Where does all the furniture go? Is that room always empty?
Many years ago she was crying into the camera how she couldn't afford a dining table... so she's probably still waiting to be gifted a £1000 one

the whole house is empty that’s why she moves the one beige rug and vase around for every insta photo 🤦🏻‍♀️ the kid still doesn’t have a room I don’t think either

I do find it hard to suss the layout of the house with stuff seeming to move rooms for each photo and strange empty bits. Reckon we need a floor plan.

My son is only 10 months and makes those kinds of noises river was making in her video this morning.. he’s just turned 2, should he still be making noises like that?

I would say he’s 100% behind in his development or has possibly got a learning disability, at 2 he should be mumbling words not just basically grunting that way. And the fact that she says he has his milk and wants to go out every morning to me means he likes the routine which isn’t that quite typical of something like autism?

Surely at 2 he'd even know how to say 1,2,3 as most parents constantly count as doing things and colours....1 sock, 2 socks or red sock, green jumper. Deffo behind and she doesn't seem worried, I think if she does know there's an issue she would be better to say it on her insta so she knows she's not alone and I'm sure alot would say theyre in the same boat and help her in the right direction

I have said before on this thread river show many signs of being autistic and I’m not sure if jade doesn’t realise or in fact is aware and just won’t admit it. Either way it’s a shame she has no one around her bringing it up and helping her get him the support he needs and that she will need in this journey with him. He could come on so much with the right support and jade would probably find it a lot easier if she understood more.

I actually thought River seemed more animated over his birthday. It was probably the excitement over colour. I'm not surprised the kid wants his milk and get out the door, that's 2 year olds. He seems like a sweet little boy but I agree there is probably some sort of development issue. Didn't she say he wasn't responding to his name yet? That's usually the first indicator.
Get him support Jade and watch him thrive.

My 2.5 year old has been out of his high hair since he was 2. He sits and eats at the table with us. Jade needs a reality check. She is so out of touch with other children that she cannot see the issues with her own. It genuinely makes me sad when she posts videos of him, his life is just so bland and boring. He should be at music classes, and sports classes, and playgroups in church halls and at the playground with other children. My 2 year olds favourite thing is to go on a train journey. There doesn’t need to be a destination, he just wants to sit at a window seat on the train and watch the world go by. Jade has the capability to do all these things and more with River but she doesn’t.

It makes me sad when I see videos of wee River. My son was 10 months when we went into lockdown and missed out on so much. No interaction, no playgroups, no parks. It had a huge impact on him. He is now being assessed for ASD and is non(pre) verbal and he makes noises like River. It’s taken a lot to get my head round and is and emotional journey but Jade please have him assessed. Please speak to someone. And please take him out. There is no lockdown anymore, there is no excuse to not take him to these things. And it will help him massively. Do you think it’s why she stays in because she knows he’s behind?

Wishing you and your son all the best. My son is also pre verbal and on the ASD pathway, he’s 3 in August. Took me a long time to get to grips with it, but now I’m glad I did as he’s getting the support he needs now. X

My daughter is also on the pathway, she was 2 in December.

Can I please ask what is classed as pre verbal?

I class pre verbal as saying some words. Or professionals think they will communicate soon. We haven’t been seen by any SLT yet, but he says singular words and repeats some things I say. So he’s not completely non verbal but there’s also no verbal communication x

I'm just starting the assessment process for my 3 year old and honestly he was showing less signs than River. The obsession with cars was what made me think it with River as my son was the same, loved them! Watching wheels spin! And spinning his body is a stim for him as he bloody loves it 😂
I think river is has ASD and Jade will lock him away even more! He can still enjoy music groups and stay and plays and all that stuff I've always done with all my kids. Just looks a little different but they still get so much from it. And so do you, as a parent. It's lonely in the house all day. Most parents have to go back to work by the time their kids are rivers age so she's lucky in that respect she gets to stay home with him but do something with him Jade. Find some groups for him to enjoy!
