chapell roan was being torn apart recently for making that point but i completely agree with both her and you. aside from the parasocial-ness of it all, the fan is basically trauma dumping on a complete stranger who may not be in any mental capacity to hear that. there’s a similar video with daniel radcliffe at the stage door going through a similar interaction and i don’t know how you (as the celeb) deal with that kind of thing on a day to day basis for years. the absolute emotional weight of it.
There used to be a Twitter account called 'Harry, my cat died' which logged instances of One Direction fans telling Harry Styles their cat / dog / grandma / best friend had died, on Twitter.

It was relentless. While I doubt Harry saw even a fraction of those sorts of posts, it's a weird responsibility to be placed on someone's shoulders.

People who take those sly photos are honestly shameful tbh. Claiming “nobody was bothered” about him being there but you’ve taken sly photos of him??? I really do think he struggled with the amount of fame he had in 1D to then having a lot more free time and feeling lonely 🙁

Niall’s ans Harry’s posts are structured in the same way, using even similar words and the ending is the exact same. Those were definitely written by their PR team.

I always find it really gross and disgusting the way some fans get angry because cast mates / band mates etc don’t release statements immediately. I’ve even seen comments accusing people of not caring. It’s like they think they owe them their grief. It’s very sad people aren’t allowed to grieve in private, over someone they actually knew. Parasocial relationships have really gotten out of control since social media
I don't think any of the 1D men should put out a statement until they are ready to do so, and not at all if they prefer to express their sadness and grief privately. They don't owe the fandom a statement of how devastated they are. It doesn't mean that any of them don't care, does it? Everything has to be public these days, with various social media platforms.

We're taking about someone who gave a X Factor contestant a solo album deal to protect his brand rather than her going public about being raped in the hotel where she was put up during her time on the show.

He's a cunt.
Not only that. He walked her down the aisle at her wedding recently

I think this might give us a clue why he hasn’t seen his son for a while. Cheryl was probably praying he would eventually straighten himself out & be a dad to Bear 😔

Hopefully he can be flown home as quickly as possible. I’m sure there’s no need but a positive identification probably needs to be done still for procedural reasons. The PM results have already been released I see 😡. I doubt the family would’ve wanted that. He died after falling from a balcony and that is all we needed to know.

I’m guessing the family will opt to cremate him so that no crazy fans can damage a grave. If he’s buried the grave would be found very quickly.
I'm hoping it's a private cremation behind closed doors. I know the fans will want to line the route and throw roses at the hearse and show their love for him, but it will turn into a media circus, with drones and helicopters, everyone trying to get a photo of Cheryl, Bear, any of 1D, Liam's parents and sisters...it will be hell.

Dumped by his label, girlfriend gone home, miles away from any support...no wonder as someone struggling with addiction he relapsed quite badly.

Poor guy, I was never a 1D fan but he seems like deep down he was lost and sad.

His four band members getting it interesting neck for their silence. People should let them grieve in peace. They grew together from boys to men seeing the world and making their millions

We've had social media posts from Nialls brother, Zayns sister and Harry's mum.

I reckon the four of them will do a Friends style joint statement like when Matthew Perry died.
I remember this so well last year with Matthew Perry and people saying the rest of the cast don’t care as they haven’t said anything.. I feel like some people forget they are actual human beings as well. Nobody should dictate when and if the boys say anything I’m sure they are taking the news hard without people jumping on them. The entertainment industry is such a fucked up world!

Jesus. I don't follow 1D at all but literally gasped at this, and all the stuff in here about his struggles are brand new information to me.

So the story from someone who works at the hotel was he wanted to go in the pool but was told no as he was clearly intoxicated. He kicked off & got escorted back to his room - this is where the telephone call happens and they are concerned he will try and jump from the balcony (he didn’t want to be in the room). He smashes things up in his room and says he’ll jump into the pool, clearly someone with full capacity would know how stupid that is, he dives off the balcony and clearly doesn’t make it to the pool. This is why he’s head first & explains such a horrendous head injury.

Very sad and unfortunately it’s been quite obvious for a few weeks he’s been manic & on something. Really horrible for everyone involved I’m sure.
A friend from long, long ago heard someone fall from a bar roof in London and said the noise will live with her forever. She didn't see it but it was such un unnatural noise that made people stop in their tracks.

He's a grown man, his family and friends can't spend their life flying around the world to make sure he gets help. He needs to make that decicion himself. If they had of flown out this time, it would have probably delayed the inevitable for a short time.
Thanks for saying this, I couldn’t agree more. I have a young family member (an adult but younger even than Liam was) who has severe mental health issues and drug addiction and we his family, especially his mother, have done everything we possibly can to support him and help him get clean. He has had long hospital stays, rehab/therapy, the lot but that only lasts so long before he slips again. We can’t physically restrain him, nor can we follow him around everywhere to make sure he’s not taking. He has stolen a lot from family members and told countless lies. The people blaming his family really must have no clue what it’s like when a loved one is an addict. If they won’t accept help and continue to go down that path, there’s very little that their family can do. It is devastating to watch something like that knowing you’re trying your hardest to prevent it but also aware that it is futile.

I’ve just had sky news on, where they’ve been interviewing various music journalists, who were basically saying this brings home the tragic reality of what so much limelight at such a young age can create. 2 minutes later the news reader asks ‘with liam dying maybe they will bring Xfactor UK back’

Just ignoring everything the journalists had said about safe guarding etc 🫠
Yeah it’s sad because we’ve seen him grow from a young innocent lad with his whole life ahead of him to his struggles in his more recent years to now a very unfortunate ending - crazy how quick time goes.

I think Niall’s post is full of shock (understandably) and so he probably did have some PR help with it. I felt it was very heartfelt and genuine though.
