The whole point of it being named an MBE, CBE or any other BE and it not being called an MUK or CUK was to be inclusive, because those who were located anywhere in the Empire were eligible for it, ie it could be awarded to foreign dignitaries at a time when most gongs could only be awarded to British passport holders. Now they are stuck with the name, because how do you change the name of a lifelong honour without suggesting that those who received the 'old named' honour are no longer being honoured? Also, isn't jumping in and condemning another culture without really taking the trouble to educate yourself about it just the teensiest bit, well...colonial in nature?!

Also interesting about the concealer pencil response @whitershadeofpale. I wasn't interested before but now am intrigued as I have a part of a tear trough which is so deep and dark no concealer touches it. Might this be what I'm looking for?! Feel like I need to get to the counter and try it.
No idea if you’ve seen this. It may help.

@50sGirl
I saw your tag, but can't find the post now 🤦🏽‍♀️
I had surgery 12 weeks ago on an abcess, still having the district nurses twice a week. It's been tough going and groundhog days

Had a break from tattle as I've fallen down the rabbit hole that is tik tok with a couple of creators.

Couldn't be arsed with the OAF either 😂

Thank you for checking up on me 😘

Back on topic and Lisa's releases

1. The liqud silk and Fawn palette
Firstly it's the first time a pallete didn't excite me, I don't know why I just felt "meh" about it, I agree with others the name choice is a bit weird. I bought Irene through Space NK as my trusty max paint pot had died a death and I'd seen the video about using as a base. It's lovely to apply but it's one of those that I think may dry out quickly.

2. Like you I was really hoping for a concealer launch. I just hope that it grabs me and doesn't crease in my lines. I might go into liberty once it's been released and have a play about before committing

3. Rouge Experience
I said to my husband as soon as I saw the teaser that it would be a refillable lipstick. On release to emeralds I found the shade swatches on the models to not be so great almost annoyingly so.

I did get the email by 5pm and didn't have the problem that some members had. I'd have been knarked if that applied to me.

I was on the fence about buying one, so left it 24 hours then I contacted customer services to double check my choices and send them a photo to help with shade matching. Long story short I went for Romy as believe it or not I don't own a nude shade after being seriously underwhelmed by CT pillow talk. I also took a punt with Audrey, topped up with a cleanser and new mascara. I was pleased that she changed her GWP and the new one is a firm addition to my handbag.

Romy is a great shade for me and I love the formula, I got the case with my initials, refilling it with one working hand is not as easy as I thought it would be.

The train "launch" I'm conflicted by, Lisa seemed her usual self but the whole influencer thing annoys my grumpy self.

4. Lisa and me
This might be me being a complete moron but how do we redeem points ie is 5% the only way to do it? Answers on a postcard please

As usual I've kept things short and sweet 😂😂
I spotted you on the Narcs thread so I reprimanded you there! 😜😆
Wishing you a speedy recovery. 😘

I may have had a bit of a Lisa splurge. (I had a small Premium Bonds win so why not?)

I bought Rouge Experience in Lisa, Ashes of Rose and Medici.

Then I used some of my Liberty Beauty Drop balance because they were giving away the LE Liberty bag with a £125 spend. 🥰
I bought the final 2 Baume Embrace - Sweet Fig and Metropolis, Sculpt pencil in 0N, Elevated Glow in Pink Moon and Luxurious Lucent in Je Ne Sais Quoi. Love them all except I’m undecided about the Elevated Glow.

I also received a sample of Lisa’s cleanser with my Rouge Experience.
Don’t shoot me but I was very underwhelmed. I’m so glad I received the sample to save me buying the full size and not liking it.

love her makeup and hat for the garden party at Buckingham palace.

Has anyone tried Go lightly? Or seen it in real life?
I had it and sold it. It was god awful. The texture was so bad the lines in my lips were really visible and the colour was so white based that it looked like clown makeup. It was super patchy too.

Well I decided to try one of my LE foundation samples today so that I can work out which shade I’ll be in the Skin Tint.
I tried shade 1 and let’s just say I’m glad I’m not leaving the house today because I resemble Casper the friendly ghost! 👻
It’s a great match to my neck though but too pale for my face.

