I've seen a video online of what must be before the major attack. Seems like he's getting frustrated driving through the crowds and men start punching and kicking his car. You then see him drive off erratically into the crowd. His defence is 100% going to be self defence saying he was scared of his own safety. Not that it obviously warrants weaving left to right to knock as many people down as possible.
This is what it looks like to me, an entitled twat of a middle aged man (aren’t they always) who’s got pissed off because he couldn’t drive down the street he wanted to go down. I’ve actually witnessed similar behaviour at a much smaller event. God forbid a man can’t get where he wants to get to.

No just a lot of talk about the main issue - litter
oh COME ON! i brought that up as an additional remark and you know i did. that and the voi scooters everywhere.

ETA: just caught up on the rest of the thread - and apologies, i have now read the rest of your comments.

For the benefit of others on here; i was affected by what happened yesterday, of course i was. i live here, and i work here. I came into work this morning and the whole city centre area where i was, which was Dale St, Castle St, Strand feels eery, empty and weird. It's impossible to ignore it; i'm in no way lacking in empathy or self-awareness. I understand the impact.

What i also can't ignore is what's visibly in front of my eyes in the aftermath, which is fucking hundreds and hundreds of pieces of litter strewn everywhere. Perhaps not the right time to bring it up, and I apologise if i've taken this thread unintentionally down a path which isn't appropriate today. But FFS, there's some right scruffs here.

Not being treated as terrorism.

The driver is the 53 year old white man (not all men!) from Liverpool. Thoughts and prayers with the racists who were part way into constructing a conspiracy theory.

Ahh of course the “nice family man” card is being played now he’s a white British man, no way would that be the angle if he was any other nationality or ethnicity. It’s so predictable at this point.
Ive just read the Daily Mail article. ’Maybe he had a breakdown‘? No, maybe he’s just a cunt . That’s far more likely.

This makes me incandescent with rage. WHY does everything seem to need a crowdfund? Nothing is known about the victims or what support they might need. I absolutely despise this type of reaction, I have to say.

Omg the daily Mail is so hilarious. Apparently he read Psychology at a Russell Group University <clutches pearls>
I liked the mechanic commenting that you can tell a lot about someone from their car and his was immaculate. Mine is filthy but I manage not to drive into people 🙄

From the Mail:

The driver suspected of mowing down fans at Liverpool Football Club's victory parade is a 'lovely' family man who runs his own business, it emerged today. The 53-year-old, who is being quizzed by detectives on suspicion of multiple attempted murders, driving under the influence of drugs and dangerous driving, is married with three teenage children, the Mail can reveal. Neighbours of the company director - who lives in a smart, £300,000 four-bedroomed detached property on a neat estate - described him as a 'straight family man' with 'well-behaved children' who must have 'panicked in the moment.'

A lovely family man? Aren't they all lol.

People can’t comprehend that someone white and British can be guilty of these things because they’re all set on blaming ‘the people off the boats’. It’s always the same narrative. Police release who he is and it’s all a big cover up? Some people aren’t all there in the head

It’s absolutely heartbreaking what happened yesterday, regardless of what anyone thinks about football, their fans etc a day of celebration shouldn’t have ended like that.
We obviously don’t know the facts but regardless of that, it shouldn’t have happened. Children had to witness that, and will be scared for life, and the poor children that were injured it’s just appalling. I sincerely hope that those who are injured make a full recovery.
I find it rather upsetting that people on this thread are using it as an opportunity to bash Liverpool. Every major city in the UK has its problems. I don’t recall people bashing Manchester for “breeding terrorists” because let’s not forget that horror that blew the arena up was born in Manchester!! At that time people come together and supported the city, not bash it, same as any other city when major incidents have happened. Anyway that’s my two pence, sending love to all that have been affected by today’s events ❤

It's not if you remember shocking cases like Olivia. And yes I'm a scouser. The city has terrible problems. It's relevant. It's small minded, thuggy and insular and after 44 years of never living anywhere else I got out and would never go back.
I don’t think it’s relevant or helpful to come onto a post about a big incident that has just happened, where there are deaths and speculation around terror, not give a passing thought or comment to any of the victims, or even speculate about the perp and just call the people of Liverpool scum.

Why does Liverpool have so many problems with the scum of the earth living there?

I know they're a minority of people in the city but there's so many awful people in that city.

Regardless of his health , how scared he was , he still took drugs and got into his car .

Anyone who drinks or takes drugs and gets into a car deserves the sentence they get .

Just caught up with this thread, don’t think anyone has mentioned this before but I see that as usual the attention seeking, wife beating, wankstain little pipsqueak that is Joey Barton tried to start up a little racial hatred initially and then changed his tweet as soon as it was clear that he was completely and cuntily barking up the wrong tree as usual.

He and his ilk are the reason why the police had to say it was a white man, and he and his ilk are always the ones saying, why are they mentioning it’s a white man?

Little twat. Glad to see he was called out for it by about a million normal human beings.

Absolutely not racist. I am dealing with the facts we currently have.

Anyone with a shred of lateral thinking can see this has false flag all over it. Not the actual people harmed they are very much real victims of this but is clear as day this has agenda written all over it.
The police practically stepped aside to let him through and then ushered the driver to safety. How did a car get access to that area in the first place?

Regardless, thoughts are with those affected. And huge love to Liverpool ❤
They were protecting him so that they could arrest him. Can’t question or charge a dead man.

I think when you don’t know why a car is running people over (or if the driver is going to start stabbing people or detonating a bomb) it’s fair enough to attack it

People who get behind the wheel of a vehicle when under the influence of drink or drugs are the most selfish of selfish…and dangerous. It’s always other innocent people they injure or kill rather than themselves 😞😡

Yes! I’ve just had a heated discussion with my partner about how it doesn’t fucking matter if he’s got PTSD or there’s a reason, he’s a twat who made a disgusting decision in the heat of the moment when the red mist descended and I’d expect someone military trained to be even less likely to do something like that.

Whether he’s been a stand up guy all his life up to now is fucking irrelevant, he’s a monster.
