Following on from the last thread, just to avoid any further confusion brought to us by @MmmB777 and @DellaC …

We went to court yesterday. Arrived early- shouldn’t have bothered barely anyone arrived until 10:15. We went into court 8. I’m guessing there was overflow press in, some I guessed police and a few public members- perhaps 10. There was a little talk from the barristers before it began. Lucy was quietly spoken, faced ahead, never looked at the prosecution once, seemed particularly quiet with short answers to the prosecution, but a little more at ease with the judge. The prosecution man was lovely with her, not in the slightest intimidating, calm quiet and everything was said nicely. After the first hour he was asked to speak up not everyone in the other court rooms could hear. He very nicely asked Lucy if that was ok, that he wouldn’t use a different tone. Only that he would be louder. He did forget and he went quieter. He also asked her if she needed more time to look at things etc at times he thought she might need it. I was a newby to court and was expecting the prosecution to be quite firm, almost angry and he was the opposite. IMO if it was me in the box I wouldn’t be intimated by him. She only breaked to drink water once to my recollection. Tbc

I am quite pleased to almost end the thread on a nice note of my waters have finally broken themselves as well. Not before time as well as that was a 24hr pessary and a 6hr gel. I don't have a shredder, but I do have a shredder but it's not in its box, but the box is near the shredder but it's not in my house and it's used for bank statements except it's not used for bank statements because I don't know how to use a shredder although I do use the shredder at work for handover sheets but students don't get handover sheets unless they're me when I got loads and I saved them in a box called keep so that I could shred them later in a shredder than I don't have and don't know how to use and isn't at my house....

As well all know I was strongly NG at the start. By baby E it dawned on me she probably had done something to baby E at the very least. Then I've wavered from NG to unsure to G and back and forth. Think I'm ready to take the plunge and declare I think she's G. I've always been prepared to hear the defence and well.... I've heard enough. Hope team G will welcome me with open arms. Even recently I've had a few niggles here and there but nah she did this shit.

I’m not sure I’d agree it has been regurgitation. There’s quite a few new bits of info that have totally driven home points - eg the keepsake handover, that 99 are from her time as a student. He’s got out of her that she thinks 4 doctors have conspired against her. He’s got her to say firmly that the insulin is a direct act of harm by someone that’s not her. Getting her to say that she visited at 11pm on her day off because it was less busy.
Sounds like wishful thinking on the totally neutral poster there.

Sorry, but can you tell me what the acronyms are that are beings bandied about re: Lucy? I very nearly had a psychology degree once, but it’s been a long while, and I’m not familiar. I know PTSD and some of the personality disorders from the DSM IV in the 1990’s. Thank you!

Think the most common is related to her narcissism, NPD=Narcissistic Personality Disorder
ND= Neuro Diverse, I guess this is an umbrella term for conditions such as autism. dyspraxia, dyslexia, adhad. So any condition where the brain works slightly differently

In regards to LL being with baby C’s family on SEVERAL occasions she said she disagreed with the nurses statements saying she was there several times. She said she was there once then, said a few a couple of minutes later. She guessed she might have been doing the momentos. He asked her if that was normal to do while the baby is alive. LL said it could be before or after. He said it states it should be be afterwards on the paperwork, LL seemed annoyed and said well one baby (can’t remember the letter as they say actual names in court). That when one twin had passed they did the still alive twin babies hand and feet prints at the time, which is obviously a very different scenario with parents request and pointed this out to her. She said she didn’t recall the conversation about her being told to go out and look after the babies.

Child D was really interesting. He started by saying after the baby had passed did you feel like ‘it’s happened and that’s it, got to carry on’ she said no they were all really upset. He asked her to only talk about her feelings not everyone’s feelings. He then started reading statements about the rash, LL actually described the rash looking like suspected meningitis, then he said but you said you didn’t recall this baby to police in 2018, that you suddenly in 2023 remember the rash. She was slower to answer questions now and said that she didn’t recall all the details, not that she didn’t remember the baby. Yet her statement was that she had zero recollection. Yet she had Googled both parents up
To 3 months later. At this point he showed the messages that said exactly what he had started with, ‘it’s happened and that’s it, got to carry on’ she paused and said it wasn’t meant in that context.

Everything else she couldn’t recall. Didn’t remember or disputed… then she asked for a break and that was that

Hope the trial proceeds as planned next week and Letby doesn't succeed in disrupting things further.

I had a thought, maybe it wasn't the questioning that upset her but rather the reaction of the jury? It was reported that she wouldn't look at Nick himself and was turned to face the jury. She was probably watching for their reactions and maybe didn't like what she saw? Just a theory
