Are her and River ever not wearing PJs? Apart from the beige to sit on a swing or her "going out" PJs that she wears??

He’s 2 this month, right?! And still just staring into space and responding to nothing 😢 she needs to get him in to see a paediatrician so he can get the right input!

Very concerning that in her story she made out he’d been in that swing for 40 minutes. I don’t know if my child is abnormal but they’re nearly four and still hasn’t concentrated on anything for 40 minutes yet (except a film/tv)

I wondered if River was sensory seeking with the swinging motion.

I thought the same! My son is in the swing 5 minutes and wants to get out to do the next thing! And he at least smiles and laughs while being pushed on the swing, he was so vacant

Also, when will river be 2? Just noticed in the latest story of her and her Nan in the car she’s still got an infant carrier for him. I’m all for car seat safety and maxing out the one they’re in rather than moving onto the next one because it’s the legal minimum, but don’t most infant carriers max out at 13kg? Wouldn’t he be that at his age?
Edited to add that I’m saying this mainly because jade is definitely the type who would just keep him in it because she doesn’t realise he needs a new one

My 3 and a half year old has only just reached 12.5kg in weight so technically he'd be fine in a new seat but he wouldn't height wise and he's a tiny toddler

OH MY GOD JADE BEB do some actual child friendly activities with him for duck sake. ‘Oh I know we’ll go and sit on a bench and wave at cars all day’. Poor kid she needs some sort of intervention.

Is that what she meant? Oh the poor boy. I know this will be an unpopular opinion but I do also feel for Jade, she just needs some bloody help doesn't she?

There is every possibility I have misread it and they didn’t actually go and sit on a bench and wave at cars…. however, she just doesn’t do anything to stimulate him does she. There’s no colour, there’s barely any toys that we see, she doesn’t do any baby groups that we see (appreciate that she may not show them but, she shows everything else!)

You are 100% right, she does need help in some way, shape or form.

Has she ever taken him to soft play or anything similar? He always seems like he has no idea what to do when he's not in the house.. its so sad!

She’s been a couple of times with her sister I’ve seen, but she makes such a big song and dance of the most mundane things that I have to think she’s only been those 2-3 times she’s shown us

I thought the same thing re the swinging and I'm not really up on autism/ SEN things but it did strike me as bit of an outlet for him. He seems to be very introverted like he's holding his emotions in as he always looks so disinterested. I wonder what his tantrums are like in a way, are they just a grumble that she exaggerates or are they a proper meltdown 🤔

my 2 year old literally nearly pulled the blinds off the window during his tantrum yesterday. He was like a wild animal. I can’t imagine her dealing with those kind of tantrums.

I agree. My son is 2.5 and just been referred for ASD assessment. He loves the swing but he laughs smiles etc. Bless River, really need some intervention there. It’s hard to accept my child has some additional needs but it’s the best thing I’ve ever done for him now we’re on the pathway. River just looks so vacant all of the time, poor thing.

My teenager is autistic, it has been hard at times and I still worry about his future (as I do for his siblings but more). He is a wonderful boy, and I am so proud of him. He was non verbal at 2 and still way more responsive than river.

Wishing you and your son all the best xx

Aw thank you so much. Yes my son is still classed as non verbal but I’m sure he’ll get there soon enough. He was vacant for around 2 months following a regression but now he’s a lot more responsive 🥰
I’m sure your son is a massive credit to you ❤ xx
