That concludes the prosecution's closing speech.

Does anyone else just feel like they're going to burst into tears?
I just hope the jury is made of of sensible people with the ability to think logically and critically and see her for what she is.
I just have as I've caught up. BNE has worked his arse off and I've not been to court, so it's only from following on here and the news reporting, but it feels that from day one of his opening speech, until he delivered his very last couple of lines, as he has been the voice for every one of those little babies who have suffered on the.most horrific of ways and also their parents, who have had to sit on silence.
Mr Johnson. KC I salute you❤❤

Mr Myers recalls Child E's mother's statement on the 'bleed coming out of the mouth.'

A description was made around the mouth and the chin.

He says on cross-examination, it was "agreed it was not completely fresh".

He says he suggested it could have been aspirate.

The mother disagreed.

Mr Myers says there is no suggestion by any doctor/nurse of Child E screaming.

The neonatal schedule for Child E on August 3 is shown.

He says Caroline Oakley is involved in giving medication to Child F at 9.13pm, with Child F 'being near Child E at the time'.

Mr Myers says it isn't about lying, it is up to the jury to draw "a fair conclusion"

He says no-one else had seen anything that coincides with this.
9.13pm was after the mother had settled her screaming baby and been sent back to the parents unit. Of course Caroline didn’t see anything because Letby had cleaned up the baby by then.

And yet again the unit is so busy that ‘loads of staff would have come running’ to a screaming baby yet so understaffed that babies died from neglect. Ok Ben. He’s doing the exact same he’s accusing prosecution of doing.

Lasagne with salad and garlic bread in our gaff tonight.

Feels like a good day to take up a new hobby. The council are painting some fences round the corner. Perhaps I'll go and check on the progress of that.

It's either finished for the day or BNE has got up and hoofed BM square in the knackers...

If not and they somehow find her not guilty I will lose faith in the jury system in quite a big way, ngl.

I think I’ll be taking some time away from it also, I will dip in and out but from today, I don’t think I can bear to hear it or worry whether he will manage to cast doubt. I’ll come back in properly for the judges direction as it will be done then won’t it, all in the juries hands…I just hope they make the right decision 😩

I’m genuinely curious to hear the viewpoints of whoever voted still unsure or not guilty, what is it that creates doubt for you? Not to argue, or try to change your mind but I wonder if those on the jury might have issues with the same things…

I’ve noticed the fb group has gone off on one. Lots of bickering and mod warnings. They’re not allowed to use laugh reacts or anything because it’s “inflammatory” 😂

What does this mean?? Too late in the day to insinuate “it” is someone else? Does he mean the murderer?? FView attachment 2266899
First it's a gang of 4 at CoCH, now a gang of 3 unrelated medical experts, and finally it's another murderer on the unit.

Ahahahahaha, he was doing alright for a minute there but he's made himself look a silly conspiracy theorist with no evidence, no experts who would say otherwise and zero facts to support his claims.

From Reddit. Seems this is BM’s playbook.

Monaghan murdered 2 children and poisoned his partner.

Just a quick question, does anyone know? Given that it appears BM appears to have misunderstood the two insulin results and as such, potentially misled the jury in respect of the two " insulin incidents", will there be any opportunity for the prosecution to correct him/make things clear to the.jury, given that this is a fairly crucial piece of evidence?
Surely he can't get away with that, intentional.or nit?

If anyone is finding this really hard to follow/frustrating, I’d suggest taking a break because it’s not going to get any better over the next 5 days ❤

I wonder if part of the time will be spent on internal discussions or judge's instructions too. And maybe not a full working week? I can't imagine BM's speech will be that long given how brief his opening was and his defence.
I can’t see it being more than one day! I hope for the juries sake they might still be on track for sometime during wb 3rd July.
Hoping the triplets parents are relieved to have a break today of all days but guess it could work either way for them 😞 they might have wanted to just plough on. Fingers crossed this is the last disruption of the home stretch to justice.

Thanks for all the sweet bday messages for my MMMBoy! Wishing a lovely day to any little (gingers) ones celebrating today/soon as well! Xx you’re a lovely bunch of bastards xx

He says the unit was "noticeably busier" than it had been in previous years, and there was "no change in the staffing levels".

He says doctors are "running to and from the neonatal unit" in emergencies. He cites an example in the final collapse of Child I.
I would question his definition of busy, bearing in mind LL seemed to have plenty of time on shift to be faffing around on her phone.
Doesn't sound so busy to me.
Next excuse......?
