I’m not sure I’d have ever chosen this style myself, but I love it to pieces. I have really big hands so apparently a bigger band looks better.
Love this thread!

Same here. I was recently engaged but by long distance (England, South Africa). So I suppose its only a verbal engagement at present
After returning to England last weekend I have to self-isolate. And against my best wishes my g/f came over last night to look after me as I haven't been too well.

Anyway, just before we retired for bed she took to one side and asked me to open a little present. And inside was this!

She took my right hand and slipped it on - a perfect fit. (lesbian partners sometimes prefer right hand to left hand for ERs and WRs)

I was totally overwhelmed to the point of bursting out crying with joy, and for the simplistic/understated design, which is what I have always hinted at when discussing ERs with her in the past.

So its now official, and I can't stop looking at it :giggle:

This is mine. He designed it himself and picked the stone etc, 13 years on I still wouldn’t change a thing.

Here’s mine! It’s a rose cut diamond with green diamonds each side. I love it. I gave my husband some inspiration and think he did really well!

I'm actually not a fan of those kind of rings that are overly sparkly (the one SS got). I just feel like they seem a bit over the top and everyone I know seems to have one? I think because all my other jewellery is quite small and understated a ring like that would look out of place on me. I also prefer gold instead of silver/platinum.

I like the idea of a small coloured stone in the middle and two diamonds (or diamond looking stones) either side. Example below!

I don't want to put anyone off their food by uploading a pic of my psoriasis marked hand so I found this pic of my ring.

My MIL has a large stoned trilogy engagement ring and was upset that I wasn't inspired by her ring. I love trilogy rings but they look like knuckle dusters on me because I have small hands and thin fingers. She said my ring looks boring like something you'd get from accessorize, and then added, but at least its not fancy like mine so it won't draw too much attention to your cracked hands' 🙄
Luckily I don't give a flying duck what she thinks of it 💃.

I don’t wear it much nowadays due to work. I just wear a plain wedding band. Got engaged 6 years ago, will have been married for 2 this February. Platinum diamond, nothing fussy or in your face, but I love it.

I’m sorry for resurrecting an old thread… didn’t think I’d ever get to contribute, but - after nearly 9 years, I finally can!

I am the proud new owner of this. Simple, classic and exactly what I would have chosen for myself. I love it. I don’t want to take it off, but it needs resizing a little bit. I can’t believe how close he got it, to be fair - I had no idea he was even planning it!

oh, and it was set on what would have been my dads birthday last year 🥰

This is mine - I love it because it’s a bit different! We got engaged in Lucca in 2019 (after I’d had a minor fit a few nights before whilst watching the sunset in the Cinque Terre and another couple did a very OTT proposal and I turned to my other half of 5 years and said too him... are we ever getting engaged 🙈🤣 unbeknown to me he had the ring with him but felt that the other people had ruined his moment and I had been a brat 😂😂) hopefully we will be having our wedding (or a Version of it!) in June 🤞🏼🤞🏼

I’d love to but mine was stolen from a gym I used to attend a few years ago ... I took it off while I was on the cross trainer and placed it on the machine. I forgot it was there and headed downstairs after my workout ... I realised it was left after less than 5 minutes but when I went back upstairs it had gone 😢

I did actually pick a ring style out a few months before so he knew what to get but the proposal itself was a huge surprise.
I originally just wanted a plain band with a solitaire but when I saw rings with diamonds on the band I fell in love 😍
Was meant to be getting married next month, back in Nov we decided to postpone to 2022 😭

My husband's proposal was a surprise to both of us. 😂 It was very spontaneous and he didn't have a ring.

We went to tell his parents that day and his mom asked whether I had a ring. We said no and she took out one of her diamond stud earrings there and then and gave it to us to have a ring made.

It's only a 0.5ct stone in a simple setting but it means the world to me as I love my MIL to bits and she really embraced me as part of the family. 🥰

Beautiful rings ladies! Love threads like these.

Here’s mine.. had to find a picture I’ve not posted anywhere else so I don’t out myself 😂
It’s a pear shaped diamond with halo in platinum.

I also picked my own ring with my husband to be.. it was a fab experience! Two years later and I’m still obsessed with it..
Whoops don’t know how I managed to delete the picture 😅 I’ll use this one from the website

This is similar to mine! It’s a Claddagh, a traditional Irish ring which originates in Galway - which is where we got engaged! Surprised by how thoughtful my husband was when choosing this ring.
The crown represents loyalty, the hands friendship and the heart love. 🥰
