That is what I have wondered and why many of us also speculated she has more family money than admits. Combined with always having some hook up or another in expensive cities.
And now look at the screen shared by @mdozzie !! @Alessandro that had to be a quite hefty rent in Rome, wouldn't you say? "Friends with the family" or not.
Definitely @Denise0211 😬That flat was an airbnb holiday rental in Trastevere and would have been a premium rental. No Italian would lease it out for much less than the market value, especially for years at a time.

Her family don’t have much money. But she has always managed to live a champagne lifestyle on a beer budget🍾🍻

Hi, I am a long time viewer of Kylie's and have just found this forum. I agree with a lot of what is said here, and I have always struggled to follow her timelines/stories. They were always very vague and didn't make sense. Does anyone remember when she made an instagram post in the hospital, saying she needed to leave Rome suddenly - she packed up her beloved Rome apartment. What was that all about? She never explained. I think she went back to Australia for a bit after that, if I'm remembering correctly.
Welcome @mdozzie 😊 These unexplained disasters seem to happen periodically and Kylie disappears back to Australia to her parents place in Byron Bay. Looking at the date on this post, it would be around the time she was recovering being dumped by the rich man’s son that she had set her sights on. It took a long time for her ego to recover from that, maybe this post was another attempt to attract his attention! She definitely completely ran out of money in Rome and couldn’t stay there anymore.

a flat with a claw foot bath... why advertise this if you have no idea of the price anyway?

I'm so confused. Then it looks like she went right back to Rome? I do remember another later post where she talked about packing up all of her things to put in storage over Xmas and had no idea where she would be living next. She's just so odd. Also her idea that a man will make her safe from grape? And what was that she said about going slow and not falling in love quickly? Like a slow burn? Ok.

I'm so confused by all of this grape thing. as a woman of her age honestly this is a fear of mine and one of the reasons I had never understood her staying alone on that boat or her wanting to live in that isolated toscana place (and yes I know women are more likely to be assaulted by someone they know) but regardless as someone who seems (like Iam) pretty nervous it seems weird

Nothing really adds up with Kylie. Like many people have said in this forum, she paints a fake picture of her own life (and achievements) and a false one of the Italian experience, meanwhile leaving out all of the real disasters she has brought on herself.

@Denise0211 exactly, she packed up her things in Rome when she’d burnt her bridges there. This was the impetus to move to Florence which happened I think after she came back from Australia for a while.

Yes @emm wouldn't she be completely alone at the farm? She's often lived alone AFAIK as opposed to having flatmates. But only a man makes her feel safe? Are women only grape in the middle of the night? This is the same woman who rode her bike to and from Yab and other discotecas in Florence.

@Alessandro all of her stories and timing are so bizarre, but she wonders why people question it.

@Denise0211 as many have commented before, Kylie’s narcissism is at the root of many of these obfuscations and lies (plus the dislike she engenders).

Narcissists are not very nice people to live with, once they reveal their true colours, so Guido may be in for a pretty unpleasant time.

I saw you all say Guido comes from a noble family/you were easily able to find public information online - what would I look up to find such info? What is his last name

Also, so they live in a flat together in Florence during the week? Which one is that - I cannot keep all the different kitchens she's in straight

Oh dear, what is happening here. If it's a blood transfusion, there could be many reasons for this I suppose, but I hope she wasn't harming herself or was attacked.

Another disgruntled subs. on the recent video ... but very much in the minority.

This perfectly captures why I also unsubscribed. I was interested to follow the Tuscany renovations, but ...

What "broke" me? The Thailand videos. I went back thru old videos because I wanted to see the Morocco videos again. Quick side note first: I think she used Maryam Montague's voice (a woman who lives near Marrakech) in her Moroccan videos years ago without attribution. She finally shared an interview with Maryam many years later, in 2020. Strange. I know Maryam's voice because I know people who know her, so I've also followed her.

Anyway, on the way to Morocco, I found the Thailand videos.

I LOVE Thailand. LOVE. The people and culture are beautiful. The surroundings are astounding. But the Thailand videos were all about Kylie. Her face and body parts were 70% of the screen time. I'm done. I give up. There was so much to share about Thailand. But with Kylie, it's all framed with "I" "me" and "my." This hasn't changed much, in years.

G's surname is Ghezzi Galli Tassi. Kylie shared his office address with her subscribers so that they could write to her @Antonio or @Alessandro is there a way of knowing what is a noble surname in Italy? I know of some historical figure with the surname 'Ghezzi' but it might be a common name in Italy.

