I'm more concerned that she thinks that as a mum she can't take him herself...especially given that she does nothing all day and he works

I actually don’t think there’s anything wrong with waiting until he’s old enough to decide he wants a hair cut. Certainly nothing wrong with him having long hair (it doesn’t mean she’s treating him like a girl). The issue is that she said months ago he was going with his dad and it’s never happened.
Going to stick up for her here. My wee boy has the most beautiful shoulder length curly hair and I’m not cutting it. Everyone comments on how beautiful his hair is and to be honest when I took him to the barbers for a wee trim she didn’t want to do it. I don’t put it in a pony tail mind you. It’s part of his personality. He’s bouncy and so is his hair 
To be honest, my little boy has longish hair but I don't put it in a bobble. I honestly believe Jade wanted a girl and the way she dresses River, you would have thought he was a girl. Even his birthday decorations were something you'd do for a girl. That's just my opinion

If she can afford to splash out on the white company then she can afford to put him into nursery for a couple sessions a week! He really needs it if he’s going to meet any milestones. I don’t know any 2 year old that wouldn’t be making noise! My little one doesn’t shut up talking or at least laughing, babbling to himself etc, and when a birthday cake comes out he gets so excited, so the fact when he bought her cake out river wasn’t even making any noise was quite telling
My 5 month old is more vocal than River and more animated even when he sees his bottle his legs start kicking and he had a big smile on his face, river is just so vacant all the time it’s heartbreaking to see and to see Jade just be ignorant to it and not start taking the necessary steps to get some early intervention for him if it’s needed. I think she lets her own anxieties get in the way of what I best for River.
Her approach to parenting just blows my mind. She said yesterday 'river doesnt have a pillow or duvet yet, because no one tells you when they're supposed to do they?' Jade, no one gets 'told' when to or how to do anything for their kids, but the information is there! Same as his milestones etc. I feel so bad for River, but actually feel a little bad for Jade because she just seems so oblivious to it all and totally out of her depth
Also, it's totally unique to the child. Mine didn't have a duvet until she went in a bed, because she loved her sleeping bags. Like, she should know her own child and if it feels right then do it - why would you need to be told
