Just some musings…

I’ve been a Lisa fan from day 1 with the first velvets. I really liked the fact they were mail order. You saw the lovely video and the product and then placed the order and waited for the items to come in the post, beautifully packaged. I like that you can still buy this way. I was in space NK the other day and saw Lisa’s stand., some testers missing and some damaged. I guess, for me personally it takes all the cachet and mystique out of the products. I know it’s nice to see the colours in person etc and to be tested for a foundation in daylight, I get that, I really do. I’m thrilled for Lisa and her success too, I just hope she doesn’t spread herself too thin and her brand gets lost and devalued in the sea of brands in places like Space NK.

I queued for about two hours this morning at the Covent Garden pop up. Made conversation with a few people either side of me which helped pass the timr but I feel that it needed to be time slots that emeralds could have responded to by email so at least you knew when to turn up and you knew you wouldn’t have to wait so long. They would have known the capacity of the shop and how many staff they had well in advance and although the staff were all lovely inside the shop it was just a bit random and all over the place.

After queuing for ages it was then another really slow queue inside to meet Lisa who I’m sure was being her usual lovely self to everyone, another queue if you needed to be colour matched and then another queue to have a go at a fun “claw” machine which dispensed plastic spheres which opened up to reveal a full size treat, (in my case,Rain lipgloss which was a nice surprise) we also got the choice of a baume embrace or a kitten mascara as I think we were part of the first one hundred customers. Also a nice cookie from Creme London.

It was a good idea but it definitely needed to be better managed. I learnt from talking to others that people had arrived at 9 on Neale St and it didn’t open until 12! I got there at 11 and the queue was already around the corner.

I agree that it’s tacky AF. Why not send product to Emerald members, they’ve already spent a lot of money on her stuff. She could then use the reviews on site when the product goes on sale. And show all of them, building on her brand of being classy and honest. I simply do not give a toss what a bunch of screechy influencers have to say about a product. I watch her videos then decide. And my manicure is fresh 💅🏻

Please let us know your thoughts, these are both in my basket waiting for a weak moment, be ace if you can pass on that enablement! (Well not ace for my bank account 😂)
The Kitten Lash mascara is excellent.

However, I think it's better to buy on a need basis not a temptation basis. So, if you have mascaras you're already using, just be patient and use them up and then replace with Kitten Lash when the time comes to throw out the old ones. I have a "one in, one out" policy that helps a lot with FOMO. So pretty much each beauty item I own is the only one of its kind, except red lipsticks where I have 4 different types of red (3 from LE).

I bought two embrace balms after saying I wouldn't 😂😂 I got meet cute and Epanoui I'm very impressed as it's helped my lips get back to normal (meds bugger them up)

The colour lasts a couple of hours, I prefer Epanoui as it's a stronger colour and suits my lips better.

Mascara wise I bought it on release but held off opening it until I'd finished another one. I use eyelash curlers daily otherwise I have very long poker straight eyelashes that mascara transfers quickly on my glasses

With Lisa's I don't have that issue, it separates and lifts them, doesn't clump and I don't need to run a disposable spouly through them. It hasn't smudged and looks great after a long day and has even survived a few long cat naps

I've been really impressed with everything I've tried so far. Looking forward to seeing what new palletes she releases as well as new products

I can’t take the new name seriously, liquid silk was always the lube given out at freshers week / local sexual health clinic

Finally a LE rave thread!! I've enjoyed the derails on threads for CH and SH.

As a defector from the latter pair I've built a collection of Lisa Eldridge products over the last year or so. I agree with so many of the comments here about the authenticity of her brand and products, I don't feel lied to or misled, I don't feel ripped off despite everything being more expensive that things I would have bought when recommended by the likes of Sali etc.

The cleanser is so nice that when I left it in a hotel (idiot) I re-purchased. The lipsticks I wear again and again. I'm so bad at using pen eyeliners but LE's is amazing, I can actually keep a steady line with it as it's so fine but smooth.

I did buy the face mist too and though it's pretty nice, personally it's the only thing I'm not sure I'd repurchase, but it is nice under foundation.

This came up in my YouTube videos last night. I’m not subscribed to her and she’s not an influencer and she bought the lipsticks with her own money.
She’s done a very thorough video with swatch comparisons both on her lips and on her hand.
I found her very informative and well worth a watch.
The new shades I was drawn to look very similar to LE lipsticks I already have and this video confirms it.

