I've just seen a post on the 'At Home with Lily and Anna Facebook page where one fan wrote that given how Zoella got backlash for promoting sex toys, Lily and Anna should talk about masturbation and related topics in a podcast!. A lot of their fans seem to think that is good idea  I can't think of two people who would be less qualified to talk about mastrubation than these two. I'm sure all we would get is Lily and Anna giggling like 12 year old girls throughout the discussion🤦‍♀️.
I doubt either of them have had an orgasm between them. Rich and Mark don't have it in them 😆

"My friend has quite a large social media following and in 2020 during the peak of the BLM protests she posted about this and promised to continue supporting BLM and to 'do the work'. She also highlighted her own background and tried to equate this with the experience of black people. Since then she's completely ignored it, how should I call her out on her offensive performative bullshit?"
She's so tone deaf. She actually has no idea. How she even has the audacity to compare herself is shocking enough but to do it online. Unbelievable!

Problematic braids aside, not washing your hair for two weeks is gross. People with braids still wash because of things like idk scalp health, being active, general hygiene
Thats disgusting, I get braids sometimes during the Summer and I will take care of my scalp and my hair imagine walking around with a smelly scalp and dirty hair! Yuck!!!

Two weeks of activities AND in summer - oh boy. Must have been very popular at the camp 😬

P.S. her new filter of choice is called "nice colours" - did someone at gleam told her off for the depressing brown filter, so she searched Nice colours on ig? 😂

I find this woman to be very immature in general, I haven't met any female who haven't come to term with their natural hair at the age of 30.

She watched videos about curly girl method and went on to highlight that it is not for her because her curl is London-curl (so unique only North London gal have it), did she sit at home thinking that other ethnicity go to hair dresser to sort out their curls every morning?

She is exhausting

Assuming she knew how to use a hair brush (doesn’t look like she was a newborn baby so....), couldn’t she have a greasy slicked back ponytail like other people? Why is everything so complicated with her/why must she overcomplicate everything?

I admit that I struggle/d with my hair as it’s curly, which is not common for SE Asian people. My mum had no idea how to do my hair as it wasn’t smooth and silky like everyone else’s. This meant my hair was rarely down but I did have the most amazing collection of hair bands, clips, scrunches and bows.

Beggles must have absolutely begged for the braids. Surely no parent would be the one to suggest that not washing your hair for 2 weeks would be the best option?

Not sure how she thinks she’s going to teach Grey to love her curls if she doesn’t embrace her own first. All the encouragement in the world won’t matter when Grey sees how Lily treats her own hair, kids learn from example.

To be fair, Lily does not love or embrace anything (except #ads #spon). Encouragement from Lily?!?! LOL

I mean she does have a point that the most popular videos for curls are ones from those with like 2c/3a hair because there are still very Euro standards to preferred curl types but it's not hard at all to find videos for all curls ranging from 3-4. My hair is 2a/2b and I try to find posts specific to that and the algorithm floods me with curl types closer to Lily's. I'm actually jealous of those types of curls because I find the product market much better for them. Plus their curls are so much more fun and versatile.

It's fine to just say I'm not interested in this or it's too much work for me. Just admit you don't want to do it. Also, I would love the irony if Grey loses her curl when she's older and had the hair Lily always dreamed of. She would be the most jealous mother.

So she wants to teach Grey to love her curls, but she's not willing to embrace her own? That conversation will go well. In reality poor Grey will see her mother ironing the tit out of her hair and want to emulate that, as well as all of Lily's other hang ups about exercise and being unable to do basic tasks around the house.

Totally agree with this! Different backgrounds but my mum had no clue about my hair (2c/3a I think but back as a kid she just brushed it into a frizzy mane!) but when I went to residentials I just tied it back in a ponytail or plaits and just got on with having a good time!

Also re teaching Grey to love her curls - you've got to lead by example like the others have said. My little girls hair starting being obviously curly when she was about 9 months old, this also coincided with lockdown 1 in the UK so I ditched the straighteners and have spent the last 9 months learning to care for my curls! And on bad hair days there's always a ponytail or bun. My little girl is going to grow up knowing that curls and textures of all kinds are normal, beautiful and professional and that you don't have to straighten them to be socially acceptable and successful.

She just like a good moan, there are definitely videos out there. I think she is finding excuses to not do something, like you said, is completely okay to admit that she likes poker straight hair.

What do you think is her hair type? I think 3b/3c at most?

What was all that shiz about not exercising when she has her period as well?

Your little girl is lucky to have a mother like you. I remember when I was little my favourite thing was to have french braids, mainly because my neighbour had to do it as my mum didn’t know how. Two fat braids with massive bows at the end. And then by the time I returned from school there’d be no bows and maybe one braid left if I was lucky. Good times! Pins would have to be glued in to not spring off my head lol

Back to Lily, that’s the thing isn’t it - you and I understand that it was quite “difficult” before but that’s no reason why she can’t change/learn now. You can’t just plead ignorance forever. My parents are from a homogeneous country and didn’t have exposure to other hair types. And then when they came to England there was no internet. TV was full of the same faces, hair, body type etc It’s not like that anymore. They didn’t have access to any specialised magazines (if there were any) and comprehension of English was poor anyway. Lily has endless resources. 😤

Yeah, I think shes also a combo of 3b/3c patterns based on past photos. But who knows how her pattern has changed with age and hormones because she fries the crap out of it.

If she thinks CGM is going to fix her hair in one summer she is setting up to fail (which we know she loves a fail because it allows her to stay the same always). She's going to have a really long transition period to fix that damage and she should invest in going to a stylist with curl experience.

ETA: Oop @Sarahsnightmare! Didn’t read far enough down to see you said the same thing!

She also needs to find another hair stylist with experience and know-how in taking care of curls. That should be step 1 before whining for free hair care and watching YouTube. Speak with a professional who understands the different types of hair and can advise accordingly. I’m sure a professional could tell her exactly what to do and what products to use. She’s beyond watching YouTube videos. She needs to seek professional help ASAP. AND PAY FOR IT OUT OF HER OWN POCKET.

At the end of the day, this will all be too much work and require a tit ton of patience we know Lily doesn’t have. Forget about being a good role model her to kid. She’ll continue doing what she’s always done and be lucky if she has any healthy hair left by the time Grey graduates college.
