Yes they're discussing Baby O.

I'm really interested what anyone who's on the fence makes of this particular evidence. I'm not calling you out or anything like that, I respect your views entirely but I think this is compelling. Another point of view will be welcome 🙂

Buckle up everyone, it's going to be a difficult one 💔

I wonder if they are expecting to start on baby O today because Mark always seems to be there for the start of each baby
A really awful one, poor little baby.
Lots of experts on this one and a very familiar story unfortunately.

The chocolates, asking if she was ok, offering her his car… and when he mentioned cuddling the newborn babies. I was like, stop it! My ovaries can’t cope with this! have my babies right now you sexy sexy man. I hope we get to see what he looks like now 🤣🤣

I must be a big soppy wet wipe too cause I’m a sucker for that! My friend would punch me if she knew I went weak at the knees over something like that.. or if someone said that to me over text 🤣🤣
Would you still be saying that if he looked like a foot? 😝

Just read an article that quoted a neighbour as saying a man would go in the house with her sometimes 👀 she didn’t say what he looked like or if he was wearing a black polo neck under a doctors coat and carrying a big bar of dairy milk though 😫

I’ll get slaughtered no doubt - but this is exactly the kind of thing that *would* put a doubt in my mind about an expert witness. And I guess that’s the job of the defence and some peoples heads they may turn or not. To go ‘touting’ (for want of a better word) for work/opportunity to work on a case, does feel a little ‘opportunistic’ - in my opinion 🤷🏽‍♀️
Catching up but yeah I see where you're coming from. I actually think BM is doing a pretty decent job with what he's got right now, considering it's not his time to bring in his own evidence but just to undermine the prosecution evidence where he can to have the jury question things, in preparation for his evidence. There have been lots of things that have made me think twice about some of the evidence presented.
I don't necessarily think a Dr touting for work means that their findings will be a load of rubbish, but since he's potentially become involved to further his career and earn money (which is fine, we all have bills to pay) it might not seem such a stretch to the jury that his findings might he fuelled partly by that too. Especially since there's no cut and clear answer to any of these incidents other than the insulin cases, it's all opinions.

I don’t think it’s necessarily relevant whether he was offered the opportunity or whether he was touting for work, what is relevant is if he said one thing on the stand but there’s email chains to prove the opposite. It’s not a major issue at the end of the day, but it chips away at his credibility, if he’s lied about this, what else could he have lied about etc etc etc (for the record, I don’t think he has about the medical evidence, but if BM doesn’t have any medical evidence, the best he can do is undermine the credibility of the witnesses in any way he can, and showing they’ve lied on the stand, even about something minor could make the jury question other elements of the evidence)

I think I just find it interesting that because someone has the title ‘Dr’ and has been in the field for x amount of years, that their word should be taken as gospel. For all we know this medical expert could be a right arrogant narcissist too 🤷🏽‍♀️
I know of one professional person in particular who has been in the industry for 30+ years and to outsiders would be seen as a ‘pillar’ of this industry, yet to those in the know, she’s one narc rant away from it all crashing down. Someone’s titles and length of tenure can’t excuse them from any critical analysis.

Have you got a link please? Is this one of the triplets? I've been particularly sceptical of the triplets cases so am eager to hear what's being said.

The mother is definitely not happy with the hospital. Describing chaotic scenes and says the triplets were assigned a student nurse with Letby just popping in.

This is unusual though - any thoughts? Definitely alarming a doctor googling something like this, I’m struggling to believe this would happen though. (Don’t think mother is lying but maybe misinterpreting something)

Dan described the doctor googling it a bit differently

Depends who was googling it and why. If it's someone unfamiliar with the procedure being sent to get equipment for it by someone more senior who's going to do it, they might google so they know what they need to grab. If it's an SHO who's never seen the procedure before, they might google before watching the registrar doing it so they understand what's going on. None of these have any bearing on the person actually doing the procedure, but the mum isn't going to know that's the reason.

Edit: Grandma's statement says it was a nurse researching the procedure. So yeah, doubtful it was the person who put his chest drain in.

Identical triplets. Dunno why but the fact they are identical somehow makes it even worse. ☹💔

Will be so hard for the parents to look at their surviving child now knowing that’s how the two babies that died would have looked too. So cruel beyond belief. 😢

I agree it sounds chaotic, I’ve no doubt it was and things could have been better but if we’re allowed to think that Letby is doing what she’s doing then that is somewhat understandable. She is literally wreaking havoc. These babies just should not have had these events whatsoever. I’m sure the student nurse did feel like it wasn’t enough for their care but the two babies that died were believed to be stronger than the one that survived and Letby was supposed to supervise. Unfortunately I’m quite certain if both babies had been left to the student nurse they would both be happy little children now. Letby co signs for things with the student when babies were doing well, when they go into rapid decline she’s with them alone.

Perfect (at the time) cover up for Lucy, having a student nurse with her. The opening statement said she was designated nurse these two babies. So if the parents are correct and she wasn’t around much then what was she doing?

Dr Gibbs getting snappy with Lucy makes me wonder if he made an association by that point as he had seen quite a few of these babies collapses.

This is all absolutely devastating. I don’t have the words anymore to express what I feel or think about Letby. But there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that she is guilty, none at all!

I also didn’t realise the surviving triplet (💔) was taken to another hospital because the mother requested him to be. Thank god she did.
