Last words spoken: "stop wriggling, you stupid worm" to a stupid worm who had come in over the kitchen step (lots of rain here) and who my wife was trying to pick up to put back in the flowerbed.

Just counted up how many times I've fed mini Caledonian since 25th may when I started using my feeding app. I've fed him 617 times. I'm actually staggered that's an insane amount of ounces of milk

I hope being able to see that in black and white has made you feel better about switching now. You've done amazingly. The only wrong way is the Lucy Letby way.

Hoping court is back tomorrow and we have a verdict this week. They’ve all had a week to think about their decisions even if they haven’t been in court discussing it all so we can’t be far off 🤞🏼

Can I have a hand hold please? I've been breastfeeding mini Caledonian for 8wks as of today but I need to stop for my mental health as it's starting to really dip and today I was ready to walk out my front door and not come back home for a while. I want to have me back but slightly sad that I'm "giving" up but I know I need to put my mental health first
Aww please don't beat yourself up over this! Your mental health has to come first, how can you look after a little family if you don't take care of you first. Baby will be just fine on formula, you stuck it out for those important first weeks but quality of life is so important please be gentle with yourself.

Sending you and everyone else having a tough time a huge hug xx

My top 3 songs (all nostalgic).

Toto - Africa
Richard Marx - Hazard
Level 42 - it's over

All of them bring back really vivid memories for me.

Just been woken up to absolute carnage thought we was bein burgled. One of the kids has left the bathroom window open and a cats got in and basically ran riot woke all the kids up and my youngest is acting like he’s just witnessed the depths of hell so he’s in my bed watching teletubbies whilst I try and silently finish my bueno

I hope courts on tomorrow

I got to 11 weeks and had to stop for my sanity so would say you are absolutely doing the right thing (it was 20 odd years ago). Whilst I was disappointed the things I visualised doing for a break meant I totally had too - diagnosed with PND shortly after x

Sorry that you ended up with pnd. I can feel myself slipping and it's not a nice feeling. My sister said that while yes breastfeeding is good it's not worth losing your sanity and she is totally right. Mr Caledonian said I've not been right for weeks and he could see me getting worse. Yesterday just tipped me over the edge and I was even snapping at the dog. That's when it's really bad 😞

Sunflower lecithin is a good supplement for helping prevent mastitis - just incase it helps while reducing feeds - meant to make your milk less likely to clog up x

The BF groups on fb are so toxic too, they all say 'don't quit on a bad day' when someone's posted that they're struggling. So when I was having a tit day I'd give a bottle then keep persisting with it, even though I started having more bad days than good. I don't think id do it again if I had another.

Last sentence in my house - 'she's trying, she's wiggling her bum'. Baby settles herself back to sleep by wiggling her bum around, it's adorable but I just went to get her up after she shouted and noticed she was trying to settle herself back off so I legged it back out and celebrated a few more mins of peace 😂

Firstly it’s good that you’ve recognized how you feel. A lot of people don’t.
Mini Caledonian isn’t going to look back in 20yrs time & think “I wished my ma breast fed me”.
Don’t put so much pressure on yourself & don’t listen to anyone trying to guilt you over it, they are probably dicky gill fans anyway! I have heard amazing stories re the perfect prep sending big hugs x

On another note, if court isn’t on today I’m jumping on the tp express straight to Manchester to boot off, then in my pure rage ima do a one woman slow march in the road akin that of the just stop oil…
Sure work will understand…

Fed is best. Always.

It doesn't matter if it's breastmilk or formula. Nuts are part of a healthy balanced diet for many people, but for others they trigger life-threatening anaphylaxis. I don't see the pushiness around breastfeeding that new mums face as much different from aggressively telling nut allergy sufferers that they MUST have nuts because they're full of healthy goodness, and maybe they just need some extra support to eat them, and are they sure they've tried everything?

The word "natural" gets abused and misused a lot here, e.g. "Women have been doing this for millennia. Your body naturally provides for your baby's needs!" Not true. The infant mortality rate was sky-high for millennia too, and breastfeeding difficulties played their part in that. If it's not working for you or your baby, it makes perfect sense to switch to bottle. Don't ever feel guilty for nourishing your baby.
