Love this thread! So nice to see all the different shapes etc! I adore my rings 😍 we looked for engagement rigs together, I chose 4 I liked and then he made the final decision and surprised me with it a few weeks later.

I got my eternity ring last valentines (cheesey I know!) And I had absolutely no idea 😭 he chose it and it's perfect. It's exactly what I'd have picked. I think eternity is meant to go in the middle but because of the shape of my other rings its had to go at the bottom 🤷🏻‍♀️

Excuse the photo, they are ready for a clean but... lockdown 🤦🏻‍♀️

Just out of pure interest and nosiness - how much were your rings approx? Those who know of course! I sometimes get engagement rings pop up on my Instagram (unmarried 32 year old so prime target audience 😂 ) and I look at them just to see how much they are and they are £1000+!!! It blows my mind something so small is so expensive! I don’t understand about diamonds or anything like that. Id feel so paranoid with such an expensive ring as I have a habit of taking rings on and off again when I’m bored, I don’t even realise I’m doing it - have lost loads of rings that way!
As I mentioned previously, my diamond was a gift from my MIL. It's only 0.5ct but apparently it's the highest clarity, etc. We had it set in a simple setting and it's valued at over £3k, although it looks very modest! 😳

By comparison, my friend has a 1ct solitaire diamond ring and hers was around £800. It's a lab-grown diamond, but I honestly can't tell any difference.

@Zanzi202 sorry to ask but the 🤢 reaction to my ring?
Have to say I freaking love your ring! Never seen one like it - it's so different in a sea of solitaires and halos.

Oh bless you, thank you. I adore it, especially when people give me that 'oh you would choose something different'. I am hoping it was a mistake reaction but it made my heart sink a little.

I thought it would have been an error.
I'm glad it's been sorted out.
I think the ring is really gorgeous. I love all the bezel set diamonds. It's like a galaxy on your finger.

Love this thread ♥ I love jewellery especially rings and engagement rings. All so gorgeous 🥰
I have a sweet story about my ring. My then fiancé and I went ring shopping a few times so he got the gist of what I liked. He took a long time to chose my now ring. Months after we got engaged I took a look at the certificate etc and amazingly the date my ring was created was the date we had met and gone on our first date 26th of sept 2018.

£1400 - which I think is OK compared to some I've seen but honestly now that we've been married nearly 4 years I think its too much. Like I look at it and think what else that could have been spent on haha. But I do absolutely love it.

I've stopped wearing my engagement ring as the constant hand washing and sanitizer etc I'm concerned about it having a bad effect on my ring.
I now wear a very simple, thin diamond band.

Love love love seeing all these gorgeous 💖 rings

I think that would be my problem 😂 I’d much rather have a small token, and then spend the money on a fun holiday for us both. Same with the wedding really. I think I’m in the monitory though! I’m just not into expensive “things” that much🤷‍♀️ and I really didn’t realise how much engagement rings were... I thought maybe £300ish🙈.

Mine was £1,200 as well. I guess maybe it could have been better spent but my wedding dress was £20 and my wedding band is £300 so 🤷‍♀️ I have mine covered under my house insurance as it is the most expensive item I own except for my car.

Bit off-topic but my husband and I felt the same way. Had a very small and inexpensive wedding and then massive blow-out honeymoon. Best decision ever! We had the best time and made such special memories; we reminisce about our honeymoon all the time! 😍

Your absolutely right, go with your gut. We stuck to a small, lower budget wedding and don't regret it at all. Our honeymoon was about as expensive as our wedding and was amazing and we also had plenty of savings leftover.

Its a really toxic idea that you should be spending tons of money on it, just because. If people want to do it, thats fine, but its become the default. I remember the year before my wedding I went on a summer holiday to the US - the number of people in work who were shocked that I was able to afford that because "wasn't I getting married in the spring?!" It was ridiculous.

We got married with 2 guests, my sister and brother in law.

Surreal day as it was July and in lock down.
I didn't think it would be special but it was a wonderful day and meant so much.

We plan to have a party in a few years when we can celebrate with friends and family.

Really it doesn't matter how many guests you have.

Here’s mine! It’s a rose cut diamond with green diamonds each side. I love it. I gave my husband some inspiration and think he did really well!
