I've always just thought the digging up the garden was looking for more evidence related to the babies. She had over 250 handover sheets in her home so I think they just wanted to eliminate all possibilities that she'd hidden things.
Nah I agree, I feel they were either looking for something clinical or as you say, more paperwork or trophies. It was an interesting point about the animals though, I hadn’t thought about it before.

I couldn’t stand Dawson, can fully sympathise with the urge to slap him 😑
Watching it at 45 vs 20 the first time, I can now fully see that he is an incel.

Also still fancy Pacey.

(and also Joey)

Dawson's Creek on topic - Lucy is such an Andie McPhee

Good idea. I've also got nothing done in the house the last two days. In a way whilst I'm disappointed I'm also a bit relieved trial's not on until Wednesday gives me time to catch up at home. House needs cleaning, grass needs cutting and I desperately need to do a shop.
I'm the same! I've been speed cleaning but I need to have a good deep clean over the next few days not today though. Its beautiful outside so we'll make the most of it!

I have work to catch up on too but my hubby is my boss and he can't sack me...at least I don't think he can....🤔🤔🤔😆

I’ve no idea but maybe digging up the garden and paving at the front is routine for someone accused of such serious things? It does seem excessive for what she’s accused of though as they know the victims weren’t hidden at her property 💔. Perhaps they thought equipment she used or vials were though.
Talking of pets..
Just asked my pup if she’s been ripping the tassels off one of my blankets. She said “I can’t recall”
I asked if she knows why several witnesses have said they’ve seen her with tassels in her mouth and she said
“I can’t answer…I can’t answer that”
So I’m calling her Poocy Petby.

Baby Caledonian is still comfy where he is. Got started at 10 last night so I'm hoping he's going to be here today 🤞

Aww, fingers crossed! I have 3 boys, and all of them kept me waiting (sure my oldest would still be in there if he hadn't been medically evicted!).

I had a terrible dream about Forgetby last night 😭

Anyway, can anyone in the know confrm what level of observations she will be under? Will she be constantly monitored or because she's on remand will it be more relaxed?
I wouldn't put her on any level of obs as they love 1-1. They revel in the attention and will do anything to get back on them, they hate it when you back off.
Those who are truly mentally ill who are tormented and tortured with their illness or suffered trauma/abuse, I Would do 1-1 without a thought, it's a cruel illness and they deserve the utmost care and devotion. It used to break my ❤
(hospital setting BTW)
Plus she'd be 2-1 if on special obs because 100% she'd make wicked accusations

It’s awful. But I’m sorry how can anybody dispute that baby C didn’t die from having air forcefully put there. Like so many other babies in the case. So it is Sophie E or Letby who has done this. This is why even the defence have to accept that it’s a theory that someone did this (also because there’s no evidence of NEC etc). So you really have to believe it’s possible this happened to multiple babies connected to letby but each time it was never her. She hurt those babies.
Sorry to quote a post from so far back, but I can't keep up!

What has convinced me of her guilt is that there is no other plausible medical reason for these incidents to have happened. If we accept that these are deliberate acts, the next step is to examine who was present each time - and the answer is Letby.

A possible motive for her switching tactics to using insulin could be that this gave her time to remove herself from the scene. Especially if she thought others were getting suspicious.

I'll return to catching up, before court resumes next week!

That’s a fair shout about family pets though/them digging up the garden. If she’s harmed a cat too she can absolutely rot in hell. We have three and aside from my children the wee shites are my world. Anybody that can hurt an animal can absolutely hurt a child.
Yeah agree. I read something about psychopaths a few months back and killing or torturing an animal in childhood is a common theme. I don't think they see humans/animals as living beings they are just objects to them. I just keep thinking back to a documentary I watched on Brady and Hindley and them keeping some recordings of one of the victims screaming as a trophy. And photos of Hindley standing on one of the kids graves. The stuff yesterday about Letby taking her card back to work to photograph it where the baby died really really reminded me of that documentary

Still on my honeymoon and been unwell for the last 2 days, feeling pretty rotten but some of the posts on here have absolutely made me giggle. My husband has had to do the sightseeing we had planned without me and I’m peeved I’m missing out on it all so it’s nice to come back here and see the funny stuff.

Skipping through a lot of the more serious bits as the thought of her killing the babies and how she seems to have enjoyed having that power of them is making me feel more sick to be honest. After more of the cross examination yesterday she just seems guiltier and guiltier. I don’t know how anyone can say she’s coming across as innocent at this point, they are - as the kids seem to now be saying - delulu. Feel even more sick after saying that word, perhaps I’m simply too old for such nonsense 🤣

I would love to hear your court experience today if you don’t mind sharing! What a shame for you that they finished early though.
I couldn’t believe it was called off it looked like it was going to be, then they said back on in 5 but actually that was just to say it was ending. I found soooo much out in the morning though. I will write up all for anyone interested this aft and post it here.

I think she was switching tactics to avoid detection - that text convo she was having with another nurse who clearly had suspicions about 3 deaths in a short space of time, Letby went to great pains to point out that they all died for different reasons. Calculating, evil witch of a woman

yes I picked up on this yesterday!! She agreed it was unlawful. She doesn’t think it was targeted but she thinks it was a random act. I mean wtf, unless this has not been reported correctly, how on earth could she possibly know it was a random act and not a targeted one?

This is a real point of interest for me. It does look like everyone is in an agreement that foul play was the only possible answer for the insulin. When your defence is based on people conspiring against you and the fact the hospitals failings causes all the other deaths. It’s a big ask of the jury to expect them to believe that there’s an attacker for the one charge that you just happened to not be present at.( I know she hung the bag or whatever I think her defence here is that she wasn’t present for the actual collapse) it has only been briefly skimmed over and could be a reporting error so I’d like to hear a little bit more detail but if she is conceding that and you couple it with all the obvious lies with the handover sheets. You’ve also got her odd memory, she’s trying to say she can remember “insignificant” babies names to search families on Facebook years later. But now she’s on trial for their murder, she suddenly can’t remember. That’s just not gonna wash is it. I think she’s in a bit of a hole.

It’s the way she kept on at her colleague, going on about how it’s absolutely not suspicious that the babies died, that’s a red flag if I ever saw one

I think the clever fool qualifies for this
Whole life order starting point – the ‘exceptionally high' seriousness category
Sentencing Act 2020, Schedule 21, section 2

The starting point is a whole life order where the seriousness of the offence (or of the offence and other associated offences) is ‘exceptionally high’ and the defendant was aged 21 or over when the offence was committed.

Cases that would normally fall into this category include:

(a) the murder of two or more people where each murder involves (i) a substantial degree of premeditation/planning, (ii) abduction of the victim, or (iii) sexual or sadistic conduct;

(b) the murder of a child if involving the abduction of the child or sexual or sadistic motivation;

(c) the murder of a police officer or prison officer in the course of his or her duty, where the offence was committed on or after 13 April 2015,

(d) murder committed to advance a political/religious/racial/ideological cause;

(e) murder committed by a defendant with a previous conviction for murder.
