Can someone tell me - these NICU incubators - are they covered ones? And do nurses generally stand beside incubators to do paperwork/check machines etc? I'm struggling to understand when they say 'LL was standing beside the incubator' - do nurses generally stand beside incubators?

@anotheronebitesthedust.1 @listymint thanks for quick responses. So would you expect Ms Ellis to generally have good knowledge to a standard, that if she is supervised, she could deliver good care? So for example you’d be confident she would know the basics on how to spot signs etc?
Yes, that's what you would expect. She would have been working with MT with this being her first time caring for a child like Child C.
I'd imagine she has looked after babies unsupervised before this who are much less poorly.

I just think if he had anything decent it would have been said by now? Like he seems to just try discredit others. It feels like he is just saying ‘she didn’t do it.’ I think if there was anything where a baby had died same circumstances whilst she wasn’t there then it would have been said because surely that would throw the whole case off and we wouldn’t even be here.

I think it was strange choice of words when he said in his statement about a woman who says she didn’t do it. Wouldn’t most killers say they didn’t do it🤣
Exactly....so far, it's as if he's just going through the motions?
Suppose a lot is going to depend on what witnesses he has and what they have to say?
I don't suppose a " good mate" of hers who doesn't believe she's done it will have a lot of impact!
As for if he has any expert witnesses who can realistically argue the cause of death in these earlier cases...I don't know?
But...further down the line, with the insulin and the poor babies who weren't quite as " vulnerable " as baby C then he's gonna have a job on? LL even accepted herself that the ones injected with insulin would cause the deaths😢😢😢....so if not her then who the hell is it??

The wording of the defence opening statement has bothered me, and I know some people have touched on it here.

I know the defence statement was very short, and I think they've done that on purpose.

I really think something massive is going to come from the defence, that LL had made complaints or raised concerns about the level of care/staffing.

I'm not sure how that can be reconciled with the insulin cases, it's all so complex.

I doubt it. Even if that were the case, it will be construed as part of her method/plan. She’s both sick and cunning. She will not get away with this. She did it all AND more. Horrible woman

Wonder what the delay is.

We don't know that. Rape is not about sex most of the time. It's about power and control. It could be a personality disorder. Rapists don't all kidnap and murder either.

Rape does not equal sex as a motive that is.
My point is there is a tangible gain from the act, with kidnap and murder (secondary acts) a potential way to reduce being caught. Power and control can still be a sexual motive too, especially when associated with sexual acts.

The babies that were poisoned by insulin. I don’t know off the top of my head which babies they are. But it is not disputed that they were poisoned by insulin and that can only happen if it’s murder.

Thanks, if they survived then obviously it’s attempted murder rather than murder. But it has still been agreed by all involved that it can’t have been an accident 😔
One of the children was prescribed insulin, and the other incident LL wasn’t actually present although she had been there that day it’s definitely not going to be easy to prove it was her given the timeline, If it clearly deliberate they’d have noticed at the time, it’s seems it was explained away at the time, so why couldn’t it be now?

Tell you what’s making me thinking this morning. How the hell she’s living with herself. She’s got a strong constitution to be able to wake up every day and pretend she’s not done all this. Surprised she’s not tried to kill herself or that someone’s not killed her yet. Wonder if anyones battered her one yet in prison. People are bad and commit crimes but baby killers and pweirdo’s are never tolerated in prison. I’d be terrified if I were her
Did someone say she’s heavily medicated or were we speculating. I don’t know if it’s a sign of guilt or innocence though tbh.

Bradycardia just means a slowing of the heart rate which self corrected. It doesn’t mean a full on ‘collapse’.
Thanks, I know what it means. I'd be worried being in nursing if I didn't 😂
I meant I don't understand how it says she was standing over the incubator both times but then the nurse contradicts it and says she was only in the room for one

WC had a different motive- sex. You can see in that situation what he gained from the acts
I think I read he used prostitutes but had a load of werid urges and then money worries so couldn’t pay for them anymore.

Don’t they say serial killers have uncontrollable urges to kill I sometime wonder if the holiday with her parents was because she realised she couldn’t control herself and needed to be away.

Do they obviously think she did it? They’ve given their version of events but I haven’t seen anywhere that they’ve said what they think, or been allowed to give their opinion on her guilt/innocence.
True but they did seem certain on placing her there when in previous interviews they never mentioned her which makes me think there’s potentially some bias to think she is guilty and now certain she was there

Sorry I don’t want to derail the thread but are you saying I was horrible to you or the person I was quoting? If it was me then I’m sorry, I never want to make anyone feel upset.
Oh gosh no...sorry not you!!
The person you're quoting is responding to the person who i refer to( I think!!!!)🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
Apologies if you thought it was directed at you!!

I’m scared we could get into trouble over this!
i feel a bit bad snooping but it’s just too tempting. But I suppose the profile was public , although some people not realise that they’re profile is public

i guess LL’s own Fb account had to be deactivated or she chose to delete it when the investigation first began?

You both need to search for her colleague that she texted (JJK) like this post once you see so I can remove @avabella
Yea and found MT too but couldn’t see anything of Lucy on there

Is this Lucy? I’ve seen lots of pics in this corridor of the old neonatal ward but it doesn’t really help when trying to work out layout.

yes pretty sure that’s her!

How could texts be shown to have placed you in a certain room? I find that hard to believe.
I think they mean the text to her colleague discussing it’s just how I feel in reference to her wanting to be in room 1 and then she disclosed that she has been in and out of the room. If that makes sense 👍

Yes this has all be discussed already. Check out the wiki for Child F, it's all outlined there:

2 questions and sorry if they have been answered.

1) will Ms Ellis be able to see Lucy Letby right now?

2) when a nurse qualifies from Uni are they considered competent? For example once you pass a driving test you are then able to drive with no one else.
