Sorry slight diversion, but I have just seen it discussed earlier that she said she couldn't afford health insurance (allegedly) for several years! What ?!

I don't know the details of her situation here so I may be mistaken, but who on earth moves to another country, and prioritises living in central apartments alone over essential things like health insurance ?! Furthermore, what message is this sending to her younger audience looking for info on moving abroad or just life advice in general ?!

I haven't watched the video again, I don't really have the patience to, but I hope that she explains that this was a foolish move, or I don't think she should have mentioned it at all, so her younger viewers don't get the same idea. It may not be glamorous but health insurance and an emergency fund is vital if you are living in a foreign country and are young, living alone with no family around you 🤦🏻‍♀️

If she was young I would be a little more understanding because we all make mistakes, and learning to manage your finances isn't always easy, but this lady is in her late thirties and moved to Italy in her late twenties didn't she?!

Well, I'm getting the impression she's not a very practical soul, which is also demonstrated by the problems she is now facing with the documentation needed to marry.

Yea not sure if I agree with her description of herself as a "pragmatic dreamer" 🤨

She lied. Completely. We know she has had her Greek passport for a few years now. That entitles her to the Italian health system.

Pages and ages ago I mentioned as having a student visa (which she said in the video with the lawyer she had had several) you MUST buy insurance to obtain the permesso di soggiorno/stay permit. No way around it, and I assume Spain is the same for their study permits.

So either she knocked about illegaly for years, lying about having permits, or she lied to embellish her "poor me" story. I think the latter.

This is the timeline I was trying to figure out before life took over.
So, in a a few short months Cosimo and his wife had gotten to know their tenant so well, that they decided she was a perfect match for their friend, who was already in a relationship I might add.
A tenant who had just dropped in the city, with no long term job/career. So, no clear indication that she was staying. If they got to know her that well or watched her channel, they would know she doesn't stay anywhere very long.
It stinks!!
@Antonio and @Alessandro do Italian landlords spend time with their tenants.
Again, I haven't watched that video but going by what's written here, the whole situation seems as clear as mud to me @Appleblossom

Another Tattler (forgive me, I can't remember who) suggested that K might have ADHD. I'm reluctant to speculate on such things too much as I am not an expert but I can see how this might be a possibility. I can also imagine that she might be on the autistic spectrum, she admits to many obsessions and also seems to be unable to "read the room" as to how she comes across. She talks about getting into a flow state when working, but attributes this to being a creative.

ETA: I want to add that I understand that the traits I mentioned above are not always associated with ADHD or autism, presented without judgment, only as a possible explanation of some of Kylie's tendencies.

I was going to comment on @Tdrinker post, so I'll stick it here.
Kylie has dual-citizenship Greek and Australian.
From her videos, she seems to use both passports and nationalities interchangeably. I suppose she uses whichever one benefits her at the time.
If she gets ill in Italy she can access the SSN for free using her EHIC using her Greek passport.
If she using her Australian passport (and that wouldn't make sense) she will have to pay until she becomes a permanent resident, the easiest way being marriage and then she is eligible for free healthcare through the SSN.
She could be pleading poverty or hardship again.
I could be very wrong maybe the Italian posters could help.

@Appleblossom See my post above. There is no way she had a legal permit to stay in Italy (before her Greek passport came through)without insurance. I agree she was adding to her little stories.

Oh goodness, sorry!
I really shouldn't type messages when I am meant to be working!

This is why I should not post while working. 🙄🙄
I am a disaster.

@Appleblossom no problem, it has happened to me too. Lol. At times this thread is a hot one.😅

I just saw your edited post about the landlord now. I had wanted to write it is not common to be so friendly with landlords. It happens, but usually if one pays rent through a bank acct you never really see or deal with them. Maybe they lived in the same building? Maybe Kylie had a lot of issues to fix? Maybe she....paid in cash. So many possibilites.

I follow about a million threads but I don't think I have ever read posts by people who have actually had interactions with the subject, it is so fascinating!
I really wonder about the timeline of her Greek passport, it makes no sense that she would go to Europe without having it when you can easily apply from Australia, why would you create the stress of having to get visas etc all the time? I don't buy it at all.
My thoughts with the landlord thing is that the woman wanted to stop Kylie flirting with her partner

If you watch her old IG Stories you kind of see where Guido came into the picture (implied as she suddenly started showing lunches with Tuscans and it is obvs at Guido's) in mid/late autumn, then she spent NYE at his complete with fireworks and they went to the sea. She was already at his most of the time before moving permanently in March. So much for taking things slowly haha.

Also when looking at those old 2018 and early 2019 posts, when she left Rome, Patrick seemed to comment a lot on her photos, encouraging and supporting her. I guess they remained friendly afterall?

I think that was her frescoed apt! I wasn't sure, but when she got the keys (a post) some of the art looked the same. I'm really not certain. But there were a few Xmas trees weren't there??

Yes, I can't remember where I found the info, I mentioned it but didn't post it because it was about family and not K and G specifically.
The country estate appears to belong to the G's and the Florence estate appears to belong to the GT's. Then there is the villa, they are trying to rent to subscribers.
They are very concrete links to Guido's families past going back centuries, no matter what we think or Florentines think, Kylie will exploit this.

Love all the passion on this topic! @Appleblossom I think your surmises are right re the G and GT property. All we know for sure is that “Kylie will exploit this” for all its worth like you say! Agree @Denise0211 there are so many factors about whether landlords will fraternise with tenants. There are always webs of contacts in Italy.

My foreign friends lived above a Roman contessa I knew who owned a building in the centro storico and she did ask them over for drinks and going to art galleries. Other friends lived in a beautiful apartment building where the landlord also had a flat and he took them out to his villa in Umbria and showed them his 500 year old mill that ground the wheat he grew. So it can happen, but those relationships took years to develop...

I doubt it could be a hotel as it seemed to have a good kitchen with an oven etc which would be quite unusual

I'm sure it's not unknown for a lifestyle vlogger or such to be living cheaply in a room somewhere and then rent the same AirBnB occasionally as a location. Turn up with your props, stay a day or two, shoot a month's worth of footage and photos then head back to the hovel to edit and hope the punters think you are in the nice place full-time.

Yeah and when I think of it, in the stories with her sister living across the way that summer, her apt was rather small. Maybe it was Guido's, as you said or a "show" airbnb as @VeeJayBee noted. I was just mesmerized by the Christmas trees. 😂
