My friend says things like “I’ve got all the children coming for Christmas dinner.”
They are in their 40’s!
I suggested she says family, but she insists that would mean her brother, sister and in-laws as well.

I think that’s nice, my mother always calls us grown adults her children. She always saiys in her eyes we are always her children.

Do you not air the bed?

I never make the bed I pull the quilt back to air the mattress, I said this recently to a relative, bloody hell you would think I’d said we slept on bin liners

Another car rant but some absolutely selfish twit parked on the line right next to me today at the supermarket, they weren't there when and they are so close I could just about squeeze in. Its annoying because I am well within the line and the car park is huge , not that busy so could park anywhere pretty much , literally no excuse

Nah, airing the bed is overrated I think. What is it actually meant to do? Unless you blast the windows open the whole time, I don't think anything is getting aired out. Unless your sheets are actually damp from sweat or something if you wake up, but mine are not?

You're so right, i change my sheets weekly, actually have to make my bed cos my dog lies there alot, don't want dirty paw prints in my bed!

My husband rarely made the bed when he got out of it in the morning. Im generally out of bed first. It's a duvet so making the bed consists of straightening it up.

I told him the pixies must make this bed up.

Then I sing "the pixies they have been" repeatedly whilst I straighten the bed and this has had a bit of success because 50% of the time now he will straighten the bed ...
as opposed to 1 in every 10 times before

I annoy myself so much. I am such a massive introvert. Christmas drains my social battery like nothing else and prior to christmas I've agree to TWO social gatherings at my house over the next couple of days and now im sat DREADING tomorrow no offence to the visitors but please leave by 9pm... thanks...

Haha I'm actually getting a 'Please Leave By 9pm' print for my gallery wall! They'll still stay til 2am, mind!

We have two things that turn us from reasonable humans into idiots
1)Changing the swing bin bag
2) putting clean bedding on the bed

I literally came on here to say I annoy myself for almost this exact reason . I agreed to so many nights out etc over Christmas that I hated but felt obliged to go to. I’m also going away with some family for a few days over new year which a) I’m dreading and b) has ruined the one time of year I’m off work and can do nothing without fear of judgement! I could cry

My new years resolution is to just accept that I’m a boring bastard low energy introvert and not agree to things I don’t want to do.

Same. I try not to be annoyed by it as she’s an old lady and clearly hard of hearing, but when I’m sitting reading a book with the TV off it’s not ideal
