I just don’t feel like spending £27 on something that I have to sharpen, therefore half of it is ending up in the bin. Isn’t there another way to deliver the product? It just seems so wasteful!
No idea if you’ve seen this. It may help. The whole point of it being named an MBE, CBE or any other BE and it not being called an MUK or CUK was to be inclusive, because those who were located anywhere in the Empire were eligible for it, ie it could be awarded to foreign dignitaries at a time when most gongs could only be awarded to British passport holders. Now they are stuck with the name, because how do you change the name of a lifelong honour without suggesting that those who received the 'old named' honour are no longer being honoured? Also, isn't jumping in and condemning another culture without really taking the trouble to educate yourself about it just the teensiest bit, well...colonial in nature?!

Also interesting about the concealer pencil response @whitershadeofpale. I wasn't interested before but now am intrigued as I have a part of a tear trough which is so deep and dark no concealer touches it. Might this be what I'm looking for?! Feel like I need to get to the counter and try it.
I think it’s a retractable pencil, so no worries on the sharpening - that was my concern too. I’m going to order one and will let you knowI just don’t feel like spending £27 on something that I have to sharpen, therefore half of it is ending up in the bin. I bought one to be a true concealer. I didn't want it to be brightening as that's not true to how I do make up, and I'd it's to cover redness or breakouts (as per the video), I don't want to bring attention to them! You don't have to buy 2, but I do think it's smart of them to give people the choice.I messaged asking about whether it could be used under-eye and got this response. Not sure about getting two shades![]()
I did - I wanted 2 brushes too but held off until the launch. I could do with a smaller pencil case anyway so two (needlessly spent) birds one stone, so to speak. Please do.
Did you order enough to get the “vegan leather” (plastic!) pencil case?
That confused me a little as in the video Lisa says it’s retractable but also that it has a sharpenerI think it’s a retractable pencil, so no worries on the sharpening - that was my concern too. I’m going to order one and will let you know![]()
The sharpener is literally for the concealer stick only. That confused me a little as in the video Lisa says it’s retractable but also that it has a sharpener![]()
Quite easily e.g ‘Order of British Excellence’ a copywriter could come up with plenty of nuanced more respectful options that would have minimal change. (The simplest option i would imagine for the gov would be to offer nominees the choice of their ‘Empire’ as their E, or a second E term, as that would cause even less change politically whilst giving the nominee a choice. ( I don’t see how stopping an honour removes awards from prev winners, many awards stop being given in perpetuity without negating the prev award winners.). Now they are stuck with the name, because how do you change the name of a lifelong honour without suggesting that those who received the 'old named' honour are no longer being honoured? Ugh, now you’ve told me this and I’ve watched the video, obviously I want it. This happens to me every bloody time!I think it’s a retractable pencil, so no worries on the sharpening - that was my concern too. I’m going to order one and will let you know![]()
The pop up is open from Wednesday to Sunday this week I believe. This one is much more focused on the new concealer whereas the previous one was more a generic showcase of the brand (this was before she was in any stores so it was the only time to see the products up close before purchase)I just saw the latest reel of the pop up, I hope those of you that manage to go have a fabulous time. I managed to go to the one in Covenant Garden and it was great even though we didn’t see Lisa, but the staff was great and i did enjoy seeing her collection of old cosmetic.
how long is this one on for does anyone know?
Lovely I’ll be in town soon so will take a look then.My concealer pencil is here! Only tried it on my hand; it's true to skin both colour and texture. Will try it a few times and report back further.
Wayne Goss said the same. He said it’s a great product but vastly overpriced for the quantity of product.this is the first product of hers I’ve thought is a total miss. Hardly any product (0.04g!!!!) and she’s charging almost £30? You can pinpoint correct in so many other ways using small brushes. Lisa has done this for years anyway.
Just seems ill considered and that’s at odds with the rest of her range.
I’ll have to look his review up, thank you! I always think he’s very fair.Wayne Goss said the same. He said it’s a great product but vastly overpriced for the quantity of product.
I also saw a clip on Instagram of Lisa walking down a London street with a massive copy of her concealer pencil over her shoulder. I must admit it’s the first time I’ve cringed over anything Lisa has done. She doesn’t need tacky publicity like that. I hope she’s not becoming like the others in the business (looking at you Hirons) and doing anything for publicity.
