Thinks she can outthink NJ and convince everyone she’s innocent sweet LL.
For the parents, she’s shown us that she likes to lurk over parents grieving their tiny babies, even trying to snatch one away to take footprints before he died
She doesn’t care about causing them pain. In fact she seems to be enjoying dragging it out
Those poor, poor parents, also their extended families and loved-ones. I keep thinking of how, not only are they being tormented by having to relive the events in such a way, but the court has been happening on the anniversaries of losing their little-ones
The chance to grieve and spend those days as they would choose has also been taken from them.
God, she's an evil creature.
Absolutely this!! When they put it to her in police interview she just says it wasn’t me that did it. Can you imagine finding that out whilst sat there arrested, this is someone that believes she’s being targeted by consultants to look as though she killed babies and then she discovers someone’s been poisoning?? You’d be beside yourself surely. She was that scared of having her “capabilities” be thought of as being to blame for the deaths that she wrote her note “I’m evil I did this” yet she discovers someone really was harming babies and it’s like she’s being told something completely meh.
If I thought people were out to get me and they’d managed to get me arrested for things I didn’t do and then I found out for the first time that I could be linked to indisputable poisoning - I think I’d be vomiting.
She also seems to accept very quickly and calmly that one of her colleagues is murderous. For someone that thinks the babies all had normal reasons for dying.. like very common fatal air gulping, I’d have thought it was a shock.
When we’re basically in this mess because everyone else would have found it too hard to believe that anybody would cause the babies harm and hurt them and yet when Letby finds out there’s definitive proof that’s happened she’s like ‘oh right. Must have been in one of the bags. Wasn’t me though’.

It must be hard for her own parents sitting in the court so near to all the babies parents whilst all this is coming out and making her look more guilty than ever. I remember on the first day of the trial they were making love heart signs to her with their hands and she was mouthing "love you" back. I wonder if they're still certain of her innocence now deep down. I'm sure I read that BA's parents disowned her when they found out she was guilty. I think BA came from a bigger family with brothers and sisters so it might be a bit different for Letby's parents where they don't have other children.

. That took me days! Gutted I can no longer follow along live with you guys especially during such a pinnacle moment of the trial! But I’m absolutely under no circumstances allowed my personal phone during work hours…... understandably, unlike lucy forgetby (love whoever came up with that one!)
I fell asleep holding my phone last night reading this thread, I don’t even remember closing my eyes this new job is exhausting but I love it. Miss you all though.

Just had a thought on tigger and smudge and the previous garden digging up by the police! It is pretty morbid but this whole trial is so I’ll share anyway…. Do you think perhaps the police wanted to try and find out how they died ? (Don’t even know if that’s a thing that can happen regarding animals and how long ago tigger and smudge died and if it was possible) but maybe she experimented her methods on the kitties, she wrote about them over and over for one reason or another I don’t believe anyone is that obsessed with their pets without reason. I wouldn’t put it passed the sick witch And might explain the garden being dug over, could never really work that one out.

Her family stuck by her and believed her innocence. Her dad recently left her money in his will. Not 100% certain about whether siblings are still sticking by her but they certainly did in the beginning. Her sister took her baby to see her, can’t believe she named her Katie as well 🫤 which was one of the twins names.

I tried watching "Dawson's Crack" as my sister calls it again a few years back and duck me, Dawson is a wick. I used to think he was so deep and profound. I also never liked Joey or Jen when I was younger but they totally get my sympathy now! I had to turn it off after 15 mins because I wanted to slap Dawson so hard!
I would think there’ll be a lot of this happening once Letby is convicted too

Lucy being guilty is the end of her life as she knows it and people are capable of the most impressive self-denial! Also given the nature of the evidence (and the amount of people who still think she's innocent), if someone's viewpoint was not guilty because they don't want her to be I'm sure they can do some serious mental gymnastics and still be convinced of her innocence.

. She really is proof that you can't judge a book by its cover. Proper freak.I've had another thought about the sympathy card. She said she wrote it at home but in court they said she took a picture of it at work. You would think she would have photographed it straight after writing it, put it in the envelope and sealed it if her reasons were innocent. The number of times I've put a card in an envelope and sealed it and then wished I could add something but I can't because I've sealed it. She deliberately didn't take a photo at home or seal it because she was wanting to do this at the hospital where the baby had been murdered (for posterity). imo.
I know I’ve shared this before but I think it’s a very sad and interesting account from a nurse that worked with Allitt. All sounds very familiar.