Some situations we've seen might not make sense because narcissists don't want to admit a negative thing was their own doing. UNLESS they can turn it into a manipulative story to get what they want from you -- attention, money, a nice place to live. They make themselves into the victim instead of the perpetrator. They deliver sad stories but these are lies, because they caused their own problems. This is not an oversight or laziness. It is calculated and intentional. There are no excuses to be made for them. All you can do is try to spot a narcissist quickly, and protect yourself by not feeling sad or bad for them. Get away. And don't look back, ever. I have worked with one. These are not people just obsessed with selfies. They can do a lot of damage to people.

Hi @PlinyinTorquay we always thought that Guido, mentioned by other mutual friends, came from an old family in Florence, but not noble. Variations of the GGT names are not listed in the directory of noble Italian families. They may have had a title several generations back with a different combination of surnames but that has died out.

Guido is definitely not a ‘conte’ or ‘principe’ even as a courtesy title today (some noble families in Rome still use their titles and are called that by everyone, despite Italy being a Republic). Although I am sure K will boast about his family and make up the rest even without a noble connection🙄

Any 3 surnames are usually a giveaway in Tuscany of particular historical lineage. Nobody else uses/has them. Here is the family of the girl Guido escorted to the debutante ball, Costanza della Gherardesca (1987), daughter of Gaddo (scroll far right last row). Usually all of these families have streets or palazzi named after them in town.

His family were a bunch of Counts back in the day, as per this FAI article (talking about their watermill) If you need you can copy and paste in google translate.

The main reason I wanted to post was to note what @Alessandro mentioned last night helped make much more sense of Kylie's story. Knowing about being dumped and broke, what she did next makes sense. She was in Australia for quite a bit, since Christmas 2018, and for many months, with trips to LA (🙄) and her middle east road trip in between. She moved to Florence in July 2019, per her IG. That's the apt she rented from Cosimo, friend of Guido's as we now know. Lol.

Other people have said there was a grandmother with a title in the past but that line has died out @Denise0211 @PlinyinTorquay. In previous generations there was a count with a place in town and he gave it to a hospital as his lineage died out too. Would be interesting to know where G fits into the whole panoply of GGT’s. The Della Gherardesca family are a much more well known and distinguished family in Italy than Guido’s.

I posted his parents marriage back on page 4 or so.
His grandmother was titled until her marriage.
Like Kylies age it was something I believed so it had to come from her. Then I found the marriage record.
There is no evidence of him or his immediate family having titles. He was Cavalier to an Italian Contessa at Le Bal in 2003.
Edit: someone got the info out before me. I should finish the thread.😁

Agree @Appleblossom we never heard of Guido or the direct family having any title. Yes he took Costanza della Gherardesca to Le Bal and they are still friends.

There are lots of Tuscan families with "lost" titles still recognized only by local Florentines and obviously their group of friends. Private schools, Int'l schools, the families typically have more land than necessary, vineyards and uliveti/olive groves just like Guido's. Guido's family's wine and oil, though, don't seem to be as known or successful as many of his friends (i Marchesi Gondi, Vannicelli Casoni). Seems like they rely on their Villa accomodation. But he obviously socializes in certain circles and now Kylie does too as she landed on her feet yet again. 😂

Really though! Lol. There she was, dumped and had gone home to AUS with no plans for where she would be. She evidently found another airbnb in Florence, the landlord and wife happened to be friends with Guido, et voilà. I assume it was either an airbnb or at least an apt paid in cash , because there seemed to be no issues with her up and leaving for Guido's villa in March. I doubt she was still paying rent for an apt right in Santo Spirito. And if she was, she has funds coming from somewhere as we have always been curious about. Patron money?

Yes, I can't remember where I found the info, I mentioned it but didn't post it because it was about family and not K and G specifically.
The country estate appears to belong to the G's and the Florence estate appears to belong to the GT's. Then there is the villa, they are trying to rent to subscribers.
They are very concrete links to Guido's families past going back centuries, no matter what we think or Florentines think, Kylie will exploit this.

This is the timeline I was trying to figure out before life took over.
So, in a a few short months Cosimo and his wife had gotten to know their tenant so well, that they decided she was a perfect match for their friend, who was already in a relationship I might add.
A tenant who had just dropped in the city, with no long term job/career. So, no clear indication that she was staying. If they got to know her that well or watched her channel, they would know she doesn't stay anywhere very long.
It stinks!!
@Antonio and @Alessandro do Italian landlords spend time with their tenants.
