Spoiler: I've had very sad news.

I've had some very sad news tonight that one of my closest friends has died, this is totally out of the blue as they weren't ill. I can't quite believe it and can't process it just now. She is such a lovely person and would do anything for you. There's a truth in the good die young.

It blows my mind when people who believe Lucy is innocent then go on to blame another individual like Dr Gibbs. If you can believe an individual is responsible then why not Lucy? They’ve no idea what she’s capable of. Why defend a complete stranger and blame another?

This really highlights his inability to accept the facts of the case. Even facts that have come from Lucy herself.

She had PTSD as a result of the arrests, as determined by a prison doctor.
She wrote the notes before her arrests.

So she couldn’t possibly be writing the notes because she had ptsd.

The force of this thread is strong. I got offered the job I mentioned interviewing for here last week.... And then I turned it down because I actually realised I wanted the other role I interviewed for at the same time. Yesterday they emailed to offer me the that role we're still ironing out details, but yeah.

In other sad news, Psycho Sootie (my profile pic) will be pts this week, he has mouth cancer. He's 14, and was my younger daughter's 10th birthday present. I'm just glad we can do this kindest thing for animals.

I was chatting to someone who knows Janet C (the lady who is often at court with LL - her “best friend”) and they said BM had some good defence experts but did not present them as they thought they would be torn apart in cross examination and that would be damaging to the defence. So tactical? Yes.

The fact that they didn’t use them because they would be torn apart in cross speaks volumes imo.

Having worked in both clinical and non-clinical areas of the NHS since I was a student in 2007, I have to rubbish the blame culture thing that's often banded about as rife or normal in the NHS.

I don't doubt there are some areas where bullying and blame are happening, but it's not typical and certainly not worse than anywhere else I've worked (and certainly a million miles from the toxic cesspit that was my time in housing). From midwifery, to cardiology, to health improvement and public health, all I've ever witnessed is people who really want to help people, care about their work and support one another.

In fact, the people who did moan or claim someone was against them were either old-schoolers on the brink of retirement who struck me as struggling to cope with change, or lazy arseholes who didn't last very long in their jobs and blamed their failings on everyone else despite being given every chance to ask for help or improve.

No one is throwing Lucifer under a bus. She's managed to simultaneously throw herself under and reverse over herself all at once.

Not drunk, but my absence from the threads last Saturday was partly due to having a few too many at a garden party, tripping over and nosediving, forward pike with twist, straight into the pond. Head to toe in chickweed and slime.

oh wow! I have been so wondering this for a long long time and I’ll say that the second I mentioned it to my mum (yes the family member I’m always trying to be ambiguous about by calling they/them like she’s Sam fucking Smith ) said “so she’s a copycat killer”
I have always thought too far fetched but.. even just the twin thing had me thinking.. was that to one up on Allitt? She tried to kill twins but didn’t manage. Jesus. Really hope when all the disturbing details come out, the Facebookers, social media “scientists”, Nutty Professors and Green Goblins feel embarrassed and shut the fuck up!

The scapegoat theory really is the biggest load of bollocks I’ve ever heard - even at peak NG slingo I wasn’t having it. The insulin shows you that. It’s the clearest evidence they have, and they waited like two years after her first arrest before they even thought about those incidents let alone linked it to her. How lucky for the Gang of Four. The women they’ve been trying to scapegoat for the unexplained deaths was also 1 of only 2 nurses at these dodgy insulin events that happen in the same time period.

The thing I really don’t get about the scapegoat theory is that the people who would have benefitted from her being a scapegoat were the ones actively pushing for more investigation. If I done something wrong at work and clients weren’t complaining (as appears to be the case here, the families weren’t asking q’s) you can be damn sure I wouldn’t be encouraging my boss to delve more deeply in the hope he’d blame someone else the whole thing falls apart when you remember no one was looking into this until staff within the NHS pushed for it. Why would they push for more scrutiny if they’d done something wrong? Not to mention the person scapegoated conveniently then has 250 handover notes, hundreds of Facebook searches including of families directly involved, confession notes and was the only staff member involved in every single incident. The most obvious theory is usually correct and in this case the facts just don’t add up to her being scapegoated(?), you have to completely twist what happened to fit the narrative

Ah I forgot about him! There was also a doctor in NI who was doing spinal blood injections as routine treatment for headaches I think he’s been booted off now…

there was a doctor spunking in coffee in the news last week. The NHS has more than enough nutters in it but the cases of negligence we hear about are because of the rarity. It’s like knowing that flying is the safest form of travel - an air disaster is tragic, but every few seconds hundreds of people take off and are unscathed on their journey. Every single doctor will make decisions - whether it’s a quick prescription signature/requesting a test all the way to operating or breaking bad news - on above 50 different people a day.

im not downplaying anyone who has been affected by the NHS - I have my own story of being let down. But a lot of these cases need to be seen in context. The surgeons using the vaginal mesh for example were skilled and trained to believe that the trials for them were successful - they didn’t knowingly do harm. Does that come down to the pharma side or the NHS - discussion for another time maybe.

the NHS as we know it is surviving on good will and dedication from the staff only. It’s incredibly broken and I can say that as a professional and a patient. I also work in consultancy with companies who look at the design and modification of healthcare systems here and internationally- the perfect model will never exist as we have human error which will always exist. We all know or are someone who has had a horrific experience - it is often multi factorial. But the design of the NHS and the revalidation etc around it is there to prevent coincidences which is what brought me here knowing her guilt without hearing 95% of the evidence.

Exactly this! It’s mind blowing. There’s nO EviDenCe it’s Letby but quite happy to suggest it’s a totally innocent man, with no bag of horrors, no parent stalking, no continuous attention seeking, proven not there for a vast amount of the incidents.. I could go on and on.
