Reading the evidence the medical experts this morning ..just finished reading Dr Bohin's evidence ( after reading up on her background)
She's not just some fly by night who has put her neck on the line saying the babies were administered air....if LL didn't do this then someone else did......bloody heartbreaking💔💔.
And unless the defence can tell us who, they don't have a hope in hell.

Witness testimony plus circumstance (LL being the constant in all cases, odds of 1 in 10 million I believe) means it HAS to have been her.

Sorry but all of the above plus 'I killed them ON PURPOSE' - anyone who still thinks she's innocent is absolutely blinded by confirmation bias.

Makes me so incandescently angry, cuddling my baby a little closer to me today.

I’m curious to know how those who have been in the NG/on the fence camp so far are feeling after today? It seems pretty damming.

For me, it’s just further strengthened my feeling that she’s guilty. And I’m worried about how much more will come out, and how much worse it will get. My heart breaks for all of the families and other staff involved in this. It is horrendous.
I'm feeling very sad. At the moment I want her to be NG but the evidence today doesnt bode well.

I’ll probably get hammered for saying this however.. We’ve got about 5 months left of this, I think she will break. And admit her guilt.

Horrific reading this morning. Please everyone take care and take time out if needed.

I have to be honest, I was on the fence about baby A but it seems so certain this was not an accident. It’s heartbreaking. Aside from being there, it doesn’t necessarily prove that LL did it - but I’m sure more evidence is going to point towards her.

If we’re to assume Letby’s Facebook searches aren’t wholesome or general curiosity, the fact she turned to look at crying parents early on in the trial is really horrible. I realise it’s not conclusive but imo I think it fits with what she was after from doing what she was doing.
I just can't get my head around what has to go wrong for someone to be like this. I suppose we shouldn't be able to understand, or we'd be like her, but I cannot fathom it. What happens in someone's life to create this? Even people with the most harrowing lives don't turn out like this by default and so far nothing suggests she has had a harrowing life (of course you never truly know) and then if it's a case of born bad, how hasn't that become apparent before now? I can't believe she woke up one morning and decided today's the day.

Yep. Was her train of thought 'if I was in the ITU, Child C wouldn't have collapsed'?

Suddenly 'I killed them on purpose because I'm not good enough to care for them' makes a lot of sense.
That’s sent chills down me.
Another day of tough reading, just so sad for those poor precious babies and their families. 😢

Just to add to this it sounds like her designated baby needed her care and she was neglecting them.

What a shit nurse! Guilty or not what a self centred person to blatantly ignore orders and your poorly designated baby so you can be with the more “vulnerable” babies.

Am I right in thinking that while she was supposed to be caring for another baby in her room, she was whatsapping for 1hr12m to a colleague bleating on about lack of team spirit.

A message sent to Letby on June 13, at 9.48pm, says: "You ok? x
The text message conversation, on Whatsapp, concludes at about 11pm

I can't imagine any job where you can can whatsapp for this long and not have it affect your work. Is it normal for medics to do this? My husband is a copper and hardly gets 5 mins to go to the toilet. I do an office job and hardly get time to have lunch - why does she have so much time when on duty in a neo natal ward??

I think a lot of people were hoping innocent/NG & although I’ve been more or less firmly in the guilty camp I totally get why people wanted the opposite because the reality of her being guilty when you really sit & think about what that means is honestly just horrendous ☹

I think we need to remember that we only hear a tiny snippet from court so it seems a waste of energy to pull apart one snippet of a witness testimony.

After Sandy Bohin's testimony that it could not have been accidental air embolism (because of the alerting mechanism) and Evans' testimony that it wasn't the UVC long lines - I really don't know what the defence are going to go for here.

I mean Ben tried to discredit Dewey for basically being an old fogey and out of the game too long, but he can't do that with Bohin! Also if the NCA trusted Dewey, that counts for something. It wasn't some small town police team or hospital that brought him on to investigate, it was a national bureau renowned for being the best at what they do in this country.

Reading the updates on Leader Live. Why was she so desperate to be in room 1/ITU? Her logic makes no sense, to overcome some trauma? No chance. For an opportunity to murder the sickest babies more like! What an absolute weirdo.

He’s will want to plant doubt in the minds of the jury that there may have been another reason for the collapse. But it’s not working. If anything it’s just making it more certain this was nothing but air embolism. Mr Myers is asking some of the questions we’ve had on here. And Dr Evans response is removing any doubt as far as I’m concerned.

3:36pm

The text message conversation, on Whatsapp, concludes at about 11pm.

Child C collapsed 20 minutes later.

That's some huge coincidence... not.

People need to stop the oh you should see my texts or a few texts isn't context

You bitching about fat Janet in the accounting department isn't the same as discussing babies who have passed away
Lol. And you weren’t the last person to see fat Janet alive 😬 and then the last person to see that twat Colin from IT. And then the last person to see boring Nigel from HR. And then….

So I watched the recommended Beverly Allit documentaries last night the first two anyway. And what I took from them in relation to this case is just how hard it was for the police to gather the evidence which pointed to Allit. I mean it was obvious imo it was Allit but being able to prove that is an entirely different matter. The police detective in charge put his job on the line pursuing Allit. There are many parallels to the Letby case imo. I’m not talking about her mental state, but the process of the investigation. Like letby Allit too was arrested more than once and in the beginning it was all very circumstantial. Their main hunch which wasn’t wrong was Allit’s presence at every single collapse, sound familiar? I also feel that the police have ample more evidence in comparison to the Allit case! Very eye opening!

I don’t think you can look at it in isolation though? If she’s guilty the very fact she’s specifically trying to get into room 1 is really sinister. It shows that baby was probably targeted for some reason, she even said ‘not the vented one necessarily’ so she clearly knows what babies are already in there and what condition they are in.
Even that, 'not the vented one', she's talking about a baby, a living, breathing human with a name and a life and she refers to them as items. She is one cold, cold fucker.

I think her name was on other babies notes having signed for meds and care for ones she shouldn’t have been looking after. Plus there will be the door access records.

From The Leader/Chester Standard:
As was the case with Child B, the prosecution say, Lucy Letby was not the designated nurse for Child C, a baby boy. Letby was assigned to look after a baby girl, and the leading nurse had to reinforce this assignment.

part of that pattern emerging 🤨. Seems letby was insistent on being in room 1. She wasn’t just messaging other staff about it she was ignoring the leading nurse about where she should be and when. It appears from evidence so far she was obsessing about wanting to be in nursery 1. However, we are then supposed to believe she can’t remember at all why she was in there? Her memory is very selective!

Seems an obvious choice to go to trial then.

Could give me some idea of what she lacks or seems to lack when it comes to meeting the threshold for insanity?

And not to “lick your arse” but since I’ve been using this thread and I’ve found you to be the most unbiased person, not pushing any particular agenda, I find what you post very informative and easy to understand. You strike me as very high iq. So yeah I rate that. And it’s nice to point out the good in people
I just thought everyone was participating in a discussion. Lots of people offering unbiased opinions and lots of people sharing their medical experience. @Tofino spent ages creating a wiki.

It is lovely to point out the good in people but don't undermine everyone else whilst you're at it.

*Edited to correct a spelling mistake, in case you suggest I have a low IQ.

No, thankfully not. What I mean is, it's only one side of 'context' - not the full picture. I don't get anything screaming out at me from these texts. I think I would if I had a particular bias in my mind though.
You just seem to think anyone who sees evidence as adding to the picture of guilt is automatically biased. Is it not the same bias to automatically assume she's innocent and we simply must be missing something? 🤷‍♀️
