Let’s see your engagement ring

I kept deliberately looking at cheaper rings after we decided to get married, because I was choosing it myself and I didn’t want to seem greedy. When we came across the ring, it really caught my eye the most and was the style I liked. He told me to try it on despite the price tag just for fun - £1000+ seemed very expensive to me for an engagement ring, even though it’s considered standard to some. I did try it on and it was obvious I loved it but didn’t think anything more of it and we left. Fast forward a few weeks and he surprised me with said ring. I’d just found out I was pregnant with our first child a couple of days before and I burst into tears from all the emotion. It was the sweetest thing as I wasn’t expecting it at all (and was feeling very bad due to morning sickness). I can’t wear it daily now due to work, but I still love it.

Not engaged yet, but he started asking me about what kind of rings I like! I love this one, but in white gold (silver?). I know grey diamonds aren't everyone's cup of tea, but I love them
Is this from Chupi? I adore their rings!

Here’s mine! It’s a rose cut diamond with green diamonds each side. I love it. I gave my husband some inspiration and think he did really well!View attachment 416979
That's beautiful. I also have a green diamond and people comment on it as it's quite unusual.

Wow, that's so unusual! Your wedding ring looks so good with it too. 😍 Boy did good!
Thank you! Yes we got our wedding rings made by the same lady so it fitted perfectly together - have dropped a few hints that it might look cool to have one each side by husband not having it 😂

Thanks! Neither had I - I think mine are man made (heat treated), natural ones are v v expensive apparently!

Wow, those green diamonds are completely delicious. Highly unusual and the middle stone accompanies them perfectly. Really stunning.

I love this thread. I always notice people's jewellery and engagement rings in particular. There is so much variety here - what creative people!

Loving this thread!

I didn’t have a proposal or engagement, we just decided to go to vegas and get hitched. In the meantime I bought a ring off ebay, silver coloured and with a huge duck off “diamond” for a fiver. I loved wearing it for the few days before we got married. It soon turned green and developed that funny metal smell but I felt amazing wearing it without the worry incase it fell off or broke!

A few years after marriage my husband wanted to get me a ring and decided to let me choose one, and because I can’t wear it for work (plain bands only) I went for this beauty!

Completely not offended if anyone hates it as I appreciate it isn’t to everyone’s taste!

I love this! I could never ever pull this off though, I'm definitely not cool enough 😂

As I said I’m not engaged but I love jewellery and my family likes to buy presents that mean something (specially my grandparents) so I have quite a lot of nice jewellery that I’ll always cherish. The top band was for my 21st middle was 16th birthday and the bottom eternity ring my grandad bought my grandmother for their 50th wedding anniversary, I helped him choose it and he was so unbelievably excited about giving it to me grandmother. He died nearly 3 years ago and my grandmother gave me the ring for my 30th birthday... excuse the fact they need a clean. We have a brilliant jeweller that made them all

If you are engaged to the right person the cost honestly doesn't matter. I honestly would have said yes to a haribo ring! 💗

Please don't judge, my ring is a 3.01 ct solitaire and I honestly wouldn't have chosen it. I absolutely adore it now that I have it but when we got engaged I would have chosen a more intricate design. It was purchased at an independent store subject to negotiation, it was £57k. It has been independently valued for more.

I am from an incredibly working class background and never dreamed of having such a ring, however if you are with the right person it doesn't matter. Eight years later we are so happy and the price tag of the ring means bugger all.

So an engagement ring ultimately costs what you want it to. A £25 ring does the same thing! 💗💍
57k ??????

This is mine, I love it so much 🥺!
It is honestly my dream ring and was designed for me by my fiancé’s jewler in Hatton garden.
I do sometimes feel guilty when I look at it because it could be used for a deposit on a house but I love it!
He proposed last year in the Maldives for my birthday!
I’ve been engaged for a year in 2 days!
I wonder if we will ever get married tho 😕😂
