Seriously guys. We all have friends who are in our lives for periods of time & who we grow apart from as life moves on. The 1D boys are no different. It has been blatantly obvious that Harry hasn’t maintained much of a friendship with any of the others since the band split. And that’s OK. It doesn’t mean he doesn’t like them or that he doesn’t look back fondly. It’s like if a university friend of mine died suddenly. Yes, I’d be shocked & feel very sad. We spent 4 years together & were great mates. But I haven’t seen them in years & our friendship fizzled out. That’s life. People have this expectation that they remain best mates.. why? They were young, then moved on. Life took them in different directions (ironically )

For all we know, they could have fallen out & it wasn’t great between them. And that’s tough when someone then dies. You were on bad terms but obviously, it’s still very sad..

Just goes to show you can have it all and still have demons..such a waste of life and such a shame that he didn’t get the help he so desperately needed. TMZs reporting is completely grim as well and shame on them as I doubt the news was broke to his family and friends before it was announced by the press. Nothing from 5SOS which I find really weird. The 1D tour basically gave them their break when they toured with them. It feels icky to me they haven’t said anything yet.

In fairness it hasn’t even been 24 hours yet, people deal with things differently and in their own time. There’s no deadline to say anything, they don’t owe anyone anything.

I believe it was suicide and he definitely jumped, he had bad mental health issues and problems with drink and drugs, so sad

I wasn't even growing up. I'm in my 40s now and utterly devastated.
I've been a huge fan since day one, was at every tour for the band at least once, plus all solo tours.
I've seen three of them this year and due to see Zayn next month.
14 years of my life.

Honestly I don’t know what these people expect. In times when I’ve lost loved ones I could barely put one foot in front of the other or even feed myself properly never mind come up with a heartfelt tribute don’t they have any empathy?

I know it's not the same situation, but after Matthew Perry's passing, I do worry Liam will eventually suffer the same fate. He really needs to get his drug and drink issues under control before it's too late

You could have a video of a person being eaten alive by a crocodile and the top comments will be ‘did they have the vaccine tho?’.

I can only assume you’ve never had the awful experience of dealing with an addict at some point you can’t keep running to them if they won’t accept they have a problem and get help there is literally nothing you can do for them. Sure you can sit with them while they shout abuse at you and sometime assault you. Clean them up when they piss/puke on themselves and apologise when you end up in the ER with them again due to a drunken injury but at some point everyone will reach a limit

They promise this time it will be different, they will really get the help and they will do it. A week later you are putting them to bed, washing blood/vomit/piss from their clothes and bedsheets. I'm sorry it won't happen again, but it always does happen again.
Its hard to deal with an addict but we do out of love.

I wonder how much X Factor/Syco have to bear some responsibility/duty of care, the whole entertainment industry sucks, Liam said in one of his podcasts when you have a bunch of 16/17 year olds locked up in a hotel room gig after gig after gig, the only thing in a hotel room is a mini bar, you look at Louis & Zayn especially they seem to have aged physically beyond their years, is it a case of fame/ record label/Simon Cowell squeezed ever last drop of work ethic out of these young lads, made their money & they are no longer 'hot property' but Niall & Harry Styles seem to have come out of it unscathed but I do wonder what's going on with Harry & his pearls, & general dress sense - it seems their adolescent years have been taken away from them . It's not a coincidence in recent years many x factor contestants are now coming out how they were treated, isn't Katie Waisell, Jedward & Rebecca Ferguson lady suing Syco

One Direction were just worked relentlessly for those 5 years, recording, touring, etc. Simon exploited them for every penny he could extract from them. The amount of tat you could buy that had their faces on and the 1D branding on was insane. They were Simon's Golden Goose.

I guess with Liam and Cheryl, weird and potentially inappropriate as it was, there was probably mutual experience that played a big role - both thrust into the spotlight in exactly the same way, they
likely understood things about each other's lives that would be hard to understand from an outside perspective.

Regardless, there was an abuse of power from her on him. Were this the other way around and it was an older man on a younger woman, there would have been a bigger outcry. In essence, it's not too dissimilar to Schofield and the lad.

How utterly sad to think when we all saw him auditioning and the height of the One direction fame after the shows he was already half way through his life, I wonder how much longer that would of been without the showbiz path he took

How awful for his family and his poor little son. I’m sure most of them will have found out via the media and that’s just heartbreaking.

Would you have liked to see pics of him dead all over the internet?
Some absolute ghoul posted pics of my loved one on Facebook in a very jokey manner after the suicide so I feel utterly sick that the parents of this young man who won’t have even held his hand for one last time will possibly see this

How horrible it will be for Bear when he grows up and has access to all the videos mocking his dad on the run up to his death. I know Liam behaved in that way but I just can’t imagine how devastating it will feel for him.

As sad as it is i'm honestly not shocked by it. He's been in and out of rehab, and seems to have spiralled a lot in the past few years. He was definitely on something in that pic with Niall. Sad for his son.
