Dismissing people’s concerns about this event in Liverpool saying “there are more important things” is also ugly and unnecessary. It got to the point where I muted them.

Liverpool like every other town and city has its a rough areas and it’s fair share of numpties. My general experience of Liverpool is positive.

She manages to shoehorn the Israel / Palestine situation into almost every comment.
To be honest, i think saying 'there are more important things' is unfair. Who is she to decide what is the more important thing for one person, or another?
I have not got the mental capacity to deal with the constant barrage of rolling news and images of what is happening in Gaza, Ukraine and elsewhere and so I made an active choice not to become involved in it. With something like this happening on our doorstep, of course people are going to discuss it. It's completely unnecessary for Veronica or others to say it's not as important - when really she means it's not important to her. I'm quite honestly at saturation point with news of wars at the moment, and I think that's a normal reaction, too.

I’ve had a name sent to me (I’m in Liverpool) which I’m hoping is real and not an innocent but the person who sent it has already told us that a) there’s at least 7 casualties b) it’s a Muslim bloke who’s come on a boat from Syria and c) it’s a “pie eater from Wigan”

When I was a teenager, my parents had really nice neighbours. They too lived on a middle class estate, very quiet, do anything for you, he owned his own business. All very respectable.

Until it turned out he was responsible for a series of armed robberies across the north of England, which was how they could afford to live on the nice middle class estate.

He’s almost being deified by the media now, they’ve even got a mechanic who serviced the car three months ago to sing his praises. It’s disgusting he could have killed people but never mind his car passed its MOT & he kept it clean.

Awful. I was at the end of Water St with my kids and we must have missed it by minutes. The atmosphere was lovely as well - we had commented on the low police presence (presumably everyone attending is on the same side so minimal agro?), but tbf no amount of police would prevent such an attack.

The road had been cordoned off so must have gone right though the steel barriers (possible) or gone down a side-street?

Good on them I say. If you see someone deliberately harming others , I think it's perfectly justified to do everything in your power to stop them. He might of tried to exit the car with a knife to do more damage...

Probably social media taken down by the family, and if so it’s the right thing to do. The guy sounds like an absolute cunt, and he deserves what’s coming to him. Know who’s fault that is? His.
Not his wife (still don’t care if she’s a Sunday school teacher), not his kids, not his neighbours who think he’s salt of the earth for fixing their burglar alarm. There is literally no mitigation for what he done.

And whether you agree with me or not, he deserves the right to a fair trial - people online feel so entitled to ALL the information. But that’s not how it works - they’ll be the same ones spouting off if the charges don’t stick, or the jury are biased based on everything that’s been plastered on social media.

A) tailgated the ambulance in the first place
B) was driving in town on the busiest day of the year

I would never want something to be terrorism but if this turns out to **just** be some coked up drunk who’s had a row with his missus and took his rage out of the crown….what a shit show.

I hope all Tattlers with friend or loved ones there have now heard from them and all ok. Liverpool is one of the greatest cities ever

Apologies, couldn't see a thread for this or anywhere to talk about it.

A car has driven into the crowd at Liverpool trophy parade this evening. A lot of people were struck by the vehicle which deliberately swerved into them. There are videos on social media, I will advise they are absolutely sickening.

I am not a Liverpool fan but have a lot of friends and family there, praying everyone attending is ok and there aren't any serious injuries or worse but to be honest that seems unlikely viewing the video.

I know they're a minority of people in the city but there's so many awful people in that city.

Sadly I don't think it's Liverpool exclusive.
So many communities have issues with drugs, county lines and so on.
Large cities, small estates, it's pretty rife

The above of course is no reflection of the vast majority of lovely people who live in Liverpool or any other places for that matter.

What an absolute twat though, I hope he's away for a very very long time, and has the decency to plead guilty to spare his victims something at least.

Boils my blood thinking of the long and short term impact he's placed on so many people through sheer carelessness, stupidity and arrogance.
