Interesting that she's got a new comms director and is now going this tacky route. Yep, tacky.
Lisa has over 2million followers, surely she doesn't need to be buying shouty influencers a posh dinner, or sending free lipsticks to micro-influencers with 23k followers? How many extra sales will that really generate? When it was just her talking about her products, and the influencers had to go and buy it (and amazingly they all did and go buy her products) it felt more like an exclusive thing.
I'm definitely over influencers, particularly when they make the shift from being talented and almost as an aside mentioning products, to basically being a QCV presenter by another name.
It might have been on the make up rehab reddit where there was thread where everyone was listing the LE products they owned and what they thought of them - and it wasn't all glowing. Generally eyeliners and mascaras drying up quickly and lipsticks breaking (apparently a known fault due to the formulation). Eye opening, not because the products are bad but because it's so rare to hear what someone thinks of a product they've owned and used more than twice, and are weighing up whether it was worth hard earned money in comparison with other products available on the market.
