After returning to England last weekend I have to self-isolate. And against my best wishes my g/f came over last night to look after me as I haven't been too well.

Anyway, just before we retired for bed she took to one side and asked me to open a little present. And inside was this!

She took my right hand and slipped it on - a perfect fit. (les partners sometimes prefer right hand to left hand for ERs and WRs)

I was totally overwhelmed to the point of bursting out crying with joy, and for the simplistic/understated design, which is what I have always hinted at when discussing ERs with her in the past.

So its now official, and I can't stop looking at it :giggle:

This is mine - I love it because it’s a bit different! We got engaged in Lucca in 2019 (after I’d had a minor fit a few nights before whilst watching the sunset in the Cinque Terre and another couple did a very OTT proposal and I turned to my other half of 5 years and said too him... are we ever getting engaged 🙈🤣 unbeknown to me he had the ring with him but felt that the other people had ruined his moment and I had been a cat 😂😂) hopefully we will be having our wedding (or a Version of it!) in June 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Stunning ring but I love your story too, hence the 😂 reaction. I feel like we’ve all probably got our own version of your story I’m sure!

Please ignore my dry hands 😩

This is my engagement ring and wedding band.
We managed to have a small wedding ceremony in December just before all the Xmas lockdown kicked in. (After postponing twice). Hoping to have our big reception at some point either this year or next. 🙂

My partner an I went away for a weekend after 6 weeks.

I saw this ring in a jewellers. We were just having a nose about.

Unbeknown to me, my partner out a deposit on this ring when we got home and called them.

he later proposed near xmas 2020. And filled me
In with the story that he had had it all this time. After 6 weeks!! We still go back to the same place too

this is mine. I feel old when I think that we have been married for 17 years this year.

I’m not engaged but my boyfriend has asked me for what I’d want. I love antique jewellery but he’s keen to have something made. I guess ultimately I don’t really care ..( think that’s probably a lie)
But these are what I sent him and what I’d really want. I’d never want to be greedy with ideas I sent but antiques tend to be cheaper on the whole too

Love this thread. I’m not engaged yet (this year hopefully 🤞🏻) but we talk about it loads and he’s asked the sort of ring I’d like.

I’m a rose gold gal as all jewellery I wear is rose gold and I’d like something a little bit different in terms of stone so hoping for something along these lines 😍

What an absolutely delightful ring. It's so delicate. It's really lovely.

I don't want to put anyone off their food by uploading a pic of my psoriasis marked hand so I found this pic of my ring.

My MIL has a large stoned trilogy engagement ring and was upset that I wasn't inspired by her ring. I love trilogy rings but they look like knuckle dusters on me because I have small hands and thin fingers. She said my ring looks boring like something you'd get from accessorize, and then added, but at least its not fancy like mine so it won't draw too much attention to your cracked hands' 🙄
Luckily I don't give a flying duck what she thinks of it 💃.
Wow what a rude MIL! Your ring is beautiful 😍

These are mine. I have quite small hands and wear gloves to do clinical assessments at work so can't get away with anything too chunky or else the gloves tear!
Lovely seeing so many different styles on here though, think I'll go for something a bit different if I get married again 🤣

I am incredibly single but I have always wanted an opal engagement ring. I think they're the most beautiful stones and its my birthstone too luckily:love:

Just out of pure interest and nosiness - how much were your rings approx? Those who know of course! I sometimes get engagement rings pop up on my Instagram (unmarried 32 year old so prime target audience 😂 ) and I look at them just to see how much they are and they are £1000+!!! It blows my mind something so small is so expensive! I don’t understand about diamonds or anything like that. Id feel so paranoid with such an expensive ring as I have a habit of taking rings on and off again when I’m bored, I don’t even realise I’m doing it - have lost loads of rings that way!
