The whole ‘celebrity’ industry is so hedonistic and abusive. Carefully curated to appeal to the masses and extract money. It’s always been that way for sure but it’s particularly disgusting now.

And I can’t listen to celebs who wax lyrical about social justice and ethics whilst snorting half of Colombia.

While the age gap is questionable given she met him at 14, I don’t think Cheryl is attracted to minors or even men younger than her. She has quite a few exes of similar age to her, or older?

However, I remember around the time of her pregnancy there was a rumour doing the rounds that she basically wanted to get pregnant by anyone rich enough, and that them being younger and less interested in being around was actually a plus for her. The rumour implied she’d approached Harry first to have this sensational celebrity baby before settling for Liam. She was much more popular herself at the time.

Probably bullshit but I always remember reading it and thinking why else would she have a child with someone quite a bit younger that she hadn’t been with long.

She spoke before Bear about how much she wanted kids. I’ve always thought she was desperate to get pregnant at that point and wasn’t really bothered about liking him

You can have the most loving, supportive family and friends round you trying to help you but at the end of the day you can only help people that want to be helped. I think it’s wrong to criticise his family and friends for not doing enough, we have no idea what they have done. The end of the day he was obviously a very mentally unwell men whose life has come to a tragic end. I honestly feel sorry for his family having to lose a son/brother/dad etc and then having some of the blame put on them.

It really gets my wick when people complain that the tributes from 1D aren’t grieving enough. It’s clear they’ve had very little interaction recently (if not longer) and friendships phase out. If one of my childhood friends died (and a couple have) I’d feel immensely sad but I wouldn’t be paralysed with grief - I would treasure the memories and allow those who knew them best (partner, family, closer friends) grieve them harder because they are in their intimate circle. It’s disingenuous for the 1D guys to be completely gushing a) because they likely don’t know the Liam he was in the last weeks/months and b) he’s done some shady things that have come to light and being too saccharine implies they are ok with that behaviour. Like I said, damned if they do, damned if they don’t. I think all four of the tributes were perfectly okay and I hate that they are being criticised or scrutinised. Nobody has monopoly on how grief is presented.

I'm in my 30s and I obviously had friends when I was late teens, early 20s who I was immensely close with, did everything together and have so many memories with. Some of them, I haven't really spoken to in years. The odd message here, facebook comment there. God forbid if anything happened to them, I'd be devastated, and sad for their children and families, but would my day-to-day life be impacted by the loss? Probably not. I feel like that's how it is for the 1D boys. Niall and Harry's posts talking about his energy and passion, the time spent together in the band, public condolences to his family... It's indicative of "we made some great memories in the past but we were no longer close" which is completely understandable. In my eyes, they had no choice but to say something and they have. Zayn and Louis' are far more raw and personal.

I would wonder whether they have all actually been in contact with eachother. I would like to think so but the 1D post could have easily been put together for them and they've each okayed it separately.

So sad and shocking! His gf Kate posted a video of her travelling back to the US 2 days ago by herself, so reckon he must have been there alone and that the Snapchat videos were scheduled / delayed? Seems like he was on all sorts and reports of him having prostitutes in his room. What a sad and sordid end for him. His poor family.

I know it’s been said that Harry and Zayn might have hated Liam, but I find it hard to believe that either of them would manage to carry on hating him now he’s gone.

It was the same with the whole Be Kind campaign. Of course we should all be kind and online bullying is atrocious but it didn’t sit right using Caroline Flack as their example. She was a domestic abuser who again should have been held accountable, not excused because she was famous.

Especially with all the money and resources Liam had, his family couldn’t make him do anything if he didn’t want to. I also think he was bi-polar, and it’s such a sad, difficult illness when it gets a grip of somebody.

Exactly. It's easy to say oh why didn't his family get him help but he was a 30 year old very mentally unwell drug addicted multimillionaire. Maybe they tried for a long time.

That’s actually mental that he was posting only half an hour go. How is that even possible? Surely they’d have to declare him deceased and then inform his family, this would take a while. Has it been leaked? Where’s the source from?

Harry’s post seems less personal than Louis and Zayn. Not dragging him for it but you can tell they weren’t that close. It’s as if he’s said what he’s been expected to say.

Did Niall actually see him at the show a few weeks ago? I imagine it’s hit him quite hard either. He was either the last band mate to see or speak to him, or Liam came to his show and he didn’t see him and now he’s dead.

I thought exactly the same. It felt kind, but slightly perfunctory. Louis’ on the other hand was way more personal and intimate than I was expecting; it felt like it was just as he had written it with no one proof reading it. Zayn’s was also very raw; he seems to have grown up so much in the last few years and is very introspective these days.

This is absolutely disgusting and an awful thing for the media to release. Worse still is that someone purposely took photos of a dead person and (probably) sold them to a media outlet in the first place.
The relationship many fans have with musicians these days is so, so unhealthy, entitled and rude. Some of the comments I’ve read on Instagram about this, from his so called fans, makes me sick. Blaming his ex, etc. vile.
That woman is entitled to speak out about Liam Payne’s gaslighting actions. She is not responsible for his death by speaking about what he put her through. He is.

I think the 1D guys are in a bit of a damned if you do, damned if you don’t situation right now. If they weren’t on friendly terms for whatever reason (which is acknowledged with some members) coming out and releasing a public statement seems trite. But if they don’t, then people will complain.

It sounds less like suicide and more misadventure with alcohol and drugs that led him to be manic. If that’s the case, I wish people would stop hating on the peripheral people in his life.

Please can we not start with these mad TikTok theories that someone threw him off the balcony? It's insulting and disrespectful. I think a blind man and his dog can see what has happened, you just have to go by the amount of drug paraphernalia in the hotel room.

I agree. This is a man who was probably experiencing drug induced psychosis and his death is an utter tragedy and directly related to drugs. The hotel worker was trying to get appropriate help for him, help that arrived too late.
