you ..

There isn't a lot of support but the support I do have is appreciated. I'm not far at all from Stirling :) thank you that means a lot as does all the other supportive messages from everyone else I appreciate every single one of you all and them
