She just doesn't seem to have any mates or social life or anything beyond taking photos/videos of herself in her house share and trying to get money off people for doing fuck all.

These “questions” (that she definitely hasn’t written herself) are like a Lily Melrose bingo.

mentions how emo she is / Panic! At The Disco / MySpace
Affiliate links multiple items
Humble brag about how young she looks (she looks her exact fucking age)
Photo of tattoo despite it being one of the first photos on her feed and incredibly easy to find
I would 100% not describe her style as alternative. Maybe 10 years ago but I thinks she just dresses like many other 30 something women. And that’s fine. I don’t know why she is trying so hard to hold onto it.

Oh look, she’s popped up with an ASOS haul….

I’m no social media expert but surely her extended absences must be terrible for her algorithm and thereby engagement?
What’s the point of ASOS paying for these hauls/posts if her engagement and visibility is in the toilet.

When will influencers learn that you cannot have it both ways?

If you want to keep your medical shit private, then that’s up to you. You can’t try and seek sympathy with announcements and hospital selfies while also telling people not to ask questions about it.

I find anyone taking hospital selfies to be very suspect. It’s the most attention seeking thing EVER.

If you look at the IG of the person who did it... there are 100 other ones that look very, very similar! It is nice though, I really like it!

Lily’s new Reel seems so out of touch at a time when fast fashion is becoming increasingly frowned upon. Especially when we’ve all been locked down with nowhere to go, who really needs that many new clothes at the moment? The weather is rubbish and we have to stay outside to socialise so most people are just wrapped up anyway!

It's like groundhog day on her stories.
1. post picture with what day of the week it is
2. post a series of products that you've used/been gifted/finished and tag the company obviously hinting for more free shit.
3. post a bunch of clothes you can have aff link swipe ups, even if it is a pair of cheap tights or basic underwear. Or 'an outfit I wore recently but didn't post about' although she's posted this outfit at least 3x before, each time with swipe ups for all the items as well as similar items to make sure you cover all your bases.
4. $$$

I mean that GHD curling wand post yesterday 'asking for help' - obviously begging for a freebie replacement because every other person in the world would just read the troubleshooting part of the manual or google 'GHD + flashing red lights'.

Honestly her monthly outgoings must be so low if she's given so much free shit and I'm sure she returns 90% of her clothes try-ons too. I've noticed that since I switched to WFH because of the pandemic, I've saved a lot of money for not buying as much of my usual skincare and beauty products. I had quite a minimalist approach beforehand but getting ready every day for work plus generally going out at least once during the weekend and a weekday dinner, drink or date night meant that I was doing my make up pretty much every day, doing my hair almost every day and wearing a perfume daily.

These days I just wear some eyeliner, eyebrow pencil and mascara if I'm presenting on video for work as it gives me more confidence, but I no longer wear a foundation, concealer, etc. Haven't worn a lipstick since.. September? And that was when restaurants were still open and I went on a date night with my SO. I only use my hair oil/serum these days and let my hair air dry whenever possible, if not I use a protectant for blow drying but I don't use any of my usual texturising sprays or anything. I put on a small squirt of perfume on days where I'm feeling a bit out of it but don't usually wear it at home. Pre-covid I'd usually have to grab something every month related to hair/skincare/make up to replace something.

If I was like Lily and never had to pay for any of this stuff, I'd have supplies until 2030 and the money saved would be insane.

PS. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with wearing a full face of make up/doing your hair/etc every day even if you are at home - it's just not for me :)

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: she actually has a really unique opportunity to make decent, relevant content as a 31-year old who does live in a house share, isn’t in a serious relationship, doesn’t have kids, doesn’t have a big career etc.

There are a lot women like her out there, and many more who would relate to aspects of her life (aka not having everything society and the media tells us we should) who would probably love to see someone talk about all these things; it would be a true niche and I think if done well, she’d probably garner a very loyal and engaged following.

She’s clearly too lazy to do it, though. Just stuck in her bedroom, taking outfit pics, competing with 18-year olds who have far more relevant style. I think she’s still got such an inflated ego from her Lookbook.Nu and early blogging days. People have moved on, Lily! Time for you to move on too.
I'd love to hear about her funny dating or funny housemate stories, or things to do in London that are perhaps less touristy, or some advice with regards to finding a room in London and her experiences. It'd be so much more refreshing than just outfits and affiliate links.

It's nice to see her back but I really dislike the way she was when she disappeared two? years ago. Occasionally she'd pop up on instagram and ALL she shared was affiliate links, obviously trying to get easy money, but whenever her followers commented asking if she's back/what's up/if she'll return to YouTube she'd honestly be pretty bitchy and shoot people down. Sure, she's entitled to privacy and sorting her life out, but then don't come on social media only to make money off people, yknow? She could have said she's taking time off for health reasons and that's that. But she didn't even say that and was annoyed when people asked about it... although she'd previously mentioned some problems she was having.

I'm glad she's doing a lot better and she seems happy in London but sometimes she still makes comments about not getting enough engagement on her content/wanting likes as if she didn't just disappear for years and kinda give a middle finger to people, yknow?

I'm interested to see where she takes her Instagram though and I do like her overall. I feel like I haven't seen her cat Aeris (sp? I never watched GoT) in a long time though... wonder if she took her to London.

I can’t stand it when she talks about anything related to wrestling, she rambles on and includes niche details, and it’s not because i’m not interested in it (i’m actually a wrestling fan!) but it just seems so ‘i’m so quirky and smug and know so much more than everyone.’

Like seriously how many of her followers actually care enough for her to disclose she won’t be wearing anyone associated with AEW because of it being awkward at a WWE event, and need her to name a bunch of ex WWE workers?

She hardly posts anything about her life or interests and spams everyone with aff links and ads, yet talks about this? Serious ‘I’m the only girl wrestling fan in the world’ vibes.

That is exactly the problem - “haul culture”.

It’s so utterly tone deaf in this day and age, on several levels. The consumerism, the ignorance of the modern-day slavery to make some of these clothes, the lack of thought for the world going through a pandemic that has heavy financial impact, the complete disregard for sustainability... it’s gross.

If Lily (and others) cannot modify their content to work within the parameters of how we should all be shopping now, then in my opinion, they don’t really deserve their platform.

I’d like to see her shopping her own wardrobe, re-styling old items, maybe exploring second hand clothing options and other more environmentally friendly routes. Basically taking that high street mentality and applying it to more sustainable and financially-friendly options.

Of course she won’t, because then she can’t rinse the aff links :sneaky:

By local cafe, I wouldn't be surprised if she meant her mum's bakery. When your family have a business, why bother looking elsewhere for a basic job? That way she wouldn't be penalised for being ill all the time. If she was so ill, no regular cafe would've put up with her. I enjoyed reading those stories more than her constant stream of affiliate links anyway.

I find and always found her (at least how she presents herself online) extremely shallow. Is there anything else in her life except consumerism and styling? It's really boring and depressing to watch.

I’m really not impressed with the amount of clothes buying she’s doing recently 😕 she’s such a victim of fast fashion and it’s not sitting well with me also due to the current climate that she keeps doing these hauls and encouraging others to buy. I hope influencer culture and there SwIpE UpS will fock off soon