So my order came today! I’m building a small stash of LE because it really suits me… on my top lip is Blush and the bottom lip is Muse. I ADORE them - it’s a fabulous lipstick. Goes on silky and smooth, allowing you to adjust and blur if you want, and then dries and stays put. It’s perfect for work, and every day life. Muse is brilliant for every day - enhances my lip colour and matches the tone of my skin. Subtle but I look more finished. Blush is slightly deeper. I’ll wear this in the evenings or at work gigs. It’s also subtle and matches me perfectly. I also got the new lip liner in 2C which I used just on the edge to define the lip line but did not colour in because I wanted to see the lipstick in its pure state.
I LOVE the Kitten Mascara. Excellent wand, great colour pay off, defines and elongates the lashes. And it doesn’t feel heavy or mascara-y, if you know what I mean. And you could build it for more drama or (as I did) just use one swipe for pretty and natural lashes. Love love!

In a world where any solo seller can make a shopify shop in an hour, that sounds bizarre
At least she has been honest and postponed the launch.
Hirons knew there was a problem with not having one item ready for her kit yet still allowed people to order, stating 15 working days for delivery. Took the money immediately and apparently people are still waiting.

I know which customer service I’d prefer.

I know I’m just in an echo chamber now but it really is disappointing.

@Duee I agree, the benefit of being able to purchase early seems to be solely for the company bank accounts with no real perk for the customer.
So true.

I'm always amazed how brands don't take care of their very keenest buyers - those are the ones who are most dedicated after all.

Instead it's the influencers - who frankly, couldn't give less of a toss - who they pander to. Nuts.

Fools. Their loss by depriving themselves of her brilliant products.

The everyday recipients on the honours list are not colonialists. They are ordinary citizens who have devoted themselves to service to others and a gong is a just reward.

I'm sick of this cancel culture, it's ridiculous.
Accepting a colonialist honour reinforces a colonialist society (as opposed to a decolonised progressive one). I don’t consider it a perspective of ‘fools’.

‘Devoted to serving others’ is a bit much, she makes a fortune for putting on makeup, it’s hardly improving society.

I’m a recent LE convert and now have the liner, mascara and red lippie. I just purchased the skin tint and can’t wait as now I’m in my 40s I find foundation just doesn’t sit well and bare skin is a bit too… bare 🤣

I love her videos. She’s so calming! I am not really one for watching tutorials or such but love hers.

Nothing kills a brand for me quicker than bloody influencers everywhere. They'll be onto marketing the next product tomorrow for whichever brand pays them to show up, so obviously they don't care about the lipsticks. & I'm getting my head round the fact that all these expensive lipsticks were sent to all these influencers FOR FREE precisely to get ME to spend MY MONEY on them, which I earned on the blood sweat and many tears of my 9 to 5.

It was actually hard to find the swatches I posted, which means that out of all the influencers receiving free shit, only this person bothered to post useful content -- which is all the colours in one place in different lighting so we can see them clearer. We should've got this from the brand in the first place, to help us make informed decisions, not inviting influencers to eat off plates of gold while showing their ignorance of the brand.

There's one idiot on Lisa's instagram in a filtered reel so you can't even tell the true colour of the lipstick, but here's 30 seconds of this arsehole eyefucking the camera and flipping her hair while people in the comments are asking for swatches.

I haven't seen this before from Lisa, so I'm disappointed and starting to agree with the OTT comments on Reddit about how Lisa is abusing the trust of her loyal fans who supported her brand from the beginning. I'm exhausted and over this launch now.
To be fair Charlotte, who uploaded those swatches, is a Lisa fan.
In fact she bought ALL shades herself with her own money and then was surprised to receive 4 shades as PR from Lisa.
For that reason she is giving away the 4 free PR shades.
I’m not saying that the majority of influencers aren’t disingenuous but, imho, Charlotte Holdcroft is not one of them - she’s one of the decent ones.

For anyone interested, I did an all over with 1c then went over the edges with 2c. Nothing else on lips apart from what’s left of last nights lip balm (ALWAYS Nuxe reve de miel) no filter. Just natural (Albeit quite grey drizzly) daylight by the window

They really are the lip pencils I’ve wanted all my life, never before has there been a specifically skin tone corresponding range. I’ve always gone towards nude/natural and most tones were either too orange /beige (MAC Spice I’m looking at you 😂) or too mauve and corpse looking.

Thanks for starting this. I'm another one guilty of talking about Lisa in other threads, but when she is the polar opposite of CH it's hard not to compare!

Love every product of hers that I've tried. I can easily believe she is fully involved in every aspect of product development.

When she recommends other products there's a good chance I will have ordered it before her review video has even ended 🫣😂
