Tbh I really don’t think this is going away, I think her being considered a scapegoat will probably become one of the UK’s next big conspiracy theories.

The fact that hummingbird is still going is also an important point. I hate that it’ll probably come out that she has allegedly harmed more innocent babies, but maybe that’ll also go some way towards crushing some of the utterly absurd theories and hatred of the NHS / hcp’s in general that we’re seeing flying around at the moment.

I think if I was on this jury I would just deactivate all my social media while it was on going

This is a really dumb question, but what additional evidence could they research? How would they even find any other evidence when it's not in the trial. Would it be things like people's experiences, articles from her arrest?

Yeah. I feel as though, if found guilty, the psychological profile will be a bit different to what we are used to from women killers.
Not MBP, not the accomplice of a man, not doing it for financial gain. Its more like a male profile.
If the verdict comes in as guilty, I do hope Americans pick up on it so they can get some of these ex FBI serial killer profiler types to comment because I am interested in what the experts make of it all.

I think it’s more that they could Google her and see places like this or the conspiracy theorists and then they could be swayed either way. It’s not that there’s evidence but it’s more that they could be distracted by irrelevance and then an unconscious bias when being presented with the information in court

what happens if the jury agree on some of the charges but cannot agree on others? Is the whole trial then completely ducked? Ie if they agree on like 20 of the charges and then are hung on the remaining 2?

I do believe LL is guilty (now) but I have to say that Facebook post reflects badly on the person who made it as well. Really spiteful reading.

There are scientific journals online describing other premature babies's care and research studies. So the danger is the jury doing there own research with proper scientific articles but maybe not fully following them or comparing them to the babies inappropriately. The evidence they need to use is what's been approved by the prosecution and defence. Certain people on Facebook keep linking these articles.

It’s not all or nothing. They will make individual judgement each of the (14?) charges and then sentencing comes after that. Technically they could find her guilty on May one count and she could be sentenced to life behind bars. I think?!

I’ve just listened to an audio book about Danish SK nurse Christina Aistrup Hansen. She was given life for 3 murders and 1 attempted murder but after a medical expert said at appeal that, as the patients were frail and had pre-existing conditions, it could not be determined how much of the unprescribed illegally introduced medication would kill them. Her conviction was changed to 4 counts of manslaughter and her sentence was reduced to 12 years. She will be eligible for parole in 2028.
Ehh, wtf!