To be fair Charlotte, who uploaded those swatches, is a Lisa fan.
In fact she bought ALL shades herself with her own money and then was surprised to receive 4 shades as PR from Lisa.
For that reason she is giving away the 4 free PR shades.
I’m not saying that the majority of influencers aren’t disingenuous but, imho, Charlotte Holdcroft is not one of them - she’s one of the decent ones.
I really enjoy Charlotte's videos. She does buy lots of products herself and is always upfront about what has been sent to her. I think her video with these latest lipsticks actually show you what they look like on her lips. I agree she is one of the decent ones.

Love Épanoui but I have a bunch of Gloss Embrace to work through. I'm trying to be better now only buying (including skincare) when I'm running low.

Thanks for this. I guess I'll skip the Rouge -- I wasn't planning on getting the case for £49 and now hearing the cap doesn't stay on the refill is a no for me, plus the comment about the formula being drying.
I have a couple of the refills I leave in my purse and the caps have never come off. Also don’t find them drying but I guess to each their own.

Lisa’s email right now:

“Five years ago, I made it my mission to create a truly luxurious, everyday, refillable lipstick with a world first, mono material refill… and finally – its here!!!
Email from Lisa:

Launching with eight, super modern and wearable shades in a brand NEW formula - Rouge Experience is a dreamy, lightweight crème textured lipstick that glides on comfortably with a soft, subtly luminous sheen finish and lip-smoothing blur.

The super luxurious and beautifully made Refillable Lipstick Case is exclusively compatible with the Rouge Experience Refills, so you can replace and interchange additional shades as and when you like, to suit your mood.”

I just don’t feel like spending £27 on something that I have to sharpen, therefore half of it is ending up in the bin. Isn’t there another way to deliver the product? It just seems so wasteful!
I think it’s a retractable pencil, so no worries on the sharpening - that was my concern too. I’m going to order one and will let you know :)

I wish she sold empty palettes and single eyeshadows so you could create your own personalised one.
I agree.
I think an empty 6 palette would be great but I’d also love an empty 12 or 15 palette so I could have them all in one place and just use the 6 for travel.

Meh. I'm not enthused about this. It looks too big and bulky to be practical. I also think that refillable lipsticks have had their day, because the way we consume make up has changed. Women don't have one lipstick which they use everyday until its used up anymore, then they buy the refill - nowadays it's more likely you'll buy it, use it in rotation with other lipsticks then by the time you feel that you'd like a change (or have used it up, but that's least likely), the brand has stopped making the refills. So you end up with this big 'heirloom' lipstick case but no lipstick.

Also, is anyone really that bothered about packaging beyond it being hygienic and product appropriate? I feel like Lisa is so good on unique formulas that's what I look for in her products, but I just can't tell that much difference between lipstick formulas. And I've got a huge bag of lipsticks already.
You’ve really got a point there, and made me think. I guess I just get excited about the creative process Lisa goes through each time she puts her mind to something. She must think there is a gap in the market for this mono material refill otherwise it would be a waste of time and lots of money for her. I’ve noticed a trend of very expensive lipsticks in the last two years or so, exorbitant prices yet I guess they still sell to people who think the more they pay, the more cachet they acquire. I don’t know if Lisa is trying to expand further into the luxury designer end of the market with this launch. Her price point for this new launch will give the answer to that

I wonder if she still works for Lancôme because I miss the Juicy Shakers. They would have blown up with the lip oil trend now!

Reporting back on the liquid silks. I purchased Thalia and Gaia and they wear great on my very oily lids with fairly minimal creasing. I'm shade 13 in the skin tint and 26 in the foundation, the shades show up on my skin (but obviously not with as much contrast as they would on a lighter skinned person) but I would say they skew a touch warmer/rosier than the swatches online but that may be because my undertones pull a bit greenish which can throw things warm a bit.

Happy with purchase and they make a great base, but definitely think it's best to see the colours in person if you can as I think the undertones of the shadows online may have been very slightly "homogenised" towards neutral to showcase them at their most universal.

I didn't use a primer. I just used my Clinique moisture surge. I'm wearing the tint now. It's fabulous! It covers my redness but feels and looks so natural. I LOVE it. No pilling, no settling, just looks fab. I'm an oily girl with some dry patches, so I exfoliate a few times a week to control it.

I also am wearing the Luxuriously Lucent lipstick in Rose Official, and oh my, it's so pretty and feels so lovely. Worth the splurge. You can tell, I think, effort and care was put into creating these products which I appreciate. Even my kid said he thought the lipstick was pretty. 🤣
